Lots of upvotes but no comments. I guess dishwasher tablets are a pretty boring topic.

On a more interesting note, this guy loves his job: http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/5389/1368510182746.jpg

    • Thanks for contributing. That's really odd that you would choose to share that here. Unfortunately it's not interesting or relevant at all.

Paid about $20 for these at woolies a couple of weeks back "on special". So a good deal here. Note that grey import ones may be cheaper but are apparently not as good.

      • Can anyone else confirm grey import Quantum tablets are inferior?

I have not seen any negative comments i.e. in the following deals:

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/74731

edit: note I'm talking about the Quantum range (not 3-in-1, All-in-1, Classic, Max, etc…)

      • The grey import products are just as good. Check the ingredients label, the same chemicals are used. The only difference is they're made for various European markets so lack English writing on the box, and they're much cheaper as you're not paying the local monopoly importer to shift boxes. We're quite frankly being ripped off blind for Finish products in Australia.

I have only ever purchased grey import Finish products and have been very happy with the results.

I use the grey-import Finish 3-way (not Quantum) with good results @ 16c each. What does the Quantum do that justifies the more than doubled price?

I hear they're pretty good for cleaning your wallet a bit.

According to http://www.finishinfo.com.au/finish-quantum.php they help fight cloudy glasses and create more of a shine

    • Where do you get them from? ( the grey-import Finish 3-way )

What the heck is 3-in-1? And where do you get them?
Are you talking about the classic tablets?

Quantum is quite good at cleaning stuff that's got really dried bits of pasta and hardened grease stains, I found by comparing them with classic (albeit now I just soak em in water after cooking and tossing them in makes a bit of difference, I don't rinse them before I put em in cause that IMO totally defeats the purpose of a dishwasher).

    • I've always used all-in-1 tablets and found the results to be great. Haven't felt the need to pay almost twice as much for Quantum ($18 for 100 all-in-1s, direct import at Cheap as Chips).

Speaking of Finish tablets, has anyone noticed the tablets have shrunk and become lighter? I bought some direct import, German made all-in-1s in late 2011. 2059g for 100 tablets. Last week I purchased another box of 100, direct import made in Germany. 1877g. 9% lighter. Sneaky inflation by reducing product size instead of raising the price.

As far as I know, and am concerned, Quantum tablets dont need the Rinse Aid added to the wash.
Any other tablets from Finish range need Rinse Aid.

    • The all-in-1 tablets claim rinse aid is built in. Quantum claims a higher grade of rinse aid is included, but my wine glasses look just fine without added rinse aid with all-in-1s.

  • These tablets have to be a bit of a con, ie 5 in 1 etc etc.

The question I ask if they have all these built in Rinse Aid , Shine Aid , Diamond Aid, how does it know when to release it as every dishwasher is different and also the time differences in cycles.

The rinse aid is suppose to be released, I'd guess in the rinse cycle, I'd guarantee obn intensity cycle the rinse aid would be completely dissolved in the first wash cycle.

    • could always just open up the dishwasher and see?

If they've designed it properly the little ball should be coated in something which slowly dissolves over x minutes.

  • yes davo, but on different cycles x is different

  • These are made in Poland

Purchased the 48pack instead did I cheap out to much to get more tablets?

I got these for my new house that will have a dishwasher !! Haven't even started the build yet :p

    • Heh, I did the same thing in late 2011 with my new house. Bought 200 Finish tablets from Harvey Norman Big Buys even before the concrete was poured :-)

  • My wife got the 20+10 pack (30 pack) for $9.97 at Coles!!!

  • In Woolworths, the quantum 20 packs for $6.99 starts tomorrow
