  • As long as you don't mind dealing with a resistive screen it's a fairly good price for a bluetooth capable device I guess.

The quickest, easiest way to use your TomTom Via 160 GPS device is simply talk.

I'm sure this should read, "most frustrating way." The voice controls on TomTom are certainly not one of its stronger points.

There are still a few Tom Tom 220 about @$29.95 with lifetime maps at Target. Ring around. See the end of this thread: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100687

  • What's the deal with the lifetime updates? Isn't it just the "life" of the model that tomtom determine? So could be 2-3 years?

  • Does everyone on the planet have a capable GPS in their phone? Unless you are a delivery driver, or living in a foreign city why is a separate device necessary?

Even iPhone user have turn by turn now don't they?

    • Yeah they do but driving into the country one night I got lost and my iPhone and iPad didnt have a signal so i had to pull out my trusty TomTom. Extreme circumstance though

  • I bought my Tom Tom XL about two years ago but hardly use it since my phone has GPS builtin. I find it easier to user the phone's GPS then my TomTom. No need to pull it out and attached to the windscreen plus GPS signal takes longer then the phone.
