Black price has changed to $399. White is $382. Although black is still showing $382 here:
    http://www.binglee.com.au/catalogsearch/result?q=me400c

    • yeah, once added to cart, black appears to be $399 and white $382 delivered.

      • I just tried adding the black one and it is still $382. Maybe it was some error that made it $399 previously.

  • Pretty good price! How does this compare locally?

    • $ 362.90 using OW's price match… then saved 5% more using ING Direct's Pay & Save promo (still avail for new sign-up's)

(For ING Direct, helpful OW staff did 4 partial debits: 3x $99 + 1x $65.90)

      • Was that for white?

  • +3

Ozbargain, do I really need one? Geeee struggling!

  • Officeworks only has black so if price matching with them best to use the JB HiFi black price of $392.80

Unless you can get Officeworks to price match off this page where it shows the black for $382: http://www.binglee.com.au/catalogsearch/result?q=me400c

  • COOL, thanks!

  • I got one from the last offer/deal - i love it… its like a tablet on steriods as you can do 20 times more than an ipad/android, the only thing is not as many apps, but thats where the desktop comes into play… Install anything you want.

    • Yes, but without a physical keyboard and mouse, anything on the desktop side is a pain to use. Too small buttons to press, as they are designed for mouse use and most annoyingly the virtual keyboard does not automatically pop up when you select a text input field. Or maybe I was just missing some tricks.

      • No you are correct.

From the system tray you can tell the keyboard to pop up and I do agree, clicking is hard given everything is smaller.

I am getting a stylus which will help with my inaccurate fat fingers but 90% of what i do is App Based and I only go to the desktop to do a little. Its nice knowing its there and although harder to use, it still beats having NO DESKTOP on the iPad or Android, so i see this alone as a big factor for a Windows Tablet over iPad/Android.

You can also sync a Bluetooth Keyboard/mouse to the device if you wanted to, so you still have options to get around what you need. The tablet for me isnt my primary device (thats my laptop) its just the device i sit on the couch with to do small tasks i cant be bothered powering the laptop on for.

I can add torrents to utorrent pretty easily from the desktop - so im happy.

      • Use ext'l Keyboard & Mouse, via USB & hub or pay more for ASUS optional keyboard/holder/case option.

  • before we know it this device will be $300 a piece

  • Now, I don't actually need any tablets and already have an iPad, but despite all of that, I am tempted by this bargain as well as the Asus TF300T. But seeing how quickly the prices are falling, I reckon I can wait a few months more. And I wouldn't mind a bit better resolution either.

  • I managed to price match this (ME400C-1B035W) from Officeworks for $312.90! Just picked them up. I bought two.

    • $362.90 you mean :)

      • Meaning I paid $312.90 for one. $625.80 for two.

        • +1

Aha! They price matched $328 instead of $382!

        • +1

Maybe it was a typo $312.90 instead of $362.90 as price matching $328 or $329 by mistake gives a different amount to $312.90.

In anycase, you sir are a true ozbargainer ;)

        • Thanks to you who pointed out Bing Lee's price in the other thread! :) I was on the phone before the price had even updated on their site. Was about to buy it based off of JB's price instead and it updated.

  • Bing Lee informed us that there is -NO- "Bonus MS Office 2013

ASUS offer requires purchase of VIVOTAB (is this the same qualifying product?)

    • Maybe they meant that it doesn't come with a full installation, but rather a 3 month trial?
"Office: Office 15 Trial version - 3 months"
EDIT: Yes, this is the VivoTab Smart; not the RT.
