    It's white.

Every dishwasher has a stainless interior..

on a sidenote there's a Bosch dishwasher (the one made in Turkey) that actually has a plastic floor inside, but the rest is stainless steel.

I'm pretty sure this is a dupe, I commented on it a couple of days ago

  • My Dad bought one of these a couple of years ago, stepmum was not over the moon as she stated it did not clean that well- maybe a change of dishwasher powder/tablet may have helped there tho.

( i make it a point not to interfere,-with their choices)

I had a Bosch Dishwasher put in at my last place- loved it but was more than 3 times this price, also wanted it to look nice as planned on selling the place-and did so- lifted the look of the slightly ageing kitchen nicely imho.

    • Hey Snappy, do you know if your Dad & Stepmums unit has given them any problems since they bought it (apart from the reports of not cleaning well)? No leaks, no electronic failures, no parts falling off etc.??

In pure frustration I blew a few grand on each of my whitegoods (top-end ASKO stuff) when all the top-end Fisher & Paykel stuff died just out of warranty and all within months of each other. Serves me right for believing in 'Australian Made':( That was 12-13 years ago and I haven't looked back, the ASKO gear just keeps on going and has performed flawlessly since the day it was delivered and survived three house moves to boot however I'm also a believer that you don't need to spend heaps to get decent quality so I'd like to know how good/bad these cheapies really are.

Any extra info is appreciated as I'm interested in helping some friends/family members replace some old klunkers they have plus I'm sure other OB'ers would like to know too. Cheers.

@SteveAndBelle Can't say it has come up in Convo about the Aldi Dishwasher,i guess must be ok ?
meet them out rather than @ their place usually so can't really help there.

I did help with the installing and took the old one to the Metal scrap place,-i seem to remember i was a fair bit noiser than my Bosch which may be a problem in an open plan house :)

        Hope that helps a little.

        • Yeah, cheers for that.

For $299 with a 3-year in-home warranty I personally think this is worth the risk but may need to be fed with the expensive Finish Quantum tabs to ensure a proper wash. Sure my ASKOs have been absolutely perfect and wash really well even with the cheaper 'environmentally friendly' tabs but the ASKOs also cost around TEN times this (ouch). GE finance does pay off sometimes ;)

        • use the aldi tabs

all the top-end Fisher & Paykel stuff died just out of warranty

Yep, it tends to do that. We don't buy the brand any more for just that reason.

        • my F&P upside down 397ltr fridge is still going strong after 18 years

still going strong after 18 years

Buy a new one these days and you'll be lucky if you get a quarter of that

        • I have to agree, out of all the F&P stuff we had the 520L upside-down fridge did in fact last the longest however it was replaced free-of-charge within the first year due to a buckled cabinet which caused the door not to seal properly and then of course the compressor had to work harder to keep everything cool. Props to F&P for doing that however it doesn't make up for the fact that the Washer, Dryer, Rangehood and especially the POS Dishwasher (DW920 from memory, urrgghh) were all just terrible.

The only reason we got rid of the fridge in the end was because we had to move into a much smaller house while we waited for a new house to be built and the fridge was too big to fit in the space provided. It was starting to make some odd compressor sounds too but it was 10 years old at that stage so yeah their fridges aren't too bad but we now have an Electrolux (mainly because it boasts such amazing efficiency at a decent price… but the glossy piano black finish is also nice).

        • my F&P upside down 397ltr fridge is still going strong after 18 years

You must be extremely lucky. My E522 has been repaired at least half a dozen times in the ~8 yrs since I got it, some under wty, most since just out though…it's a POS, the single worst purchase I've ever made!

Just search OzB for my past whinges about same, F&P…never again!!!

Bingo! F&P stuff was very well designed from a planned obsolescence perspective but I hope manufacturers read threads like this and realise that a lot of us will NEVER buy their products again based on these experiences.

One product failing prematurely I can handle… two is disappointing but also understandable but an entire house worth of their top-of-the-range goods is just beyond poor form, especially when I babied them as much as I did!

        • my F&P upside down 397ltr fridge is still going strong after 18 years

Ours died a month outside of the 5 year warranty we had ending.

Item 2: Toploading washing machine, 13 months from new needed the computer board replaced. We'd bought extended warranty, so didn't have to fork out for that, but by the time the extended warranty expired it was in its dying throes.

This was mentioned in another deal.

  • bought this 18 months ago, use 3 times a week, still going strong without any issue. However, had very bad experience with their warranty service when my striling freezer went wrong.

  • I bought one last year and I'm really pleased with it, great value for the price. Mine cleans very well (although I always make sure that I do a quick rinse of my dishes first but I have always done that so that my dishwasher doesn't get food gunk all through it) and I have always used Finish Powder. But honestly it hasn't missed a beat and I'm very happy with it.

This model is different to the one last year, this new one is more water and power efficient and it also seems a slightly different layout internally judging by the pic in the catalogue.

Just make sure that you get it installed by a plumber otherwise you void your warranty.

All in all one of my best Aldi purchases (their Stirling Clothes Dryer is another story)

    • Installed by a plumber? It's a power cable and 1, sometimes 2 hoses.

      • Yep very difficult job :)

But it could be fun trying to prove if a plumber installed if it packs it in under warranty.

er yep found him in the local rag…nup dunno his name ;)

        • +1

Just advising what was in the warranty terms and conditions, don't know how they enforce it etc but I needed other plumbing jobs done at the same time so it wasn't an issue for me and I needed to get a powerpoint installed for it as well and I have made sure that I have kept the invoices just in case I ever need it.
