  • Just confirming that this is brand new & not a referb or factory 2nd?

  • +2

Hi BlitzR, This is brand new Australian stock straight from Samsung Australia. With a full 12 month Australian manufacturer warranty.

    • -2

thanks for the quick reply.. hmm $95 shipping to Brisbane :(

      • These are all coming from a Vic distributor and because they are big TV's they're expensive to ship interstate. But too be fair, still really really cheap.

    • Hey mate, is this available for pickup?

      thanks

      • +1

        Hey Bonbon,

Yes pick up is available from our St Kilda Rd office in Victoria, Level 1, 92 St Kilda Rd, St Kilda, Vic.

Please note these TV's are expected to arrive within 14 days so pick up wont be straight away.

  • Looks like a decent telly. How does it compare with Panasonic's offerings, in term of price, quality and usability?

  • +4

    Hi Jakennta,

It really depends who you ask.

One thing that cant be argued is that the price blows any other comparable product out of the water, especially Panasonic. The 50" Panasonic 3D Plasma is $2769 so the Samsung comes in WELL under that, by over $1000.

In terms of picture quality, I have seen both and its a very close call, I might just give it the Panasonic, but only just. Saying that, if I was going to buy one, considering the Panasonic is $1000 more expensive I would want it to blow the Samsung out of the water, which it doesnt.

Useability, I'm a fan of both, they are both easy to use, easy to navigate and they're family friendly as well.

Let me know if you want any further info.

Also guys we have customer service agents available until 5pm on our phones (1300 886 962) if you want to discuss anything.

    • +2

Appreciate the honesty…I was tempted to buy one, now I'm almost sure I will!

  • +1

hmmm very very tempting- I need a new 50" TV for my Rebel Alliance meeting room

    • +3

      IT'S A TRAP!

      • DONT BE AN EMPIRE HATER! :) "nice TV btw awesome deal"

  • Looks good.

You state that "all orders placed during our SUPER SALE will be shipped within 14 days after purchase" but to redeem the Blu-ray player "it is the responsibility of the customer to register for this promotion within 14 days of purchase". How can the TV be registered before it arrives (to another state)?

Also, does it come with the starter kit?

    • +1

      hi AnonyMiss,

As soon as you have placed the order, you can register with Samsung, once you receive a full tax invoice from ELJO. When going through the registration simply select "I have not yet received my TV' and you wont need to fill in the serial number field, then when your TV arrives you log back in and enter the serial.

      Yes all TV's do come with a starter pack, which includes 2 x 3D Glasses + 1 x 3D Blu-Ray Movie

      • Are the included 3D glasses rechargeable ones?

        • my stater pack ones were not rechargable, button cell suppose to last about 50 hrs.
the glasses via redemption i got are rechargable.

      • So does this mean that the TV will come with a copy of Monsters Vs Aliens 3D and 2 pairs of glasses as the 'starter pack' with the TV, then claim back from Samsung another copy of Monsters Vs Aliens 3D + 2 more pairs of glasses and a 3D bluray player?

If so this is a great deal :)

        • I can't see any mention that the starter pack is included in the package, all I can see is that the starter pack and blu ray are included (by redemption) so I doubt whether you will get X2 the starter packs!

        • +1

          hi Bargainben,

we've just been informed by the distributor that the starter packs dont come with the TV, they come with the Bluray player via redemption. So both the starter pack (2 x Pairs of glasses and 3D Movie) + the Bluray player are via redemption.

      • +1

        Correction:

We’ve just been informed by the distributor that the starter packs dont come with the TV, they come with the Bluray player via redemption. So both the starter pack (2 x Pairs of glasses and 3D Movie) + the Bluray player are via redemption.

      • I have bought one on the proviso that it comes with a starter kit as stated above, are you going to provide one?

        • +2

          Hi AnonyMiss,

Yes all orders that were placed before I listed my correction will be sent with a starter kit. As this was my mistake. Just send an email to [email protected] and we will organise to have one added to your order.

    • you will just have to register on the samsung site and note that TV hasnt arrived yet.
just re enter the serial number on the samsung site when the TV arrives and all will be ok.
I did as described for my redemptions and all is good.

  • I have the Samsung PS63C7000, its just a spectacular TV for picture quality.
Series 7000 and 8000 are the same, 7000 AU, 8000 USA.
Have a look on www.DTVforum.info or www.whirlpool.net.au for user reviews

is it a good price, seems to be as digitalcentre.com.au have them for $1999 + delivery

Might also be worth considering extended warranty.

Just be aware that plasmas, any brand, generate HUGE amounts of RF interference to AM radio and HF Shortwave radio reception.
for most folks that is not an issue.

  • i just checked the reviews
    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1260092
says there that there is a difference between the c8000 and c7000, c8000 is able to turn off the dejuddering processing and also has the Real Black Filter, which is said to give better blacks

    • I think the C7000 in Aus has the Real Black Filter, but not the motion judder processing..

  • What happens if we recieve a faulty unit? I have read a lot of these Samsung Plasmas have a fault with the unit Buzzing and some of the inputs not working along with other faults.

If we get a unit that has one of these faults, do we need to pay extra to have it return and replaced?

  • +2

    Hi Twisty,

If your product arrives DOA (ie has any faults straight out of the box), please let us know within 48 hours and we will have a courier come collect it at our expense. We will then organise a replacement at no cost to you.

If it develops any faults after that its covered by Samsungs 12 Month warranty and they will be able to fix and/or replace the TV as needed.

Just as a side note, the buzzing was a big issue with the Series 8 2009 models, we are yet to have 1 customer complain about buzzing in the 2010 models, so it seems Samsung have gone some way in fixing the issue.

  • Ok thanks
Just was concerned as a lot of people who purchased the 63" & 58" on DTV forums are getting the Buzz. This is the 3D model C7000.

Any chance on a LED 3D Sale (C8000 55") hehehe

    • +2

:) We'll see what we can do about an LED 3D Sale sometime in the future.

      • IF so, I will be tempted. (I have a Sony 46" X-Series bought over three years back, which needs updating ;-))
I am amazed by your responsiveness and quality of answers!
Bring on the sale for the LED before the promotion of free Blu Ray for footy ends!
        Please

    • maybe even the 65" LCD or so would be good
so far my 63" plasma doesnt have any significant buzz.

  • Hi,

Bought one and registered on Samsung website. With the receipt, they asked for original receipt. Do I use the one that I got through email or will I be getting a full tax invoice by mail?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Hi iBragain,

You will be getting a full tax invoice sent out via email within 24 hours, this will be your original receipt, just print it out and send it in to Samsung.

  • Sorry for another question. The extended warranty is with?

  • +1

Twisty the extended warranty is with United Electrical, Australia's largest warranty provider, they have service centres all over the country and its an onsite warranty.

  • Twisty,

On your website you have a VIVO plasma TV that is 42" but it states 127cm…can you please clarify if this is 42" or 50"?

    Here's the link:

    • +1

      • oops! The comment was directed to JMG146, my eyes playing tricks on me.

    • +1

      Hi Lovedeals,

It should state 106cm, it has been updated accordingly and it is a 42" model. Thanks for letting us know.

      • +1

Damn! I was hoping to get a 50" for a bargain! LOLL

  • +1

What's the power consumption like on this?

    • +1

      Hi Unco,

Based on the Tech Specs available, Samsung have not actually released the power consumption figures on this model at the moment.

  • Yer I was keen but the Shipping is a killer to Gold Coast :(

  • +5

    Hi Guys,

We have decided to drop our price for shipping to QLD Metro to $60.

If you want to order and your in QLD Metro just use discount code: QLDMETRO

Make sure you select QLD as the shipping option at $95 and then you will receive a $35 discount.

Hope that helps some of you:)

  • +2

Yeah, lets just say that for me: FREE SHIPPING = A BUY FROM ME :)

    • Me too

  • Good Bargain!

I'm gonna resist though and wait for christmas deals :P

Myer is selling them for $1998 as the marked price so I'm pretty sure you can get 100 or 2 with some haggling :)

    Thanks for the deal!

I look forward to more 3d tv deals from you soon :)

  • CNET's review below.

    http://www.cnet.com.au/samsung-ps50c7000-339302501.htm

Gonna pass this time, but I hope to see more deals on TV's in the future. Put in a nice shout for ya on CNET's comments ;-)

  • +1

    Hi Aurotaro,

Cheers for the post on Cnet, be sure to keep on checking here and our website (www.eljo.com.au) as we always try and have the best deals on Home Entertainment and Whitegoods in the Country.

1 More Hour Guys… The response has been fantastic today… we still have units left, so if your interested get in while they're still at this price.

  • can you extend this deal until tomorrow or even midnight. can't get a hold of the mrs.

    • Hi Jiakz,

We have to give our final amounts to our distributor by 5pm which is why the sale is ending at 5pm. Then we will decide how many extra we can get (if any… as there are only a certain amount available) so basically if they are not sold out by 5pm then we may have an extra 5 or so units, but at the rate they are selling the extra units will be gone before the night is out.

      • How many does the distributor have?

        • Not as many as we would like:)

      • what if i select bank deposit instead of credit card ;) ?

        • You can pay via bank deposit, just please send throgh a copy of the remittance showing its been transferred prior to 5pm.

  • Hi,
can you clarify (in general) what the cost of extended warranty is?

    • Extended Warranty Options:

      1 Extra Year $199
      2 Extra Years $249
      4 Extra Years $369

  • I have referred this to a friend who is in the market for something very similar to this!

p.s. It is great to see how active and helpful you are with your commenting. Much respect!

    • No worries Koungra, glad you like the deal…

  • These power guzzlers require 859 kWh/year.
At $0.39c/kWh it costs $335 every year to run these units !!!

    http://www.comparison.com.au/televisions/Samsung/Series-7-PS…

  • Just snuck myself one in at 4.56pm :)

  • +2

Good example of how a company should treat it's potential customers here. I don't need a new TV personally, but the deal still gets a thumbs up from me for the way JMG146 has dealt with all the queries in a polite and timely manner. Some other businesses that post on here should take note.

I'm not a shill btw, just thought it was refreshing to see :P

  • +2

isnt that rated at 10 hrs a day use?
so it only using 235 watts.
thats heaps less than an old CRT and probably only twice as much as a LCD/LED
i only pay 21c kWh on peak rate, so its going to cost me about 5c an hour to run.
    gee its so expensive……………..

  • +1

    OZBargainers:

  • Is it possible to have the TV's delivered on a specific day? I work 11 hours a day but I have Fridays off.

    • +1

      Hi Testeagle,

Yes we can accomodate whatever shipping day you prefer, just not on weekends. Simply send us an email once an order has been placed to [email protected] and we will add it to the order notes.

  • Sound like a pretty good deal but 50" screen is just too big for my humble abode. Any chance of a similar offer on the 42" panel?

  • Decent price, but I am after the PS58C7000 one. When will you have it on sale?

    • +1

      Hi Klosez,

Because we're feeling in an Ozbargaining mood today, We can offer you a special sale price on a PS58C7000, email [email protected] and I will fill you in on the details.

  • Well I ordered the tv XD

    • <wrong place - deleted>

  • I want this pretty bad, I'm having trouble not buying it :) Too bad my LCD and Blu ray player are only months old and I have a small flat. Otherwise, this is a great deal imo.

    • Mustn't despair. As the saying goes: "Happiness is wanting what you have rather than having what you want".

  • 2 Units left guys… will keep you updated as the night goes on.

  • Anyone wanna buy my PIONEER PDP-508XDA? Reviews here: http://www.cnet.com.au/pioneer-pdp-508xda-339281523.htm

If someone buys this, I'll buy one of the remaining 2 units!

  • 1 Left Guys…

  • +8

Ozbargainers, we have now sold out of the full allocation of units at this price, we only had a certain number available to us and as these are now all sold, we cannot get anymore, no matter how much we would love to be able to continue this offer for you.

Thanks guys for a great day, hope you enjoyed the deal and I hope to see you all shopping at ELJO in the future!

    • Looking forward to the next one. Series 7 Samsung please.

  • dang i missed the "3d" section of the title and just skimmed past it

  • +1

    Hi Guys,

Due to the overwhelming popularity of this deal and the abundance of requests from people who missed out we are in talks with our distributor to try and get our hands on a small amount of extras at the same price. We should know by 1PM if we can get anymore…

    Stay tuned.

  • I've just been told that Palmerston ACT (13km drive from Canberra CBD) is not metro and my order from yesterday will incur greater shipping, what gives?

    • +3

      Hi Uncojoe,

Please check your emails, our courier quoted us on a price to Palmerston NT not ACT, Your palmerston ACT is considerd Metro and the charge is only $40.

      • +1

        Yup, it's all fixed.

        Good customer service!

  • +2

    Hi Guys,

We have been able to get a small extra allocation of units, as such we have extended the deal until these are sold out. I'll keep you posted during the day.

  • If I order today, will it arrive in Perth by Friday 24/9? AFL grand final will be in 3d.

    • +1

      Yes it will

  • I just ordered mine and wanted to have it quickly. I seleted Pickup so that I can go to St Kilda and pick it up straight away. Then I saw the earlier comment saying that it won't be available to pickup straightaway and there will be a delay until the units get delivered to your St kilda office.

How do I get to know when the unit is available to pickup? Do you have any idea when they will be available?

This is a great deal. +1 from me.

  • Hi Rmamila, we will call you as soon as they are ready for pick up. We have quoted within 14 days, however we do expect it to be well within this time frame.

  • This deal will end at 6PM on Friday 10/9/2010 - Unless sold out eariler!

We wont be extending it beyond this point. Just to let you all know we are having a previously scheduled IT Upgrade at our offices tomorrow so there will be no phone support available, however there will be email support offered through the day.

And we will also as always be answering questions here on Ozbargain.
