Damn, the price is really dropping for this phone - it seemed that it was just last week that it was $900.

  • +3

Are these guys the sister company of DWI?

    • +2

      I think so

      • +3

        yes

  • Maybe samsung knows that a new andriod phone is going to be released with a s800 processor that trumps the s4 ?

    • Nexus brand is taking off with killing price. That is why.

  • I thought I tried and the final price with shipping to sydney is $633

check stock first. First phone i purchased off them they didnt have any stock for a few days. Only found out when i asked them why my order hadn't been shipped, no communication, very annoying company.

    • +2

Website says they have stock but better to check.

    • +1

I double this. Ordered stuff from them not too long ago when it said in stock. Chased them up 4 weeks later to find that they actually had no stock. No communication whatsoever, and would not have been told if I didn't do anything about it

  • that has to be one of the cheapest price around

  • +1

Great price, but I pulled the trigger with Uniquemobiles already. Shipped too.

Bought a Kindle from eglobal, arrived 5 days later.

    • +1

i also bought off unique, got shipped email today :D. sold iphone 5 for $650 and bought s4 for same price

      • nice! $650? That's awesome… I'm trying to sell my iPhone 5 for ~$600. It's tricky when there are brand new ones on Gumtree for the same price…

        • ye it was 32gb,also sold an otterbox defender case with it that i bought for $60 and a car charger.

  • It will be $599 soon.

    • I hope this is true

  • Who is your inside source ttkc, and what site will be the first to offer it for 599 delivered?

Eglobal currently sell it for 604 without delivery, pretty close….

    • not hard to guess. look at the price of S3 and look at the price of S4. There aren't a lot of S3 owners forking out money to get a S4 with similar appearance and not to mention the same plastic chassis. In 3 weeks or less, you'll see a $599 price tag for a S4.

  • +1

wait a few months till pre-iphone 2013 release and it will be low to mid 500s. best price range to buy unless you want to spend premium to get it 2-3 months earlier than everyone else.

If these guys in anyway are associated with DWI AVOID AT ALL COST!!!.

    • If these guys in anyway are associated with DWI AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Do you mind to share your experiences with us?

      • My experience with eGlobal is fine. No faults at all when I bought my S3 off them. Requested Aus Stock and I got it.

        • You got Aus stock that was ship from China? Hong Kong to be exact. They dont even have a branch in Australia so how on earth did you get that Aus-stock S3

        • +1

They do have aus stock, they have s3 from Europe as well, all you have to do is request for it in live chat and hope for the best.
If you look at threads on whirlpool, you'll see that many people have successfully asked for aus stock from different sites and got it.
It even has the Optus firmware on it

        • Yes you are correct to an extent, but as far as i know, those ones do not come with an Australian charger (as in the power charger), do not have 24 months Samsung warranty (but probably 12 months eGlobal warranty instead) and are not A-Tick certified, correct?

Good buy for sure as long as one is aware of these things. Pay less and take a bit of a risk. I wouldn't do it, but don't blame anyone who is happy with that.

        • Woooo to the Optus firmware

        • Yeah, the people on whirlpool said that grey import stocks don't come with standard AU plugs, but I think kogan, eglobal, etc do provide a converter to do so.

do not have 24 months Samsung warranty (but probably 12 months eGlobal warranty instead) and are not A-Tick certified, correct?

Again, yep don't come with Samsung warranty. However, WP users said that Au stock comes with 24month Samsung Aus warranty(however, this isn't verified as no-one has claimed it yet)

        • Samsung Australia will honur the warranty for 24 months on any Australian IMEI numbered device. The warranty is not global on mobile phones.

I've dealt with both companies a lot in the past, I have spent roughly $10,000 at DWI in the past 2 years without a single issue?

  • I wonder will they ship the phone unsealed?

I'd be very wary ordering from this site

  • If you're looking for a new phone I'd wait till after Google IO this week. Rumour is that a new Nexus 4 with LTE support will be announced. Even if the Nexus 4 isn't your thing the new LTE model will probably cause prices to drop.

    • If whatever they announce is not amazing, the prices will stabilise.

The prices tend to drop before i/o in anticipation of a great rise in difficulty selling them.

      • I doubt any announcement will be any more exciting than LTE and maybe a 32gb model.

    • only have to wait 2 to 4 days now.
I'm hoping for a new FHD 8" tablet and an upgraded Nexus 4 with 32 GB and LTE.

  • I heard some people said they can buy in from JB for a low $700.

  • Would price match with 5% lower work at Officeworks?

    • Doubt it, this is probably grey import stock which they don't price match.

      • -2

        says who ?

      • It probably depends. I heard of a few people matching thinkofus.com.au with the Galaxy S3, although some were rejected too.

But more importantly- are OfficeWorks selling the S4? It's not on their website

  • -2

And when will we see iPhones at this price???!

    • +5

Budget iPhone is being released this year, so you can get a gimped version of a bad phone for less then I suppose?

Why would you want an iPhone anyway?

      • +2

Sorry but I have quite a dislike for people who claim android is icredibaly superior to apple or even visa versa, everyone has their reasons for wanting a particular phone, apple I find is alot more user friendly when it comes to Older generations trying to get their head around a smart phone, and the easy to use UI of iTunes to back up and transfer is far more user friendly aswell, plus once your under the apple umbrella with purchases etc, it's hard to leave it without a massive headache of work arounds (I know they do it on purpose).

The price point would be the biggest argument, but really this post is just proof that even though you pay more, apple phones hold their value, so when you go to sell the phone, for a new one, as one poster did in this thread, you take a small loss on what could be considered a cost to use the phone for the past 9 months but also recover most of your money to put into your next phone.

There are alot of positives about android as well, price and control over almost every aspect of the phone without restriction would be my big 2, but there alot more, just like I said it depends on the user, so go a bit easier on someone who rather purchase an iPhone.

My responds to them would be look out for some on eBay a month or right on launch of the next iPhone in a few months…you should only expect to save $200 to $300 max off rrp though because they hold their value.

Only in black and white? I hate Collingwood!

  • I'm waiting for the Samsung galaxy s4 zoom. The screen on this one is too big for my liking.

    • I'm waiting for the Samsung galaxy s5. Way better than S4.

      • I'm waiting for the s9, s5 is so lame in comparison.

        • I was waiting for note 1, but then started waiting for note 2, but then started waiting for note 3… I just keep waiting not sure if ill ever buy

        • just like my PC… hence i'm still on an Q6600 quad core…

      • I'm waiting for the Galaxy Note 3. I have the GNote 1 but it's not much of an upgrade to GNote 2.

  • Awesome price, but [off-topic] where the hell is the 32GB version? Seriously, it's not for sale anywhere. I thought this phone was supposed to also come in 32GB's. I've held off buying it cause of this.
BTW, the 16GB version only has 8GB usable due to OS/included software.

    • Samsung said that the 32GB version will be released in the fourth quarter in Asia.
So its about 3-4 months away, and it will be outright only (which may suit everyone.. but not those wanting it on a plan etc)

    • phone takes up to 64GB Micro SD card :)
      32GB Generic is ok
If you wanted to use a 64GB you have to use a Samsung Branded one. (granted i only tested it with a couple of branded, i could only get the phone to recognise the Samsung 64GB)

  • I would avoid eglobal, sure the shipping is super quick but I've learnt first hand how hopeless they are with warranty..tried to organize a DOA return for a HTC one x was a nightmare, these people are scum.

Now I have been purchasing from them since 2011, in order of thousands dollars. I hope this is not a delaying tactic.

    • Probably they have signed a new merchant agreement with a bank.
So they would need to request these documents again for any orders over a certain limit.

    • Problem was solved when I did live chatting with the customer service. The staff was polite and helpful, I might add. Thanks eGlobal!

  • Thank you for all the support!

    Here is a quick update:

What did you end up doing? Did you have to email your personal details and information to them?

Feels bad doing this as they are an offshore business and we do not know them or able to chase them up. giving them paypal is one thing, but giving them accompanying documents for them is another!

    Cheers

    • Pretty much all foreign businesses need to do this, it's because you are dealing with them in credit and they can't trade stolen credit for goods that they'll never be able to recover.
