  • Does this offer any features that Photoshop doesn't? Or does it do anything better than Photoshop?

If I remember correctly, it had really good noise reduction and other tools which PS doesn't really have (or at least the same amount of control). It's probably more comparable to Lightroom, rather than PS. But for free, it's a bargain.

If you don't want advertising in your inbox untick "Ja, bitte halten Sie mich über DxO Produkte auf dem Laufenden." before you click "Bestaetigen".

Also the pdf with the list of supported cameras for the free version 6 is just above the email entry box.

thank you so much for posting this
logged in just to say thanks :D

  • Thanks for the link, I've been meaning to give DXO a try for ages, its come highly recommended by some photographer acquaintances and its a hell of a lot cheaper than Photoshop (though not Lightroom)

(oops just checked the compatibility.. only one of my cameras is supported. darn)

  • Hi all, I picked up a DSE Sony Nex f3 with the deal the other day. This software says supports nex 3…can anyone confirm my suspicion this leaves me high and dry

  • I have downloaded the software and installed. You have the option of a 30 day trial or insert a product key to activate.

So is a product key provided via email?

    • Product key is in confirmation email. Mine came straight away.

Should be under "Ihr DxO Optics Pro Freischaltcode lautet:"

      Thanks OP, works a treat!

  • Same question as angers.

It list a promo code of FOTOHITS2013 but obviously that's not the serial number.

    Am I expecting a (very slow) e-mail???

    • GGrr. Never got the code…. :(

  • It's a pretty poor LR replacement. Excellent optical corrections module, especially for people with shitty lenses who have weird distortion that LR struggles with. The NR is decent, but a couple of generations out of date; the new LR does a much better job.

For free, it's okay. But you will either end up buying Lightroom or just using Picasa, depending where you sit on the scale.

It's not even vaguely similar to Photoshop.

  • Is there anyone here using this in conjunction with Lightroom, or as a standalone? Thoughts?

  • This is a great program for fixing lens distortion - it defishes very well. Thanks for posting!\

I use this independently from lightroom to correct for distortion (and some other problems) and then put it back into other programs from my workflow.

Seems to run pretty slow on Windows 7 for me but that might be compatibility issues and I could try alternate compatibility modes to see if that helps.

  • ** WARNING **

I wished I had never installed this program. Google "PACE Anti-Piracy dxo" and you will see that I have sufferred from the same messed up hard drive and performance issues previously reported.

I've learnt my lesson. Will do more research before blindly installing software.
