  • Is there anyway to click and collect? Out of stock for online delivery, but my local store has stock.. However I won't get the chance to go down for a few days, would be nice to put one on hold.

Don't know. Ring them up. They are usually quite friendly at OW.

    • They normally can hold it for you if you request it. :)

I bought one a few weeks ago and returned it, dont buy, the one i bought was used, and wouldnt shred more then 3 pages without jamming, and took about 10 minutes just to get it unjammed before it jammed again. I dont normally neg, but this product is shocking, maybe good for your enemies though.

I've had one of these for over a year. Never had a problem although I don't shred mass amounts of documents at once, I don't have a US flag out front so no need for it.

Well to be honest did you get a new one and try that? Did you ever think that the used one you received was already a faulty unit? If you haven't even given a brand new unit a try your review is meaningless, particularly considering you may have originally received a faulty unit.

      • The unit was returned with bits of paper still jammed in it. It was obviously returned by a frustrated customers. It took me about 7 minutes to pick out the paper jam with tweezers and push bits out with a paddlepop stick. After that it did shred for a bit, but to unjam it was disproportionate to the time it shredded. If you are willing to shred 5 papers and then spend 5-7 mins unjamming the shredder, or are looking for an incredible way to blow your time and patience, buy this product.

It bewilders me that you never took the product back in the first place as it was used and demand a new one.

But if its as bad as you are saying I might get one for my brother.

        • +1 to unity1……you're getting one for your brother just because indian complaint that it is a bad unit!

        • I know how painful it is to unjam a shredder. But you never know, he might get a good one that never jams.

You might as well shred $10… well that's if it doesn't jam while you do it

    • If you review a product you want more than 1 review to judge a product by. At least read the reviews on Amazon to get a better idea http://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B000WKKP0S/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

It is a bit hit and miss. But if you get a working one for $10 that's a bonus. If you realised the product you had purchased was used why wouldn't you take it back and get it replaced for a new one?

      • want more than 1 review to judge a product by

there are 2 reviewers on the site, both gave it 1 / 5

        • On Amazon:
          5 stars - 3 people
          4 stars - 2 people
          3 stars - 1 person
          2 stars - 0 people
          1 star - 2 people

So it looks fine as long as you keep your expectations in check for a $10 shredder.

  • True, so only the 1 star reviews deserve credibility and the other reviews don't?

    • There are only 2 reviews on the OW site for this product.

      • No, I'm talking about the amazon site.

Let's not rip strips off each other over a product that may or may not be able to do likewise.

So I got one, and have been happily shredding all evening (the feds are expected any day now…). Minimal jams, but I'm only doing 3-5 sheets at a time. One problem though - and it does say very clearly on the box and instructions - one minute shredding, 30 minutes cooling down. It shuts off if you just keep it running. Doesn't take 30 mins to reset, but is 5-10 mins. So not good if you hear the feds on the doorstep…
But for low use, few sheets at a time, does the job fine. Bargain for $10.
Might hold back on the credit cards…for now.

    • Does it do CDs too?

Even some of the more expensive models can only be run for a few minutes before needing some cooling down time.

  • Those fearing Commonwealth intrusion should invest in several machines, for faster evidence destruction.

    Hey guys,

Was just at OfficeWorks Bourke St, Melbourne and these have further reduced to $5 ! There were about half a dozen there. I took a photo but I don't know how to add it…

    • Same at OfficeWorks Marketown, Newcastle (bought the last unopened one, the display model is still there). If you click on the op's link it shows the new price on the website.

    • Thanks, updated the price
