So what's the saving? Why is it a bargain?

  • +4

Hehe, if OzBargain was a crash test dummy car, jv would be the brick wall. Gotta get past him first! :)

    • +1

Do you see anything in the info above that suggests this is a bargain ?

      • +1

They are technically the cheapest according to Static Ice, however being an EOL (end of line) product whether it is a bargain is debatable.

        • -2

          being an EOL

Obviously the Rep wanted to hide this fact then?

        • hey JV where were you when i pointed out that cheapest on staticice doesn't always warrant a posting…
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103203

        • It being EOL doesn't impact. We get plenty of posts from Kmart, Dick Smith, ect that are EOL products that make it onto the front.

We can't vote because its EOL, we should be voting due to price and availability (the second is questionable considering what has made it onto the front page lately).

If Dick Smith and others can have EOLs on here, so can the Rep.

      • Don't get me wrong, that wasn't a personal jab I actually agree with you - it's not a crap deal but not a bargain (imo) either… just a deal for an oldish SSD.

Was just commenting on your "cut to the chase" style questioning :)

Do not buy the 3rd gen drives. OCZ Agility drives 4 or newer are far more reliable.

    • See….and ya read that - makes me wonder about mine now - 13 months and still going…….should i get worried?

Anyone know of an easy SSD duplication method if I get a different one to change over my OS?

      • Gparted

        • Kool….THX!

    • I had 2 brick themselves inside of 2 weeks, the RMA'd unit I ended up with has been running now for about 2 years so I guess it's solid. But generally speaking, the gen-3 wasn't a solid unit and I agree with your comment.

  • Very bad drive, budget range, EOL, the only good thing about these is they report a fake temp which is necessary for some servers

  • Bought one and happy with that…..

OCZ will upgrade the drive if it gets faulty anyway if it gets EOL, so i am not worry about it at all…

so once it gets faulty, i will expect a Vertex 4 or even a Vector ??? haha or at least i will get my money back….

    so why not :)
