  • How do I get it down to AUD $224 it is showing as $232?

    • Since GeekBuying only accept USD I had to put the equivalent price in AUD at time of posting.

If you have a card that has no currency conversion fees then you need to use that to get the price as close as possible to the current exchange rate. I have post explaining it on the other page.

    • For me I ordered phone + case + DHL delivery = US $189 = AUD $240, appeared in my credit card online statement today, about ½ hr after I placed the order ( I used Visa card conversion, rather than Paypal conversion rate).

  • For some reason the discounted shipping isn't applied to the new Package B version with the case and screen protector. :/

    • and it is 24 dollars difference compare to 16 gig version only 6 dollars difference

  • Just how bad is the camera? VERY tempted to get one, but do use the camera a fair bit and aslo for 'scanning'. TBH it will probably only be a fill in phone until I'm off my contract then handed over to the wife, unless I like it :) - but more looking at Huawei P9 - or it's replacement for me in a few more months.

  • +2

Can you not make the price of grey color the same with the gold?

  • Can someone tell me what version of MIUI does it run?

  • +1

How do we get discounted shipping for the grey model?

  • bought one…hopefully this is a much better upgrade from the HTC M8 I have.

  • +2

I have just tested a Redmi note 3 pro (3gb rom) with global rom and cannot believe the crappyness of the camera quality, otherwise this is really a nice phone (my friend did not use any screen protector, and had few bad scratches already, so careful). The gold colour is absolute no no – it might be sought after in Chine, but in Australia it looks utterly ugly to me, go for the grey, you won’t regret. Why on earth they will still use MIUI 7 in a newly released batch? MIUI 8 is much improved and practical version with 4G and released two/three months ago. Are they trying to get rid of a bad batch which could not be sold in overseas market, in their physical stores? I have pulled out from the deal and now will wait for note 4 (64gb ram) price to come down in next couple of months. Not trying to influence your decision, just expressed my honest opinion.

    • I think the sub $250 price is probably the selling point here..

  • Since I'm getting flooded with PMs - At this stage I'm unable to get a discount on the grey version. I have no ETA on when it'll be on sale.

    • +2

Ok, but I'll offer some advice that you could pass on to your sales team. If they're going to offer an "international" version of one of their models, then don't offer it in gold just because it's fashionable in China because it sure doesn't seem to be that way in Australia. You could've sold more units if it was black instead. It wouldn't be such a big deal if there had been a black leather case that would fit this model.

      • +2

Not an employee and not up to to me in this case.

Though the total gold sold significantly exceeds the number of grey instock (<100).

        • Thanks for all your replies, Clear. I bought a gold one because I'm a cheapskate. I'm going to use Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger song as the ring tone to justify my purchase.

        • +1

          @kahn:
funny you mention that because i got tired of silver/black/white/gray and purposely bought gold instead. so was delighted that gold was actually cheaper :)

  • +1

I agree black front with gray back is Good. White front with silver back is OK, but gold front and gold back is ugly.

Waiting for gray price to match gold then I will buy.
Any news on when international SD version of redmi note 4 will be available?

    • Sometime next month. New release Xiaomi phones gave fluctuating stock and prices.

  • +1

hmm DHL shipping for the Package B version is US$12.40 not US$7 ?? is this mistake or correct ?

    i want to order asap.

    • Limited promotion just on the phone. DHL isn't cheap.

      • Any special on the grey/silver versions?

        • No.

  • how fast is the free 'registered airmail' usually?

    • you'll be lucky to get in within a month

      • ouch, that's terrible. Looks like its thirty something dollars to get it before I get old

        • that's why dhl shipping is recommended highly when buying phone from overseas.

  • Bit the bullet and ordered the phone today through Cashrewards. Still haven't received confirmation from Cashrewards though?

    • Bit the bullet too. Bought a Grey one.

Bit pricey @ $262 NZD but oh well,

    • CR tracking can take a couple of days if done right.

      • how long does it take for order to get shipped? bought yesterday still not shipped yet. it says Processing, i thought its in stock? (gold version)

        • It is instock. It is normal for processing to take a couple of days due to the large volume of orders received worldwide.

        • @Clear: can you make sure my order shipped with DHL? i paid for DHL. I can send you my order number. Thanks

  • I paid US$13 for DHL delivery for a case and the phone, got email today that say items being shipped via China post, and ETA: 15-30 days !!!!!!!

    • wow what a mess.. im worried for my order now :(

    • PM me your order number so I can find out.

      • I have PM you my order number and the current shipment details. thanks.

  • If that's is the case you should be refunded your shipping.

  • I have send them an email to please explain, (China post does not sound like DHL to me!!!)

  • Unless they China Post to DHL.

    • I see what you mean…a bit like Harvey Norman using Aust Post to send your parcel to "Courier Please" so it can be delivered to you house!!!!! and may takes 15-30 days !!!!!

  • Noticed DHL pricing dropped on the Gray dropped to the same as the Gold, so Gray it is. (Phone only, not Package B - ordering a case separately via the free shipping). I just hope it's DHL and not per above!

  • So I ordered this on Saturday, and the my bank account and Paypal have both processed the payment and yet the status of my order upon looking at the Geekbuying account is still saying payment confirmed (processing).

Is this normal or should I be worried?- never ordered from Geekbuying before.

    • I'm in the same boat. Ordered Saturday, payment confirmed and still showing processing. I'm assuming they just had a large number of orders but hoping it ships soon as China Post takes long enough as it is.

    • Processing time can take up to a week due to a large volume of orders.

      • Ok fair enough, thanks for replying Clear

    • Same thing, ordered Saturday night. If it ships today I'll be happy. Hopefully gets here by the 9th with DHL.

  • for bloody sakes, I ordered a grey one early morning on the 26th, and it is still 'processing'. Why the hell hasn't it shipped yet. I emailed support 24 hours ago to ask why, and I have had no reply.
If they can't process orders within a week, they should reduce the price or something. This is ridiculous.

    • ok they shipped, now gimme!

  • Update:. Just received another email this morning, they split my order : the case is send via China post, the phone is via DHL even though I paid DHL delivery for both, at a premium price of US$13 (not the discounted DHL shipping cost).

  • Just got an email saying that my phone has been shipped out.. Hoping to get it in 3-5 days…😊

  • Guys its possible to get the grey 32gb for 179USD. Login/sign up (fake email works) and type in retailmenot for coupon. It seems to increase the price for gold tho

    • retailmenot and xiaomifans2 are 5% off sitewide coupons. They will increase products to their original price before discounting.

      • Nope i just bought the 16gb grey which was going for 163(20%) discounted, brought the price down to 155.

      • -1

and these would have worked on presale prices. But instead, I waited, because you said you could do a deal better than what could be had at presale.
Then you decide to not offer a deal at all because "low stock".
So the result is, I had to wait longer, I had to pay more, because I trusted what you said.

        • +1

I actually specified in the previous deal that the grey model would not be on sale.

          @Clear:

A week before that you said you would try to get a deal/price by the next day.
And then the next day you said you can't get a coupon until the 30th when they can confirm stock.

Keep in mind, there was already a bit of a deal being the 'presale' price, so considering I and lots of other people wanted to buy it then, and you're telling us to wait till the 30th for a coupon, it would suggest that no matter what we should wait and you would find us the cheapest price.

Before that, on the 18th, you answered someone worried about waiting and missing out due to stock levels: "Since it's not a widely distributed phone I'm confident that there will be enough stock."

So I waited. And because you said to wait till the 30th, I didn't think to check back in the thread a week before that date for your update.

I also didn't know the presale price would expire before the 30th, I think it ended up expiring on either 23rd, 24th or 25th.

Then you come back with an update, saying that in the past 7 days there have been so many orders that it is now considered low stock and anyone who purchases it now risks not getting it.

You do have access to presale coupons, I know personally you don't like doing it and want to wait till release, but this was something ozbargainers really wanted. If you had given us a presale coupon or told us to use the 5% off, right then and there, we would have this phone, in the colour we want, for less cost. The presale price was $180usd, so just at that, we could have got the grey for $171 with 5% off, (or likely more from the presale deal you could get), which is just $1 more than this gold deal. But instead I paid minimum $7.50AUD but likely $10+AUD more than what I could have and had my shipment delayed because of the delay in ordering.

Did geekbuying truly refuse to give you a PRESALE coupon at all back on the 16th (and not much later) when I asked, and you said you would "see what you can come up with" with 6 upvotes? I'm worried that you may have just asked for a non-presale coupon that will be valid at the time of it becoming available.

Its just the end result is literally you have saved ozbargainers $1 (instead of just preordering with a 5% off) and only if they wanted the gold version. For people wanting the grey version they have had to pay more than if they bought back then.

I also don't know why you didn't update this thread with an option for the grey with 5% off, considering people were still able to buy it and get it shipped.

It sucks because I thought you were here to make sure we get the best deal on geekbuying stuff and take the anxiety out of needing to look elsewhere for the best price on geekbuying.

  • I ordered the grey a day after deal was posted. Didn't want to risk it after Clear mentioned in the original post there was limited stock. Have ordered cases and screen protectors from AU ebay sellers. Geekbuying has just shipped mine out.

    Thanks Clear! :D

    • Can you update on what cases you ordered fit the phone?, Geekbuying just emailed me too about shipping my phone, but I'd like to buy from AU ebay sellers to get it fast.

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262125205183?_trksid=p2060353.m27…

Haven't got it yet but by what Clear said (normal 3 pro cases fit) I ordered this tpu case. I'm sure there are other types if it doesn't suit

        • Ah dam I was about to order this and just noticed, it states that it isn't compatible with the global edition now.

Guess it's back to search through ebay.

        • @Polde:
          Damn! Oh well

    • +1

Exactly the same as me. Seriously why waste your time for $10? Just order it an have two less coffees next week. After using the 5% off code the silver came down to with in $10 of the gold one. And for $10 not to have to look at that shit gold colour everytime I look at my phone it's money well spent.

      • That 5% off was very handy. Paid for my postage and insurance. Well worth it for the grey/silver.

  • Ordered gray 32GB with code, TPU case and screen protector separately. Thanks Clear, your relies and help to fix support issues help my decision to buy from geekbuying.

  • I put through my order on 28th along with some other stuff, tomorrow will be the 7th day for process and I doubt anyone works on Sunday… Well, definitely not DHL. So I can say it will pass the 7 days processing time and my items won't get sent on time.

    • Oh, I've sent them two emails past two days asking for a eta of when my items will be sent and no reply at all.

  • Thinking of getting the redmi but have a newbie question…

    This is what Whirlpool indicates:

    3G bands
    850MHz (B5) – Telstra, Vodafone
    900MHz (B8) – Optus, Vodafone –
    2100MHz (B1) – Telstra, Optus, Vodafone

    4G/LTE bands
Australia is currently using these LTE bands
2100Mhz (B1) – Telstra (a handful of sites), Optus (Tasmania), Vodafone
    1800Mhz (B3) – Telstra, Optus, Vodafone
    850Mhz (B5) – Vodafone
    2600Mhz (B7) – Telstra, Optus
900Mhz (B8) – Telstra (a handful of sites, utilises spectrum previously used by 2G)
    700Mhz (B28) – Telstra, Optus
    2300Mhz (B40) – Optus (Vivid wireless spectrum)

    The Redmi note 3 says it support 3G: WCDMA 850 /900/1900/2100MHz 4G: FDD-LTE 2100/1900/1800/ 1700/850/2600/900/800/700MHz

So it supports all of Oz's 3G band and all of Oz's 4G except the 2300Mhz Optus.

I am with Optus network…is Band B40 a necessity for phones? Thanks

    • +1

      It has B40.

      4G: FDD LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28/ (2100/1900/1800/1700/850/2600/900/800/700MHz), TD-LTE B40 (2300MHZ)

      • Thanks. I must have looked in the wrong place then. So from this spec, the Redmi note 3 supports ALL the oz frequency band…is that a correct understanding?

        • +2

Correct. Just make sure its the "Global Version"/"International Model", the other model has less bands.

        • @kaBargain: Thanks!!

  • I paid for DHL Express shipping on mine and according to the tracking shipping information was received on august 30th and nothing since. Looks kind of worrying as it's a birthday present for my girlfriend and I needed by the 8th of September, I paid for DHL as it states 3-5 business days delivery, yet they seem to have had the shipping info for 4 days now and done nothing with it.

    • I think you need to allow up to a week for them to actually dispatch it, according to the rep and what's written on the product page?

      • I got the shipping confirmation email from GB about 2-3 days ago so it has been shipped, just no progress since then.

  • ordered on 31st, still processing..

    • me too, ordered 31st, still processing 7 days later with a DHL payment as well. Thinking of cancelling if they don't get it sent today.

      • is yours shipped yet? mine is still processing… might have to raise paypal dispute

        • Nope still 'processing' pretty poor.

    Hi Clear,

Not trying to be a douche/disrepectful or something but I reckon I find a better deal here on Aliexpress that replaced my Bootlooped G4.
US$ 164.99 with 10% cashback from Aliexpress via cashrewards which bring it down to US$148.5 / AU$ 196.11 (google-conversion)-perhaps AU$ 200 through visa card thanks to (PR0r + TA) INCLUDING with Soft transparent TPU case,Decent screen protector (not tempered) & AU Adapter.

All credits goes to PR0r as he is the one who refer me by posting the bargain (99 vote almost 100)
I dont want to repost as I'm very sensitive with negs and whinging from spoiled ungrateful users. If you do want to post it or anyone , you can use it

I don't know if you got any commision or 'glory' with geekbuying since you're associated.
If you do , Im very sorry that I posted this :(

    • You've actually linked the Chinese version, while this is the Taiwan version with better Australian 4G support.

I don't mind if people find something cheaper as this is OzBargain.

      • -1

Ow ok. But I reckon theres no big difference in 4G+ connection according to Helpful comment from Pr0r deal, some of them have a same 4G+ connection eventhough there is no band 28. They dont notice the difference. But perhaps Im wrong

Perhaps if your provider don't use band 28 , the Aliexpress one is a better deal

PS: Am I using bold correctly master jv?

        • +1

B28 and the others are good if you're out of the city. I could easily price match Aliexpress, but I'll leave it for now ;)

jv uses bold on the important bits.

          What is the normal price?

        • -1

Mate if the chinese version is the mediatek octacore give it a pass. It has fewer bands, comes with chinese OS , and has NO MICROSD SLOT.

EDIT: it's the snapdragon variant so ok…but why does Dhl show 15-30 days

        • -2

          @EatmahPoo:

          RUde side of me:
Have you even looked at the link that I provided? It's exactly the same without B28 which might affect 4G+ Connection if you're out of the city B28 as Clear mentioned. Did you have a very bad experience with chinkShit? Because Xiaomi is Chinese brand & made. Quite funny when you said that taiwanese version is always better than chinese version as the Xiaomi 100% made in china and owned.

          Polite side of me:
It's exactly the same without B28 buddy ;), BUt it even include the AU plug , Transaparent TPU case & screen protector

        • -1

          @Clear:

That's fine. I can understand that it's really self-conflicting for you to promote other store.
I will just keep it quiet ;)

        • @rodinthink: man, I'll respond to the rude side cos it's funnier. Chinkshit is fine. I was pointing out to the variant of the phone, there's 2 main ones, snapdragon650 and the MediaTek variant. They are both Xiaomi but are a different model. MediaTek is generally the inferior one. That's a fact, maybe because it came out first.

Yours in the link is the snapdragon one hence my edit note.

I never said Taiwan is better then China model, someone else did, get that rod outta there.

To polite side of you, yeah good deal broooooo ;) B28 isn't the end of the world, but Dhl shipping shows 8-16days. But geek buying isn't that much faster with their processing times. So yeah it's a good deal, I not affiliated with either, so if it's a better deal more +s for you.

  • -3

Seriously Geekbuying? I bought the phone 10 days ago, and not only did you charge me $185USD with no DHL discount, but had only sent the phone 2 days ago? Seriously? These fellas will get their phone faster than I would at the same price, with a case and SP too? Darn dude. I'm fuming a little right now.

Guess it teaches me to buy into hype. Never again, I supposed.

    • That phone wasn't even part of the sale let alone it's shipping.

      • -1

Sorry, just read the thread. Didn't realise the sale only applies to gold.

  • Sorry this might seem daft but how do I actually add the faster shipping options? There is no option to change shipping method at any stage of purchase. Also, is there a remote surcharge on DHL for this phone?

    • In the shopping cart, click on "Proceed to checkout" as this will let you choose your shipping method before payment. If you're in an area that DHL considers remote then you'll likely get hit by the fee.

      • Thanks for the quick reply. So I have to go through the Geekbuying checkout, not paypal? Because when I try to go through Paypal checkout it doesn't give me the option to change shipping type. Or does this happen after when returned to the shopping cart?

        • Proceed to checkout will still let you use Paypal. It just lets you confirm all of your details and shipping method before payment.

  • Anyone else get asked for Credit Card and Drivers License/Passport ID?

    • That usually happens if you paid with a CC and it got rejected.

Send me a PM with your order number and I'll find out.

  • 7 days since purchased with DHL shipping and STILL "Shipment information received". I reckon the DICKS have NO stock.
