It's not a top loader so I presume it doesn't come with the "sets the house on fire" feature?

    • +3

I certainly would not of bought it at any price if it was a top loader.

    • +3

Not sure if you live near me… but its funny you say that!!

A house a street away from me was on fire this afternoon and damn near burned to the ground. 5-6 fire trucks attended as well as every neighbour and his dog.

I heard from one of the girls standing around that a lady and her kids were in the house when the Washing Machine caught on fire and by the time she noticed, there was a full on fire raging away. Luckily she got away safe and sound, but my partner and I both agreed that we are pretty apprehensive about replacing our broken washing machine! We've been using the local laundromat and we're getting used to doing our washing (and drying) there once a week.

      • I live in western Sydney

    • +3

I think that Samsung has rectified that issue by offering fire extinguishers by redemption with all top loaders.

  • +2

    thats a damn good price

  • How does it compare with the Samsung WW75J4213IW 7.5kg Front Load Washer? Slightly cheaper
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-WW75J4213IW-7-5kg-Front-L…

    • The difference appears to be limited to the display. The one in your link is probably the same unit but 'defeatured' which was common practise.

      • I have a much older Samsung front-loader model (2012) and the wash times are not accurate with it either - always take 10-15 minutes more than the initial ETA. I suspect that hasn't changed and probably won't between models.

    • When I was looking at it yesterday I am pretty sure the slightly cheaper model had a few less pre-set features and 1200rpm spin compared to 1400rpm. Don't quote me on that though because I looked at about 10 machines.

      • +2

I ended up buying the WW75J4213IW, can't hurt to have a few extra rpm to really dry the hell out of anything inside! Had the same washing machine for 15 years, finally became terminal the last month. Thanks for this post holden93!

  • all gone?

    • still in stock says buy another for me.

  • Bargain price, I have the model down (no digital inverter) and it's fantastic.

  • +5

Seems like a fire sale ;)

  • edit: oops wrong model ??

  • Damn it. I bought this yesterday at $639. Got the 15% eBay discount and redeemed a $50 eftpos card as part of their promotion when spending over $600 on a washing machine or fridge which got me down to $493. This is a sweet offer. This prompted me to read their 30 day guarantee and it excludes their own pricing so I guess I finally got shafted. That's karma biting me in the butt for scoring a dyson dc54 animal pro for $509 from masters yesterday after the manager priced matched a used one on eBay which was listed for $599 starting price and took and additional 15% as per eBay sale.

    • only $50 difference after you the that $50 efpos card.
I wont get the card i don't think as this isnt over 600 now.

      • Eftpos card is based on minimum $600 spend. $50 difference with instant saving compared to waiting 6 weeks for my eftpos card is a mighty fine deal.

      • +2

Rang the Good Guys store today and they were kind enough to refund me the difference from $639 to $496.

Is this the model that burns the house down. My mother in law needs a new washing machine

    • The six affected models are SW65V9WIP/XSA, SW75V9WIP/XSA, SW70SPWIP/XSA, SW80SPWIP/XSA, WA85GWGIP/XSA andWA85GWWIP/XSA.

No it isnt. Im pretty sure the fire hazard ones are only top loaders.

      • +23

You misunderstood my question. I'm after the one that blows up

        • +2

          0_o why?

Nevermind i get it now. LMFAO

        • Lol, I choked while I'm having dinner.

        • +2

          You want the VW85GWGIP/MIL

This has software that detects when a Mother in Law is using it, after it detects a preset number of verbal complaints, it then catches fire

        • @RockyRaccoon:

          Ill take 4 im muslim

        • @holden93:

Check out the unmarried one over here :-)

        • Nice try… agent 47

  • Do Good Guys install on delivery? Any experience? I have a dryer on top of my washing machine & will need help to install this if I buy.

    • dryers weigh about 15kg

should hook off wall when pull upwards

if it is phsyically on the washer, light enough to move

      • Its physically on top but I have a medical condition that prevents me from lifting heavy things and I don't have any one else around to help.

    • I rang them, installation is extra & discussed with the store it will ship from!

  • Making me feel pretty stupid for spending $1290 on a Bosch

    • +3

Depends on how much you appreciate your house not burning down.

  • What are you guys opinion in picking up vs delivery? Definitely worth it to pay $35 delivered?

    • I don't have a car that this can fit in/on so i have to go for delivery. if u had free access to a ute or van etc.. id definetly pick it up better off that $35 in the car for fuel.

      • +1

do you or anyone know roughly the dimension include the box? btw, thanks OP

        • would also like to know this

  • Very tempting!!

  • brushless motor? inverter?
    so cheap though…

    • inverter motor with 11yrs warranty!

I have this washing machine and it is pretty awesome. Only annoying thing is the song it plays when it completes a wash - goes for almost 30 seconds!

    • +1

      From the user manual:

The Sound Off function can be selected during all courses. When this
function is selected, sound is turned off for all courses. Even if the power is turned on and off repeatedly, the setting is retained.

If you want to activate or deactivate the Sound Off function, press the
Rinse and Spin buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. The “Sound
Off ” will be lit when this feature is activated.

      • +3

You can change it to Justin Bieber. But you have to actually put him in the washing machine. Apparently doesn't like that type of high rotation. Fussy. I said: "Justin, why don't you just hop in here and sing a song when it's finished". He just replied "What do you mean?"

        • +2

Factory default is "I'm On Fire" Bruce Springsteen.

      • Thanks! Was too lazy to read the manual..

    • +1

I actually quite like the song. It's a jolly old song that makes me smile when I hear it lol. I always dance around my wife to annoy her when it's on too. Maybe that's why I like it…

    Fire in Hole !

  • after the random fires of their previous models, i may think about another brand.

    • Top loaderwas the fire hazard one not the front loader.

not like it was last years model of the same front loader.

Fair enough though i wouldnt of bought samsung if it was for the great reviews and great price.

  • Any good deals on dryer?

  • Does anyone know if this model has a hot water inlet?

    • +1

Most sammys dont and I believe this would be like the others (ie: heat using electricity).

  • Good deal. Feel like kicking the shit out of mine so I need a new one

    • put a brick in it

  • Bought the cheaper model. Don't forget Cash Rewards!

  • In mid-2012, I bought a 2011/2012 Samsung 7.5KG/4KG washer dryer from the Good Guys (Nunawading, VIC). Delivery was AUD55 in 2012 and they delivered and installed the washing machine and fridge, both Samsung. I am very happy with both.

  • Thanks OP..Bought it..Dont give up if Paypal is playing up. managed to checkout on third attempt.

  • Brilliant deal!

  • i prefer it on top but this is a good price to put in an investment property. Does this model also have a hot water inlet?

    • most washers now days do not have a hot water inlet.

  • Coming up as $474 delivered in checkout. What am I doing wrong?

Good guys is just down the road so I'll pickup. It's coming it at $421.60. Does that look right for pickup? I'm as confused as you are! Thanks for your help.

      • postage cost is different, I get $52.74 postage

        • Ah cool. Thanks for clearing it up!

        • oh wow i didn't realize postage was different for everyone.

        • @holden93:

Just to put everyone's mind at ease I am now the owner of two working washing machines 😳 haha

  • +4

Uh oh…I bought one! Too hard to resist.

    • +2

Those days you go on Ozbargain for some eneloops and walk out with a washing machine amirite?

      • This washing machine can use eneloops

  • Great value!
Bear in mind this model only has a cold water inlet. I don't know how many Ozbargainers wash with warm water but if you have access to cheap warm water (solar etc) you won't be able to use it in this machine.

  • Can someone tell me if these need full water in the drum all the time to wash?

Some of the top loaders you can have like 30% water for small loads.

    thanks

    • I kinda sometimes wish the Samsung Front Loaders used a bit more water.

      • I have a WF1752WPC it was dead easy to raise the water level.

2 screws at the back and pull the lid off by pushing it back and pulling it up. If you are facing the machine the level sensor is in the right hand side corner closest to you. Turn the top plastic screw two times clockwise. Water level rose about 3-4cm total.

Yes it uses slightly more water but the washes are brilliant simply cannot fault the machine.

Be aware that in 2013-14 Samsung started putting a clear (nailpolish like) sealant over the water level sensor screw and some force will be needed to break the seal.

    • you will not even see much water through the window.
water is at the bottom of the drum

  • +4

bloody ozbargain! So I have a new washing machine but right now I will need to sell the existing one.

    • I think we have an problem 😳🙀

    • +1 mate. Hoping someone will buy my existing one!

  • Just to put everyone's mind at ease I am now the owner of two working washing machines 😳

    • two? wow hope you did it in two transactions to get the maximum effect of the 15% off.

    • we have more than 2 ssds or 2 pack of eneloops, so washing machines would be fine too.

      • true i have like 10 packs of eneloops.

  • I am moving into a new place in a few weeks but just ordered one of these to my new address. However it says the delivery date will be earlier. I sent a message on ebay to the seller, asking it to be delivered on the date i'm moving in. Should this be a problem? If they try and deliver it early, no-one will be there.

    • when i bought this just before i posted i got an email with the name of which store it will be coming from i suggest calling the store named in your email and see if they can deliver at a later date?

    • I am in the same boat. Have just put a Click-and-collect request down from the nearest store to where I am moving. Might liaise with them (or find someone on gumtree) to get it delivered then.

  • I have a 10kg Samsung front loader that I bought about a year ago. Only thing I don't like about it is the door. For some bizarre reason they've designed it so that it doesn't swing open fully. Which is annoying for the position I have it in.

Not sure if this would be the same on this model, but just thought I'd mention it for anyone considering it who would be putting it into a small space with limited access.

  • Can't resist… Bought!

  • omg!! 29 sold in last hour, 149 sold in 24 hours

    • +1

155 sold since 5pm i was the first person to buy it at this price.
      Not bad lol.

  • Yesterday they were selling for $789.

    • check the date mate they were from August.

      • my bad.

  • +2

    so cheap -$421.60 pickup.

bought one just in case my current 10 year old front loader dies.

    ridiculous.

  • Get to confirm payment, then says not available for click and collect at the store I chose. :(

  • Purchased this last night.
Thank you opening post our Washing Machine has been having problems for at least 2 years now. Coming up with random errors half way through loads, it is usable but the wife has been bugging me about getting a new one but I have been saying to her if I see a good deal on ozbargain I'll get one.
Well finally one has come around that suits our household!

    Happy Wife Happy Life!
