  • Can you specify a delivery date/time with them? E.g. after hours delivery?

    • +1

      You choose a 3 hour window, eg 6-9pm, 7-10pm.

  • +2

''Sorry, you are not eligible for this coupon promotion.'' So it won't work for everyone.

    • +2

Wow, they must've actually done the right thing and tagged 'old' accounts. That's what this promotion is for after all.

It's interesting though. A lot of vendors don't go to that effort with coupons. (Thank goodness!)

    • I got the same error, but still got free delivery for my order.

  • The earliest you can get anything delivered is usually about 2 days after you put the order in.

You can specify a time-frame for the delivery to be done, but it's usually a "between 12pm and 3pm" type of deal.

    • +1

I ordered 6pm last friday night and I was still able to choose the delivery space of 6am-9am next day Saturday. My order arrived 7am next day Saturday.

  • what if you're not home when they deliver? Do they just leave it at your front door?

    • +1

      From my order confirmation email:

Please remember you must be home to accept delivery of your order unless you have provided written permission in the "Delivery Instructions" section of the website.

Guys, never had woolies delivered before, but are the prices of items the same as in the shops or do they inflate them?

    • -2

Prices are the same, and all catalogue items are available online too.

      • +4

        nonsense

    • +12

no, they are inflated by ~7%. so you are paying for someone to pick them off the shelves

eg homebrand oats 750g $1.19 on shelf vs $1.28 online
or $0.99 for 900g at supa iga or aldi

      • +3

Thats a small increase… you should see the frozen/chilled products, huge increases for example $3.20 to $3.80

        • +1

i didn't realise the mark up was that bad

        • +5

I guess it's the overhead of the personal shopper, but it doesn't scale well when you want a full large shopping list delivered… I used it when I broke my leg and couldn't drive to the shops - very handy. But I found the inflated prices fairly hard to handle.

    • are the prices of items the same as in the shops or do they inflate them?

catalogue specials are same price, else more expensive

  • +1

Thanks going to give this a try, used to always have food delivered in England.

  • +7

Just to make this clear as some people still don't understand even though this is mentioned every supermarket delivery deal.

Online prices are more expensive, certain products can be a decent amount more.

This does not include specials and (I think) Fruit and Veg.

    Same with Coles.

This is still a good deal, but if you are doing a big shop and don't have to drive a long distance, you should drive in and shop yourself. This also means you can get reduced items etc so you can save more.

Also not all products are in the online shop.

AFAIK its products from their bakery, products that are not at 100% of their stores and I'm sure a few others.

I already counted around 6 products I buy that I can't buy from the online shop.

  • Works with the free 1.25l bottle of solo promotion ending tomorrow? :D

    • if you have an online scanner :)

    • i scanned the voucher and put it in my trolley succesfully… but it automatically kick the voucher out when i checkout online

  • The delivery fee is waived for first-timers too.

  • Minimum spend of $30 and it gives an error but the code applies the delivery discount just fine on a new account I registered minutes ago.

  • Cool thanks, used it in conjunction with the Musashi protein drinks on special!

  • -2

    I thought it's 3 free green apples…;P

  • +1

For the avoidance of doubt all new accounts get their first delivery free regardless. That is why people who join up are getting free delivery. I suspect the code is not being applied.

I referenced it in this post:

    • +1

Agreed. It would be interesting to know if those with new accounts get free delivery using the coupon in subsequent orders though.

  • +1

Great, just got 2 cases of beer delivered :)
    thanks

  • Did not work for me on existing account. My last online order was 21 days ago.

  • Does not work for everyone

Sorry, you are not eligible for this coupon promotion. Please call our Customer Service Team on 1800 000 610 for assistance.

  • had the 1st of hopefully 8 orders delivered free and received an unexpected/unintended bonus upsize on the nappies (jumbo pack instead of bulk)…

anyone else had such luck? :)

  • -2

Didn't work for me - advised I needed to call Customer Support.

    • Further back in this thread, we've established that it seems to work only for accounts that haven't made a purchase for a 'while'. What we don't know is how long that is. For me it was 6 months.

    • Why the neg on the deal, ambient? I said in the text that it won't work for accounts that are frequently used. What's the story with your account?

  • I had the following email on 4 April, and have now used two of the five free deliveries. I'm guessing they sent it because I registered for their online shopping service months ago, but had never lodged an order. Well, not until they sent the email, at least!

"Get started with your first online shop and enjoy FREE DELIVERY on your FIRST FIVE*orders. We think that once you’ve tried online shopping you’ll love how quick and easy it is.

Things to note for your Five Free Deliveries exclusive offer:
    • Offer only applies to email address [email protected]
    • Offer valid on orders placed with Woolworths Online from Thursday 4th April until Wednesday 12th June 2013 AEST."

  • BTW anyone knows if free delivery for new account applies only once to an address or every person in the same house who creates an account get free delivery for new account?
    Thanks

  • ps: still working for me, despite the email saying the voucher expires 27/4 - coupon works for orders >=$30.

    • fyi your deal description states Monday 27th May 2013 :)

      • Thanks for the heads-up. I'll leave it open until it expires - pretty ok deal if all you buy are items on special. If anyone notices that the coupon expires, please message here, thanks!
