Jb hifi will price match you reckon? Thanks

    I got my Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB pre-order for around $900.

    • +1

      WOW… How?

    • without trade in price?

      • +1

Traded in for $10 and purchased a $100 gift card for $20, bringing the final price down to $889.20.

        • I know where you are coming from, meaning certain people could score a s25u for nearly the same price but it's not indicative of a deal available to all.

  • Don't think it a good idea to buy this now. Wait for s25 if you can. Bigger ram and longer updates.
    Note: I'm a happy s23 user

If ultra then bargain if not then so so

Even an ultra is not a bargain at this price.

    Charging $699 for a 2 years old 128gb phone? That's pure criminal

    Absolutely nothing to see here.

    • Pretty sure they are still selling iphone 12 & 13's for this price (even that is more ridiculous).

Not saying it is "right" - but the market has shifted that the latest phones are unreachable (up to $3k for the top models) to a fair segment of the consumer market so either you have to hang onto the phones for longer, or go for an older (or mid-range) model within your price range. These are still much faster and better quality than the mid-low range phones of same price (eg. Motorola ones).

I wouldn't call this a great deal - but it is what it is considering JB is still selling these for $1129

  • Old tech or still adequate?

    • +1

      Adequate

    • Definitely adequate, and from memory the s23 series was the first of Samsung's proper support lifecycle commitments - four guaranteed android version updates and 5 years of patching so through to 2028. My S23 Ultra just got its Android 15 update…took ages for them to release but it is still supported.

With that said I don't think this price is a very good deal at all, just sharing the lifecycle support info.

  • Hardly a deal given you can get a S24+ with similar price

  • The phone is still very adequate, but 128gb might not be enough

    • yep im with zfold5 512gb and now sitting at 80% full capacity

    • +3

The phone is absolutely fine for everyday use.

What it isn't is the asking price.

This is NOT a deal period.

  • Need a new android phone - what's a better option for this money? Or how much is this phone actually worth as a decent buy?

    • +1

What do you need? I bought a Motorola Edge 30 Fusion a few years back and really like it. Edge 50 Neo might be a good option for you. It supports faster charging and has a bigger battery. Its processor is not as powerful so maybe not a good choice if you do a lot of gaming.

      • Thanks,I'll check it out

    • Really depends what you want in your phone and your budget, but there's lots of deals around on the Pixel 8 or 9 range in the $650-900 price range. If I was in the market for something midrange right now personally, I'd probably just grab a Samsung A56 or Pixel 9a depending on the budget.

      • thanks - mostly just boring stuff, obviously calls and messaging, no gaming, navigation, would like decent photos/video recording. Battery life is a high priority. I have a S21 FE, and find it getting quite slow when opening and using apps, and the battery is getting a bit tired.

        • +1

I'd just grab a pixel 8a on sale then tbh, Samsung's phones have so much bloat and extra crap you won't ever use that just drains your battery, slows down your phone and either spies on your or just blasts more ads at you.

If you're not quite ready to give up on your 21FE you could try one of the Android debloat tools to remove all the garbage on your phone, might give it another 6 months or improve your battery life!

@Dominus: Agreed - I won't be buying another Samsung. I'm thinking Motorola or Pixel for pure android. Also actually considering a used iPhone for the first time ever.

  • I’m so curious what is Enterprise Edition? 🤔

    • It's Samsung's way of marketing their phones to corporations or large businesses - as far as I know there's no actual difference, it's just that they guarantee they'll have market availability for a few years, and only promote phones with Knox support to enable MDM and automate enrolments etc.
