Crysis Remastered is coming up as $15.03 for me (not $2.14 as posted)

Good value for the bundle though

Edit: Bundle listed as $29.29 (not $22.20 as posted).

OP can you please double-check your prices?

    • +7

I believe you can get that price only if you own the original Crysis.

      • +1

        That checks out.

        $42.95 - $27.92 (65% sale discount) - $12.89 (30% original Crysis owners discount) = $2.14

Good deal for those who own the original, but with the way they structured the discount rules it could end up being free if they ever do a 70% off sale.

        • +2

Definitely need to amend the deal.

$2.14 is a great deal, $15.03 means I'll leave it for another sale

Great game, but does it still run?

    • Good point. As OP said, maybe a 50 series. :)

I have a 3060, I might have to try out Crysis 2. Last time I played was with my old GeForce 2 card….

    • what can be a concern here? the fact that the game is so old that won't run on modern hardware config, or more of a remastered versions requiring more grunt ? I am on RTX 2060OC, am I ok to get it without worrying about needing to upgrade hardware?

      • +1

I was just kidding. A play on words from the old meme "but can it run Crisis"
I don't have knowledge about 2060, but if a GTX 1080 can run it, I'm sure the 2060 may fair ok?

  • +3

Also available via game pass if people have that subscription I believe

  • +4

Gonna have to upgrade my PC for this.

  • Bugger, had about two fiddy in change from trading cards, never actually played Crysis, poo.

  • +1

ooo they remastered it? is it worth it though? I finished all 3 games like back when they were released back in the days where no computer could run these games in at max settings lol. I remember when these games were like teh benchmark for an amazing gaming rig if you could run crysis, not at max setting but just run it you had an amazing pc lol.

The golden era of PC gaming!

    • Yeah I played the first Crysis heaps! My PC was never good enough to play 2. 🤣 But I would start a new game on high difficulty and limit myself to either no weapons or just a handgun. Then using the invisible and strength modes, go pick up guys and throw them at other guys or throw drums at them etc. Used to love that gameplay of being fully stealth, camping out and waiting for the right time to strike.

I tried that with Far Cry 3, was OK but not the same.

      • man that game used to take me so long to play because I would be stealth in cloak like 90% of the time lol. if I didn't have to kill I wouldn't and just get objectives done in complete stealth, now that was hard!! lol.

        • Totally! I remember doing that too, that's what was great about that game (as opposed to Battlefield / Medal of Honour type shoot-em-ups), was the open gameplay and alternative ways to achieve the goals of the game.

In Far Cry you can develop all these new ways of taking out the enemy guys but it's not quite the same because you get seen so quickly then all hell breaks loose.

  • Needs a RTX 5090 to run

    • wtf really? you mean running it at 4k at max settings? with RT on? I have a 5070 TI pretty sure it will cut it.

      • +2

No, I was being sarcastic. Sorry, it's an old meme relating to Crysis hahaha

    • $7k ??

      • 7k to play a remastered 18 year old game yay!!

  • weird when I paid for it it only cost me 22 bucks :D when I click on the link it says 29 lol.

    Cloak engaged

    • +1

Wallet engaged, can't wait to play the trilogy for the first time!

Only ever watched my bro play yonks ago.

      • +1

It's honestly pretty fun, at least back in the day it was.

  • Ok so in reality, 4k without ray tracing, what does it need to run?

  • How much better/worse are the remasters if you've played the originals? I've heard Crysis 1 remaster was based on the console version which had less foliage and missing gameplay and levels.

Maximum throw a North Korean through a shack

      ?

Will there be a Crysis 4??

    • +4

I think we are living through it

    • -1

nah once you see the ending of crysis 3 you will understand why there can't be a crysis 4 they would need to remake it if they want to start it over again.

  • -6

Most overhyped PC games of all time.

Other than being useful benchmarking tools back in their day, the gameplay was absolutely unimaginative, mediocre, CoD-derived bullsh*t.

    • +7

Found the guy whose PC couldn't run it

      • -3

        Hurrrr that's original.

Found the guy who probably still pre-orders mindless, triple-A hype train dogsh*t titles and recycles 18-year old jokes because they can't be f**ked explaining why these glorified tech demos actually ever mattered.

I finished the first game well after its release when running it maxxed out was trivial and the graphics porn sheen had well and truly worn off to reveal the turd-rolled-in-glitter gameplay that was circa 2003 and basically just a rehash of the first FarCry.

          pre-orders mindless, triple-A hype train dogsh*t

          I pre-ordered Crysis 1 back in 2007. I still have the steelbook.

can't be f**ked explaining why these glorified tech demos actually ever mattered.

Allow me since I was there from Day 1. It was incredibly fun, had a good story, great amosphere, good mechanics, and was the last proper PC game. Its graphics (still impressive 18 years later) looked good and only got better as time went on and you upgraded your PC. After finishing the game you can play around in the sandbox or play the game with unlimited speed, strength, and health to explore the map and have even more fun. I have played the game many times!

The game more than lived up to the hype. The only people that say otherwise were the ones who missed the train at the time. I'm sorry you missed out on being there.

          absolutely moronic post

yes it is derived from farcry as a base technologically but way more advanced and making that game look like a corridor shooter with mixed outdoor and indoor environments. things this game has that far cry doesn't
          - super speed and strength so you engage with enemies directly in melee unlike far cry where everything is still stuck in 1998 HL1 gameplay
          - physics sandbox, not a decorative one either since most objects can be picked up and thrown synergising with strength
          - actual stealth mechanics beyond sneaking up to an enemy with crouch
          - taking enemies as hostage using them as human shields
          - attachments that matter and effect how gameplay and encounters are approached
          - enemies beyond humanoids
          - vehicles, tanks, vehicular combat
          - destructible environments and buildings

but go on and make up more lies on this website instead of actually playing video games. nothing about this game is like modern AAA movie-style games. maybe you played it on the easiest difficulty to simulate that experience, if you played it at all?

  • The reviews of the remasters make them sound pretty underwhelming, would've thought it'd be an "easy win" situation but I guess not?
