HP Envy 6-1113TX Sleekbook (Ultrabook) i7/ 8GB/15" for $655 after $300 Trade-in Cashback @HN

83

I was looking for a decent ultra book (not too expensive) and just found this and I think its really good deal if you have something to trade-in(up to 5 year old). It has i7 processor with 8gb installed RAM, 32gb SS+500gb regular hard drive, 2gb dedicated graphics card, 12 months HP warranty and beats speaker

I couldn't find a better trade-in deal at this price and configurations. Hope this helps if you are looking for replacement of your current laptop.

Cheers

that's why some old netbooks are still popular on Ebay.

  • real price in the title please

  • Is there a link to the $300 cash back deal?

  • +3

Looks to be a good price if you had a $300 value trade in laptop. Most of us don't.

This deal is just saying like. If you have a $1000 gift card it would be free. Zomg!

Have to neg because of mandatory trade in for this… Price.

You don't seem to properly understand how the trade-in works - It's on any laptop less than 5 years old and more than 13". The quality or resale value of the trade-in isn't taken into account in any way.

A lot of people have old shitty laptops lying about, making this not that terrible a condition.

      • they will offer a shitty price for the shitty laptop, have a look at T&c, thay can change the trade in value.

        • See my post at the bottom. I traded in a 5 year old laptop and have had the full $300 approved.

  • Windows 8…
Turns me off to be honest

  • So we can try HP Envy Touch core i5 4-1118TU Sleekbook Laptop for $465.

    Great….thank you for your post
this was much better than posted for $ 715 on OZ http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101766

    • Wonder if this is possible??

  • +4

This is not a bargain unless the condition is met. That is you need to have an old laptop (up to 5 yrs old and screen size is more than 13") to start with and not everyone has an old laptop which means they can't get that discounted price as listed. It may already violate the ozbargain policy.

    • I agree. Also what happens if post inspection they come back and tell you th trade in price is $50. You cant even return the new laptop back to HN.

  • Reading those T&C's gave me a headache. I wonder how they'd feel about my old Aldi 17" Medion laptop being traded in for an i7?

    • T&C Number 14:

      1. For your Trade-In Device to qualify for the full Trade-In Rebate it must, as determined by the Promoter, meet the Trade-In Criteria. If your Trade-In Device does not meet these conditions then your Trade-In Device will be either:

      (a) valued by the Promoter for a fair amount and the Promoter will notify you of that fair amount. You will have 10 days to accept or decline the Promoter's proposed revised Trade-In Rebate. If you do not reply to the Promoter, the Promoter will automatically accept the proposed revised Trade-In Rebate and process it for payment to you. If you decline the revised Trade-In Rebate, then the Promoter will return your Trade-In Device to you;

      (b) returned to you at no cost. 15. The Promotion does not apply to the trade-in of desktops, workstations and netbooks and the Promoter will not accept desktops, workstations or netbooks for trade-in.

And trade-ins conditions I understand are, It should be working 13" or bigger laptop with power code, battery and up to 5 year old.

  • Not clear on the trade in T & C any help ?

1)I dont have a receipt for my old laptop so how can you determine if it less than 5 years old ?
    2) It says should have a battery, I do have a battery but that is a dead cat so always need a power chord ?

    • i called tradeup4cash which is based in UK.

      1. check the bio for manufactured date. As long as it is less than 6 yrs old, it will be fine.
      2. both are required even if the battery holds little charge. it's up to them to decide how much they value the laptop you have given the condition.
  • Not sure whether I should post this as a new deal ($761, $461 with trade in at HN)….

I bought this laptop on Sunday from HN Bondi (for $761). It's classed as $1194 retails. Bondi had it on sale at $1087. There was then an extra 30% off, which brought it down to $761.

I also have an old laptop (5 year old Sony Vaio which has been accepted as trade in - got my confo email this morning. They did not ask for any details of my old laptop except for the model number and age - no proof required). This takes another $300 off (agree that this is not for everyone). $761 is good for this laptop. $461 is even better if you have an old laptop hanging around.

As for Windows 8, I agree it is a pain. I installed a simple app (took 2 seconds) which makes the Operating System run like windows 7 (loads straight to desktop and has start button and menus).

Overall, I did a lot of research and this was the best valued i7 laptop I could find (with decent RAM, graphics card etc).

HN Bondi offer ends on Monday so go quick if you want one. Guessing other HN stores should match, but the Sydney City one wouldn't.

    • Not sure which i7 model was given to you for $761?? You are lucky

      • This model in the link (HP Envy 6-1113TX Sleekbook).

For some reason HN Bondi had a lot better deals than online or other HN stores.

        Was available to everyone.

  • No need to trade in your old computer!

Just go into the store and speak to the manager, I want to buy this computer for $655 CASH. I bet they will say YES.

All retailers are overpriced their products, up to 200% markup.

    • So you've tried this and got that price?

    • seems this time HN did the good job.
      say
HN HP Envy Touch 4-1121TU Sleekbook Laptop $598 plus $150 trade in!! (don't know if that is true)
JB HP Envy 4-1121TU 14" Touch Screen Ultrabook $798

  • at the end of the ultrobook says:

    Special Price

    Offer ends 6 May 2013 (74827)

Does that mean the "GIGANTIC SALE" ends today?

Prices after Trade-in are not a bargain

Otherwise you would get deals like

    "Free Brand New Hyundai Getz!*

*After trade in of BMW M3 less than 5 years old."

Oh look free car woop woop!

  • Bought an HP laptop 5 years ago. Huge ventilation problems, overheating, quickly reduced performance of the computer to the point where it was a sluggish piece of crap. Had to replace it after a year. Swore off HP.
Fast forward to a year ago. i7 HP with 4 GB RAM laptop going for a real bargain, thought to myself "Well, impossible that in 4 years they haven't fixed those issues!" and bought it.
Now, a year after I own a finger-scalding overheating piece of crap that performs way worse than girlfriend's 4-year old i3 1GB RAM lappy.
Never, never, never, never, never, never again.

  • I have just been to HN. My personal opinion I did not find the deal a real bargain. Not sure if it should find a place on Ozbargain. For an i7 HP ultrabook after discount its came down to $955. Take away the $150 for trade in. the reason I would say $150 is because you are giving your laptop which would around $150 worth even though its 5 years old in working condition. Essentially comes down to $800 for a HP which these guys keep throwing at the same price all time of the year. Need better bargain please !!!!
