      You can but note you cannot split payments on Vicroads online, even with Bpay/Sniip. So it's basically restricted to 3 month regos

                @bbqwer: I think it's ~10 in ~12 hours. Doesn't seem to be rolling though, ie the clock doesn't reset for another 10 immediately after you last payment.

                See link below for government easy pay which lets you do another ~10 in 12 hours.

        I called Giftcards.com.au and they said it was considered a suspicious transaction. They told me to wait 2 hours and try again, but if it still doesn’t work, to use somewhere else. There must be a lot of people using these on ATO right now LOL

            @mauza: Glad to see this. My 10th ATO payment was declined. I did 5 via my.gov.au and 4 using government easy pay, and the 10th just was declined. I also tried paying my council rate with that 10th card, and also declined. So, it's definitely some incorrect fraud prevention on Giftcards' side, not the ATO's side.

      Additonal cards failed after that. Same with the council direct website. I guess it'll work after a few hours.

    Does anyone have a solid figure on how many of these can be "safely" used with the ATO without being flagged (for audit)? Or at least the experience of using 100 of these a year, for example?

    My understanding is that ATO flags you for anything irregular - paying taxes too late, paying too early apparently both earn you a flag. If multiple flags lead to an audit then it would be way too much hassle to be worth the points here. I wonder if paying via 100s of small prepaid cards also earn you a flag.

      As much as audits are a PITA - if you're not doing anything wrong, the payment method is the last of your concerns.

      I've read about people putting through 100k+ with prepaid cards quarterly. No idea if they're exaggerating or not. Also no idea how they get that quantity of cards.

        Ive put through 100k+, back in the days when it physical cards only for this promo.

        The only issue was when I had a 25k+ credit in one of my accounts, and I was told I was unable to get a cheque for the balance.

        Had to transfer it to another ATO account that had a debt (family member), took 3+ months.

          I currently have this issue but with a much smaller amount. I haven't been given the option to transfer it. I haven't worried about it because I know I have a debt at some point to balance it out.

          However, I suspect it's holding up one of my tax returns that's stuck in balancing account. Every time I phone up about the tax return, they say they'll escalate and a few days later I get a call about not being able to issue a refund due to the gift card payment. Not idea if the two issues are related but it does seem like they are.

                Or trasnfer the balance to another ATO payment reference number

    Very doggy card provider with customer service/ call centre in India, I guess? Called them 10+ times and being escalated multiple times in 8 months. Every time they "guarantee" or "promise" they will send me a replacement card but never receive one. They also refused to provide a number or re-direct my call to their finance department or the department responsible for replacement card.
    Lucky I still have my receipt, sent Coles all of the details and got a Coles refund card.

      Suggest you report to its regulating authority otherwise you could wait forever.

      And to answer whoever is asking, these cards, even bought digital/online, are vulnerable. Even it's not scammed, but if the issuing company believes so for whatever reason, you will have to fight a painful war to prove yourself with all the correct card creds is not a scammer but the actual owner of it.

    Has anyone had issues with the payment by using CBA and Westpac credit cards? I have tried both and the website gives me the message as ‘transaction failed, please contact customer service’. I have checked with bank and they didn’t block the transaction.

      I got the error on the website and also got a notification from my Westpac app saying it blocked the transaction.
      I said to unblock it and tried again and got the same error on the website.
      I’m using Safari’s on iPhone though so I’m going to try again on a PC

        I have tried again and it’s still showing transaction failed, contact customer service. I think it’s not the bank causing the issue, it’s Coles gift card issuer might have reached the daily limit for sale.

          I am a previous CBA credit card client. Used to fail the transactions for giftcards.com.au. After some days this is ok. Suspect something with gambling lock.

          Current Westpac credit card client. Transaction and card was blocked for $2.5k payment. Since then there is no luck for successful transaction today…

                westpac said Coles will need to contact mastercard to have it unblock
