    • I keep getting credit card errors. Been trying to purchase for over half an hour now. Even called optus but they are ****heads, couldn't help me. Tried on 2 different cred cards, a debit card and a payapss . Both mastercards. Anyone know how I can fix the issue?

      • Just ordered 1 online, was prompted with error message twice but keep trying and finally the third time was approved, btw I am using AMEX.

        • I must've tried about 5 times with my master card, at least 3 times with my sisters mastercard and once with her amex. I tried it with my girlfriends Mastercard and it worked first go. It sucks cos it is supposed to be a gift for her haha.

    • There was a problem with the Optus website. Got the same - refused my card and then could not get the page at all, or very slow, and then got price $149, but in cart it was still $99. Was on chat with the Optus salesman, and finally after about 30 min it started working again. So there is second one on its way! (had to get first one to play with and then decided to get another one - but obviously everywhere sold out :-)

  • Can anyone direct me to the link for update to 2.2. from Optus website? Thanks.

  • big w CUMBERLAND PARK sa has them now!!!!!!!!! just had a call.

but i ordered one on line today, didnt think it would come in that quick

  • Although this has a "resistive touch screen", even light touches on icons on home screen invoke relevant applications.

However, flicking to other screens is very different. It needs quite a strong dragging on my 'My Tab'.

Is that how everyone else feels? Or, could this be a defect?

    • +3

tats the way surm. i will say that, it is a king for the low end tablet. U aint gonna drag the screen all the time, the time u spent stationary on a page is more than the time u r swapping the screen. Overall is still smooth, good deal with equivalent $ spent.

    • That's the way mine is. Just a case of getting familiar with it me thinks. Software upgrade may refine it.
I find when I press one of the 3 keys on the bottom (home, menu(?), back) mine buzzes/vibrates for a split second. Is that the same for others?

      • +2

Yes, that's the same for me, but you can turn off haptic feedback in the settings menu if you want to get rid of that (or save battery power).

        • Ah yes, forgot about the haptic feedback. Thank you.

    • Thanks letmejoin and daydream

Try your fingernail, you'll find it makes sliding and swiping twice as nice.

  • If you're in Sydney, according to the AusPost 13 number, the only 4 auspost shops as of 5 minutes ago with stock of 2 or more units in Sydney are:
    * Chester Hill
    * Padstow
    * Strathfield
    * Strawberry Hills office on Cleveland street.

The hotline lady was very helpful and tried the Strawberry Hills shop (closest one to me) a total of 3 times, but they never answered the phone. So I ordered it online through Optus instead with free delivery. If the auspost shops were a bit closer and/or I knew for sure they had stock, I'd have gone there though just to get it now.

    • Just a little FYI, I've been told that the stock levels they see is not live but rather as of COB last night and so the lovely rep I spoke to on the 13 number went through to call each store which was showing 2 or more to confirm if they actually had any stock, and most of them didn't.

As for Chester Hill, dont bother, I got the last one there as the sweet thing had put it on hold for me :)

      • +1

Ah cool, thank you for explaining. Had just assumed it was live, but in that case it's more like a ceiling/upper bound. Makes me think that for people who are late to this party that ordering online and waiting for it to be delivered is probably now the way to go.

        • +10

LOL you can't afford to ever be fashionably late to an ozbargain party, otherwise you'll only find an empty store with the crickets chirping and a disorientated sales rep in the corner repeatedly muttering "no no, please let me go, I dont have any more stock.."

  • +7

@yikes (OP) thanks for posting this deal, I'm loving it and it's amazing for the price!

But gotta say ozbargain is worse than peer pressure, I see a good deal, see everyone buy and before I know it I have a room full of shiny new toys that I probably didn't need. Oh well :)

    • +3

So true…one too many devices…….lol. 2 Laptops, Desktop, Smartphone, Tablet…. Materialism at its best! ><

  • For those in WA who can't wait for free delivery and want to pick one up today, I KNOW that there is a spare one at the Claremont post office (Bayview Terrace), and their phone number is 93849543 if you want to call and reserve. Good luck!

  • Managed to grab the last one in stock at telechoice eastgardens

  • +1

For $100 this tablet rocks! Its no ipad but it sure does the trick as a basic web sufer. Thanks to the OP

  • Oooooops, it seems that the QV BigW store is still selling the tablet in $149 and they told me that
they don't have the tablets in stock……

    The crap AD….

    • No, the people at Big W are crap. The ad is for real. Should be $99 at all stores.

Are we talking about QV in Melb? Cos i rung them this morning and this guy told me they were getting some in the afternoon or tomorrow.

      • Yes you are right.
And I went there around 1:30pm today.
They still didn't have them in stock….

        crap BigW……

  • Hi, anyone knows how to install app to sd card? Thanks.

    • download apps2sd from market

    • or install "link2sd", which lets you install normally, and then move the app over to the sd card (or back, if desired).

  • Could not find in setting menu.

    • Plug it into the PC via the USB cable

  • Apologies for my ignorance, but when it says the bundle expires on 1 Feb 2012 does that mean if I don't activate or recharge by that date then it's gone? Can I still receive calls after that date? When I recharge can I just recharge broadband and not calls? Thanks guys

    • +1

You could probably still use the sim as a prepaid one (and add credit to it) but you might miss out on the "bonus" data/calls associated with this bundle. Best to get the info direct from Optus re: their interpretation of the T&C's.

  • I use app to sd free. Do a search in the android market. There are a few there. Sharon

  • So who got the bundled plastic ZTE-branded case? It folds back as a stand, and has a magnetic clasp.

Last week from Optus online I got the case. From Allphones now, no case.
I suspect the newer stock from ZTE has no case. Or is/was it a bonus from optus-online?
Its nice to have as there are no cheap or good ones on ebay.
The ones there are "leather" and look like they are help on by elastic straps on the corners. Yuck.

And BTW, THERE IS NO FRONT CAMERA.

    • I got the bundled one with the case. I think bonus case only from optus store? BigW doesn't have it. My sim activation expires on Jan 2012 so I think it's the older badge. No spec difference so i dun mind. Yeah NO FRONT CAMERA!

    • Got mine from an Optus Dealer. No case :(

And I think people may be mixing up the light sensor for front camera. The ZTE website doesn't state any front facing camera, nor does the Optus site.

And anyway, Android isn't configured for front facing cameras (as yet)

      • +1

There is an ZTE V9 Plus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1fFeSd4pfY) so unless some people somehow got one of those by mistake…

        • The ZTE Light has a front camera. It's the same thing, but for markets other than Australia. I guess they used them to fulfil the Optus order because they were lying around.

    • Got a photo of the bundled case? Any brand on it/the packaging or is it OEM?

      • I said the brand is ZTE, so yes, it is Original Equipment Manufacturer.
Anything not from ZTE would not be OEM.

        • Saw that but as plenty of cheap covers have company branded logos, copyrighted characters, etc printed that aren't from those respective companies was just curious…

    • There some of the more expensive faux-leather cases (ie. above $10) which don't have the hurl-inducing elastic straps.

      Here's the one I chose: (it's $15)
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Leather-Case-Skin-ZTE-light-V9-sc…

and a list of all available cases on Ebay:
      http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=ZTE+V9

A case may not even be necessary for some but could help protect the unit from damage. I'm interested in what the consensus is.

      • Wonder if that magnetic clasp would get in the way of using the screen? Maybe with usage it will stay down. Definitely would want a backup screen protector (for when the original lifts up).

      • Just out of interest, how did you get on with the delivery and fit of the case you chose?

  • ordered one from oputs website, great deal for a cheap basic android tab, i could use it as a GPS, ebook reader and browse internet. thank you OP.

  • +1

Got mine today from Optus store at Australia Fair. I was the first of the day to get one around 10ish and came back 2 hours later as a mate wanted 3 (for the father, mother and himself) and they were sold out.

Who knew ozbargainers liked to sleep in.

Very nice device and with Cynogen mod 7 and overclock it runs a breeeeeeze.

  • Is it locked to Optus or can you throw another sim to run other networks?

    • +1

      How to unlock from OPTUS

      http://nextgenserver.com/calculator/

      or

      http://www.jictechnology.co.uk/calculator/index.php

      Use the ZTE Blade option
whack in your IMEI it instantly gives your your code.
Pop another sim in , asks for code , enter code and unlocked

    • u r able to do so by doing an unlock.. kindly search for links in previous pages.. The basic information r mostly being discussed previosuly.

      • I was sure that this must be discussed before but was feeling too lazy to troll through the pages of this popular deal:))

        • I posted it on the first page.

  • Just bought one from optus website.

Does anyone knows how long it takes for the delivery to eastern suburb in Sydney?

    • Deliveries
All deliveries for mobile phones and mobile broadband services will be delivered in 24 to 48 hours of order completion within a metropolitan area. If you are outside a metropolitan area the delivery will take between 48 to 72 hours to arrive.

  • does anyone know how the custom rom 2.3.4 performs against the standard 2.2? or whats different?

  • Hi guys, did you get a confirmation email from Optus after placing the order online? I just entered my credit card and delivery details and hit "place order" button but the webpage froze and I couldn't go back to the previous page…I am now too scared to try again as I don't want to buy two by accident.

    • +1

I had confirmation email within seconds I placed the order. I think yours not been place yet, but don't count on me.

      • Thanks Cuek, I guess I will have to wait a few days to be safe, see if my card has been charged, anyway it's not a must have item for me, I guess I only wanted it because it's cheap and everyone else is getting one :P

        • +4

I only wanted it because it's cheap and everyone else is getting one

Welcome to ozbargain! You're among friends :)

        • hehehe me too, I have no need for it but for $50 ($50 credit included) it's a a bargain toy!

        • +2

and my toy cupboard is getting very full thanks to OzB :-)
we need a bargain on toy cupboards now.

    • The optus web page seemed to freeze on me, but when I looked closely there was unobtrusive text saying my Credit card number was incorrect. Fixed that up, hit place order again and I was sent to an order confirmed page. Maybe your CC number had a typo?

    • Has anyone tried to track their order here http://optus.messengerpostcouriers.com.au/ ?
Mine says order number not found.

      • Order Tracking
To keep track of your online order please use the order confirmation number above and go to www.optus.com.au/track Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your order to be visible on this site

        • dealt with optus before. the tracking number does not work for 5 days. call up and complain. Optus reply with "strange", item has been sent out 4 days ago.
after the complain, the item shows 2 days later. Post office people said Optus never sent out until yesterday.

prepare for whole bunch of liers

      • Order not found for me as well but I ordered it 10 hours ago.
In any case, I received my email confirmation straight away.

  • +3

I'm thoroughly having fun with mine. I'm new to droid though, anyone know of any good forums I can go to? So I can figure out what to install, how to overclock, best apps, etc.

Also, I wonder how many people I will see on the trains this week with myTabs, and I wonder if I'll have the gall to be all like, "OzBargain, eh? wink"

    • Yeah, see you tomorrow with mine lol

  • I bought one of these for $99 yesterday at BigW, before the sale officially started, thanks to someone here mentioning BigW in store prices get updated at 2pm the day before.

My question is, does anyone have good info on using the MyTab as a wifi hotspot or tether or whatever? Ideally I'd like to put the MyTab in the most receptive spot and share its 3g connection with other devices.

    • +3

You have to upgrade to froyo 2.2 to use it as a wifi hotspot. Once upgraded, goto Settings> wireless&networks.

  • Has anyone tried to play Pocket Legends on this tablet? This game is the only reason why I would want a tab now. The game's got a d-pad on the left and touch on the right, I wonder if you can play it on this device properly?

    • O M F G
You had better not just got me into another MMO.
Downloaded without really looking to try it out for you & when it loaded up I thought, wait a second, waaaiiit.
Seems to play ok. Some slight lag with first boss load. First town with NPC's had around 25 other toons & had no lag. Had a bit of trade chat which is always nice to see to show game isn't dead. People seemed helpful, so I knew it wasn't a major city :)
Controls seem fine. Not sure if those suction joysticks work on resistive screens.
This new lvl2 frost spell seems perfect for BG's. Where 2 queue :)
Did a quick search on how to setup an OzB guild, but leave it to those who know the game.
Is the game any good ?

      • Well it was suppose to be the WoW of iOS, well before GL released Chaos & Order at least.

Haven't played it though, and don't intend to(was hard to quite gaming, don't wanna get sucked back in lol)So can't comment much on the actual game

    • i saw a review and in the video it looked like you could only press one button on the screen at a time, so like you either move, or you hit. can't move and hit at the same time :(

Order and Chaos is pretty much WoW on the iphone. I have it and it looks pretty much the same.

  • Device not showing in android market.

Could not for the life of me, get the new v9 to show up. Won't bore you with the troubleshooting steps. Shame you can't kill off old devices, only hide them.

On your Android: menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all (tab at top)>Market>clear data.

This will clear your data and log your Android out of the market. When you launch the market app and agree to the terms of service again, it will sign you sign your Android back into the market and it should be visible on the web market.

    Thanks Droid-eye http://phandroid.com/2011/02/04/solved-android-market-websit…

  • -1

    No Wi-Fi proxy ?
Think I'm too tired to do any more searching, but is it for real there is no Wi-Fi proxy setup.
I thought I read somewhere that 2.2 would add this feature, but can't find it.

    • +4

Yeah, it's in there…look harder! I'd tell you but I don't want to deprive you of this valuable self-directed learning opportunity! ;)

  • Are there any places open at midnight that sell this?

    • pancake parlour

      • lol or pancakes at the rocks if you're in sydney..

    • prob only optus online, most stores don't have stock any way, except optus stores

    • Says Taiwan when I look up your location, so don't know whether this is relevant, but Optus World at World Square, Sydney is getting more stock, and I was told they'd arrive in couple of days.

In the mean time, your best bet is probably online, free delivery, and from past experience it'll arrive at your door within 2 days of order confirmation in metropolitan areas

  • Hi
