False advertising in some cases, such as: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/A3434/sony-headphones-mdrnc8…

$21.98 off $99.95 is certainly not 40% off, despite the "Thats 40% OFF" tag on the page. Price is also ridiculous considering the same headphones can be had for ~$25 shipped to Australia from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009A6D1NI/

  • if only they had the xba-3 with 40% off.. been trying to get a 2nd pair

The XBA 01 and 02 seem to be mispriced, however.

The 02 models are selling for what seems like very cheap at $58

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/A8765/sony-balanced-armature…

I just put in a click and collect order for the XBA2s for my local DSE. We'll see how we go with them, but at 58 clams they might serve as a reasonable backup for my DBA02 Mk2s.

  • Any more suggestions which ones of these i should consider buying?

  • Holy jeebus, at the XBA 1/2 prices.

  • if you miss out the XBA02, this price is not too bad:

  • The XBA series earphone is a great bargain!

  • Love my MDR-ZX600.

  • Was going to get this one: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/A8746/sony-noise-cancelling-…

But I found it for half that plus $6 shipping on ebay. Pass.

  • Just bought a XBA-2 in Nunawading, good quality!

    • i have to goto bondi junction from city today to collect mine.

  • I put an order in last night for the XBA-2. Still waiting for confirmation to let me know it's ready for collection. There could be a chance I won't get it as the place where I put an order in now shows out of stock and the stock could very well be taken by a DSE staff when they first got in to work this morning.

  • Just picked my XBA-2's from local DSE in Canberra. 58 bucks. It's weird, the shelf price is $98, which is way, way cheap.

Not bad for 58 bucks, but gee I'd be miffed if I paid 100+ for these IEMs.

      In the drawer they go….

  • just picked up a xba1 but its semi faulty right out of the box?
one side wasnt working… jiggled the cable at the socket - its ok now…. makes me think these arent very durable

  • I bought a XBA 1 2 weeks ago for $49 and a XBA 2 today for $58.

Actually I can see to much differences between two earphones.

There should be more bottom end in the XBA 2. I found the XBA 1 an extraordinarily boring IEM. Fast and responsive, like any BA should be, but very narrow soundstage and absolutely lifeless.

The XBA2, which I've only tried today (I don't believe in burn-in for BA IEMS) is better in almost all categories, but the soundstage is still underwhelming, the instrument separation and clarity becomes poor as soon as you throw anything moderately complex at it, and it really needs the tweeter of the XBA3 to put out a more balanced spectrum.

If I didn't own much better headphones, I think I'd be reasonably happy with the XBA 2. I won't be returning them, but I can't see them getting a great deal of use.

  • no stock at any dick smith.

What's the point of having discount if consumers cannot get it.

    What a waste!

  • Picked up a pair of XBA-2's at Robina today. Saw one more left and a few XBA-1's on the clearance table.

  • Also saw the XBA-2 on sale for 20% off at the Sony center shop…. at $229.
