Click LCD Digital Door Viewer $15 Bunnings Stafford QLD

290

Yes, this is yet another post on the Click LCD digital door viewer, but now it's at a guilt-free price of $15!
Buy some now as early Christmas presents. Your friends and family will absolutely love you for it*.

I just tested it, it works pretty well. Excellent for kids or old parents who find it hard to look through a peephole that's high up.

That was at Bunnings Stafford QLD. Judging from what happened with the B&D cordless screwdriver, other bunnings outlets will probably match it.

The installation instructions are on the back of the pack:

It's a drop-in replacement so if you already have a viewer, you shouldn't need to drill anything. The display sticks to the door with double sided tape. Well technically it's held there by the door viewer tube, the double sided tape just prevents it from rotating and damaging the ribbon cable. You could probably just use blutack if you don't want to use the included double-sided tape.

*no promises there

Forgive my ignorance but does this require installation. ie can you use it if renting?

Also, is it stand alone or do you use it with other products like intercoms?

  • NOOOOOOO !!!!!!

Man i wish it was wireless which is what i thought. Dont really like to have a screen stuck on the door, would have been great to put in next to the alarm keypad and aircon control pad.

    • No, but I agree. Whoever's at the door will still know you've come to the door - "Show me your bill, I can get you a better deal if you sign with us" - @_@ I'm one step away from being a paranoid Gollum!

  • Anyone know if this can be had in Vic?

    • Still $29 in Northland. They refused to price match the QLD Bunnings store, saying it was a store-specific overstock/clearance.

    • tried at Moorabbin, showed him the image on my phone. Once he saw the clearance sticker he wasn't going to match it. Said something about they no longer price match other bunnings, after some guy bought timber on sale one time, and then price matched against his own receipt. For 2 years. Guess it caught the attention of somebody upstairs.

  • Anyone have some brief impressions on how these perform?

Works great. Easy to install, just drill a 14mm hole in your door. Works well in darkness too (picks up street light) but works best at night in combination with a sensor light.. Screen is low range of colors, but its definitely good for purpose.

Highly recommended. I got for $29 in VIC which is a bargain for something like this.

    Please buy it

If you are not renting. no security screen door or a glass front door installed. Just for christmas presents( just keep your receipt as the price might drop further to $10..hahaha)

    Please don't buy it

    Opposite above {O)

  • Does anyone know if the lens is wide angle, if you install it but have a security screen door in front will you still be able to see who's at the door thru / past the security screen door?

  • Anyone know if this in SYD?

Is this good for bathroom doors?

That depends. Do you have a good memory? If you don't, you might want one with recording capabilities.

This is available at Cockburn store in WA for the same price.

$29 at my local Bunnings, told them Stafford had them on clearance for $15, showed the receipt from here, they called to confirm and walked out with one for $15. Not sure if an interstate price match will work, no harm in asking.

  • Was refused at Tweed Heads Bunnings yesterday was told $29 said at other store it might have been faulty.

    • Try again at the service desk, ask them to call Stafford to confirm.

      • There's a lot of inconsistency with Bunnings price matching. Remember the ladder deal? Seems to be a lottery if a store will just do it or claim a stupid reason not to match.

  • Tried pricematch in Seven Hills NSW with Success!!! just showed the staffer the receipt on OzBargain.

I'm renting, but I already had a 'peephole' so it was just a quick swapover.
Note: My arrow sticker wasn't facing UP!

    • My arrow sticker wasn't facing UP!

Mine was wonky too, easy enough to fix but it'd be nice if they got it right hey.
