Nexus 7 32GB $206 | 3G $254 @ The Good Guys

1730

After seeing the JB Hifi deal on asus this weekend, decided it was time to buy a tablet, went hunting a little bit and they are for some reason ridiculously cheap at the good guys. Not sure if this is just a standard price or a sale, but I think this is a bargain:

32Gb 3g $254
32GB WiFi $206

You can always buy direct on ebay (WiFi, 3G) and pay $2 postage.

scored one this morning from Subiaco officeworks for $195.70

The chick serving me thought I called earlier to query the pricematch, but I hadn't.

I KNOW IT WAS ONE OF YOU!

I remember going to one of the OW for one of the deals posted here. Unfortunately I was too late and missed the last one. As the staff was removing the display unit and removing the price tags etc. I over heard them wondering what the hell is going on? The tablet wasn't advertised, why suddenly so many people calling up and showing up for it… LOL

  • Arghh! I always miss out on deals like this. I tried to snag one during that Shipping Express deal. Didn't get through in time to get one so I ended up ordering a manufacturer refurbished N7 32GB off ebay a couple of days ago. If I had just waited two days…dammit!

  • Can some one recommend a good case for Nexus 7? Is this enough?

    • No need, the back is already tough as nails

  • 16GB is $170 if you price match at OW

    • OW doesnt sell the 16gb

      • ahh ok. $179 then :)

Couldnt hold out any longer got at OW

    • will be buying one tomorrow

  • i'm so tempted to buy this

  • At the risk of sounding really dumb…what exactly do I need to say to OW to get the price match? You seem to be getting it lower than TGG…is there a percentage discount as well?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    • Price beat 5%

Step 1: ask cashier for a nexus 7 32gb or whatever
Step 2: After they bring it to the counter say, hey man I found it cheaper from good guys its on their website can I get a price beat? They look up on their PC.

Done. Make sure to tell them after they have got the stock. And make sure good guys has stock of the item on their website. And make sure you can Google it yourself if need be. Don't take any excuses from them and ignore the ugly face they may give you.

  • What happened to Officeworks supposedly checking competitors prices twice a day to make sure they have the lowest prices in store??

  • Hi guys!

Thanks so much for your help…I got it at $195.70, which is ace!

Just one thing, though - I've unboxed it and there's no charger or Quick Start guide in there…I have an HTC, so the charger bit probably doesn't matter too much. But if I'm supposed to have it, I'll go back and get it!

    Thanks AGAIN! :-)

    • Was it sealed in the box?
Does anyone know if you can get staff discount on top of the 5% price beat?

    • Just opened mine up, inside the box there is a smaller black cardboard box under the Nexus 7.
Inside that box was the Quick Start Guide, USB Cable, Power adapter and Aust pins adapter.
If you didn't get that stuff I would go back and get it.

  • Not properly, no…took ages to get it out and that was WITHOUT being taped up!

    • You or the box?

      • LOL, I think it was half me being useless and half the box having been very well packed!

Anyway, I went back as I was nearby anyway. Turns out that it was a return that was supposed to go back this coming week (possibly because it was missing the components I was looking for, perhaps?), which somehow ended up with the ones for sale. They swapped it over and all is now well!

Also did a mystery shop whilst I was out and managed to buy a nice holder thing for it…so I'll get reimbursed for that as well. :-D

All in all - well chuffed. Thanks to you all for your assistance! Really appreciate it! :-)

Now to discover what this thing can do! :-D

  • Well bought the wifi version from office works near town hall. A shame it took them 20 minutes to confirm GG had stock.

    • Yeah officeworks tend to have really bad service. But good prices

I bet it would be so funny for the Good guys. They're like:

CEO at Good Guys: "Let's have a 20% ASUS sale. The new brand is popular at the moment, lets sell like crazy".

    • Officeworks is now out of stock.*

    • Good Guys only sell about 20 of their stock after sale. *

CEO at Good Guys: "So what happened?!?. We gave them what they wanted?"

Other suits at the boardroom: "Oz Bargain did."

Now whats a recommend nexus 7 case.. so for got the screen protector sorted. I see DX has one for $8?

  • Went to OW for price match. They don't sell the 3G 32gb in stores
    Only available online

Couldn't wait so drove to the closes GG essendon and
Lucky got the last one there.
One was on hold, probably from a fellow ozbargainer hehe

Just opened the device and it's beautiful,
    - Graphics, touch screen, everything

    It's different to the iPad
    Looks and feels smoother

In the hands kind of feels like the note but bigger

  • I was planed to get the tablet from OW today, but deal expired.
I am wondering if OW accept receipt to beat 5%.

  • OW now claiming they didn't have any stock of the 3G one and I have to wait 2 weeks. I got a refund, should have gone for the wifi.

  • Damn, I thought this was on till close of business today and was going to price-match OW tonight after work.

Anyone purchase a 32GB WiFi Nexus 7 from OW in South Aust (Elizabeth, preferably) that wouldn't mind uploading their receipt?
