  • Cheap!

  • do these need an ac adaptor ?

    • yes

      • Yes, as in, needs to be purchased separately or just needs one to work but comes with it?

        • Comes with it

          This is an external hard drive.

          Why the hell did someone neg me??

          I had to go to the website to find out if it was a portable or external hard drive(Therefore requiring an external power source).

          I posted here so others did not have to do the same, as it is not written in the title or description.

          @hothed

          as it is not written in the title or description.

          3.5" = AC Powered

          2.5" = USB Powered

          Hope this helps

          I +'ed you, initially even I thought it was a usb-powered portable drive, but it's not.

        • +1

          I believe you were negged because you were stating the obvious. The hard drive is an external drive because it plugs in via a USB port.

  • Just got last one from top ryde it seems as now shows low stock :)

    Woah, prices have fallen so much!

    Stock at Chadstone! Un-believ-able!!

    • don't get your hopes up. I made that mistake once, and was then told they only had ex-repair. They promised it was an untouched brand new substitute unit, which also turned out not to be true.

  • I entered my postcode and click and collected and Doncaster the Pines. I ordered about 10 minutes ago and said there was stock in Chadstone and The Pines in Australia. No idea why I bought one though given I already of terabytes in external storage…

  • Same as this one, slightly more expensive. Still a good deal

  • Fairfield NSW shows as In stock if anyone's looking around there.

  • No stock here in Rockhampton QLD.

  • I managed to score one in Ballarat, VIC

    • You could start a business shipping sale items from Ballarat stores, they always have the last stock.

    Don't use 3.5" as portables anymore, but this is probably the cheapest tb for $ hard disk i've ever seen.

  • FYI only store i could find near me with stock was Caroline Springs, placed my order:
    Caroline Springs — In Stock

  • Newcastle West NSW has em, too far away for me but hope that helps someone

  • Tried everywhere in the Sydney metro area, not available

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Mentone vic 3194 still got them, just picked 1 today

  • Got mine from top ryde today salesguy couldt believe how cheap it was lol

  • I just picked up a 3TB Seagate Expansion (USB2/3) from BigW for $128 (reg. $148). It's in their latest catalogue. Might be of interest to peeps who missed out on this one.

  • I love how Dick Smith seem to think that that specs tab shouldn't include insignificant details like rpm, read speed, write speed, mean time before failure. Probably because things like LED indicator presence is much important *facepalm.
