  • I've had their internet in 2023 and it was a bit meh. Maybe worth a retry since i've moved buildings which has fttp

    • After seeing this deal I signed up and moved from Exetel. Spintel hasn't been very good so far, my gaming pings to overseas servers have doubled. Speed test is returning acceptable download and upload for the plan though 50/20.

  • Spintel has provisioned my 1000/50 as 750/50, I've called customer support to sort this out and they've raised a service request for it to be re-provisioned. However, after 1 week I called back to follow up on an update and they advised that the ticket has been closed with no notes and a new ticket will need to be raised again. They told me from a billing perspective 750 is the same price as 1000 so there's no dispute that can be raised. In all honesty the speed is not a problem, it's the princple. I placed the order for 1000/50, I'm paying for 1000/50, I'm expecting 1000/50 and not quietly provisioning the 750/50 without any comms.

  • It looks like Spintel should be avoided based on users' experiences.

    • 100% I have had their service for less than a month and regretting every day. Time to go back to Leaptel. Just curious to find out if anyone knows whether I can sign up for the 12 month deal being $89.00 again instead of paying $104.00

      • Check with leaptel online chat, and I am curious as well.

Just spoke to someone at Leaptel and they will not offer me the 12 months rate since I was their ex client. Sounds nothing but BS to me knowing I am not their client anymore and their website doesn't say clearly that I am not eligible for the deal since I am an ex client. They have offered me unofficial rate of $99 for the 250/21 speed.

          • @mataurus: it is leaptel's reduced promotion to ex customers, $5 discount pm.

          • @mataurus: Leave Leaptel for 12 months. Go to Buddy Telco or Superloop. After 12 months you can get the Leaptel intro deal a second time.

            Buddy Telco 1000/50 $99/m ongoing.
            Superloop 1000/50 $95/m for 6 months.
            Superloop 250/25 $89/m for 6 months.

  • I was going to change from exetel, currently paying $80 mth for 100/20 to the 250/25 for the same price, but when i called them to cancel, they advised if you can wait til September, I will get the 500/50 for the same price. Said put it in writing and i would like mostly stay and just use speed upgrades til then. I also get free static IP with Exetel and good game pings
To my suprise I got an email from Exetel about the free upgrade
looking into further definitely looks like a thing, just no definite time frame
superloop have information on it, which owns exetel .https://www.superloop.com/blog/nbn-speed-upgrade/

    • In your example though, if you moved to Spintel for $80 a month, you would eventually be upgraded to 750/50 (250/25 Mbps will be replaced or upgraded to 750/50 Mbps, offering more than double the performance). It looks like this is an NBN Co speed tier upgrade so I assume it will apply across all providers.

      • Yes but with exetel I get free static ip, and reports the ping for WA customer aint that great for spintel

  • Have just switched from TPG to Spintel and it's been very smooth so far.
I had to contact TPG to get the auto cancellation charges reversed

    • I have the same problem with TPG. Do you think they purposely apply the "auto cancellation charges"?

      • It's automatically triggered but they can't charge it because of the price hike

  • hi guys - am i doing something wrong? I can only see 750 for $90/month

    • Did you click the right side of the image on Ozbargain, that says Spintel? You should see several plans when you scroll down. I can still see the 250/25.

    • No, the speed was 1000/50 $90/m ongoing when it was posted. SpinTel has updated the speed and price to…

      750/50 $90/m ongoing.
      1000/50 $90/m for 6 months ($100.95/m ongoing).

Look at Buddy Telco, Leaptel and Superloop 1000/50.

  • Transferred from Leaptel to Spintel 27/05/25 took about 20 minutes before i got confirmation from both providers. Signed up to 250 $80 with Spintel. It was easy. Service no issues encountered so far in any way. Did a speed test, noticed server selected by default SYDNEY, I'm in Melbourne, when the speed test run to default server as autoselected gives me down speed ~250 and 21ms ping. [Leaptel was 7ms]. When forced to Melbourne server gives me ~180 instead of plan 250. Just an observation on my part, some might find this useful. I use the internet for streaming so havent noticed any difference from that stand point, works as it should.

  • Unfortunately offer is now over. I have been with them just over two months. It has been fantastic so far. I think it is still the cheapest 250 and 750 plan around. I live in Sydney and I am on the 250 plan (which will become 750 in September). Glad I locked in at $80.

Got email saying it's going up by $5 per month, from 1 July 2025. 🙄

Edit : my plan is 250mbps, so going up to $85 per month.

    • Same, just changed provider after less than a month!

  • Just got email that from 1st July price is going up to $85. The $10 discount is lifetime, but then price can go up. Will probably stay until september when HFC get plans update and then perhaps move to Amaysim. Amaysim has $80 for 100/20 which will become 500 then. Even though It's only $5 less it will be worth for me as 750 will be a bit of an overkill.

So the lifetime here is a mist since they can take benefits of no contract and increase the price to whatever they like …
