    Every USB2 devices claim to have maximum transfer rate of 480 Mbps. But 90% of them is just max out at around 12 MByte/s. Only a few can give 25 to 30 MBytes/s. Vantec Nexstar 3 USB-SATA is one of the fast ones. Just wonder what is the typical and sustain reading/writing speed of this one.

      if you really need fast transfer rates, then you need to pay a bit extra and look at the ones with eSATA.

        Not that I want to have faster transfer rate with different interface, but I want better transfer rate on USB2 as not every computer/laptop will have eSATA or Firewire. Just sick of most of the manufacturers claiming something that is not true.
