DIY Clock $6 @ Target

220

Was looking for a clock for the past week or so, thought this is a good deal. Was going to buy it at $10 yesterday, but when I checked Target's website this morning, it is $6, Sweeeet.

Also available in silver butterfly pattern. Target's been having quite a lot of sales lately, their website is fast becoming my favourite website for everyday things.

Analogue clocks? I don’t want a puzzle for a clock, where the prize of for solving the puzzle is knowing the time.

    • +2

It's good for me, because my 6 year old son is learning how to tell time at school. :P

      • +4

…and your son will be streets ahead of the dodos that need to be spoonfed numbers to tell the time! :)

@cypher67, telling the time ain't rocket surgery mate…

you could mess with him & set it up like a "Frank Mueller" crazy hands :)

Can you tie your own shoelaces, or does that require too much brain power?

      Analogue clocks are 'a puzzle'?
You must really struggle with everyday life.

SHUT UP KETTLE WITH YOUR SINGLE BUTTON I WANT HOT WATER NOT A SUDOKU!

    • @StewBalls, @CH, @jjcf, Alright guys, settle down. cypher67 might have a medical condition for all we know. Analogue clocks are not for everyone, apparently, I learn something new everyday. :D

Seems we don't have a whole lot of Arj Barker fans on OzB. Or we do, and they just don't like clocks

        • +1

At least someone got it … Youtube Arj Barker Digital Watch, classic

        • What passes for comedy nowadays is pretty sad. Call me old fashioned, but humour used to be…well, humourous.

        • Maybe you're just not looking deep enough.

        • …or maybe it really just ain't that funny.

No the prize is decreasing the risk for Alzheimer's.

  • Agree. I have been eyeing this too - bought one at 19.83 thought that was the lowest, then it went down! Ordered another one at $13.83, and the price went down again. My $13.83 order was cancelled, no reason given. I am ordering this at $6 again, I am hoping that it won't get cancelled.

Did you have the same problem with buying from Target online? Because of their return policy I pretty have been buying the same product a couple of times when the price has gone down and plan to return the one at a higher price. I need to get one of those credit card with shopper protection!

    • Hmm… usually online Target orders take a while to fulfill, ie. it takes a few weeks for it to get to my store, so if the price has fallen then, you can always return it immediately after you pick it up.

Also, my shopping habits are a bit different, when I need a clock, I look for a clock. When I buy a clock, I stop looking for clocks, so even if the price of clock that I bought has fallen, I wouldn't know. :)

Hopefully this will last 3 times longer than my $2 clock from ikea. :)

DIY Clock, awesome, i want it to be 6 months ago …

DIY Clock, but i dont know how to tell time …

DIY Clock, i dont have the time to install it …

        • Minute, more like hours ;)

There are plenty of kids that already can't read analogue clocks. No need to make it harder!

  • Cute. Nice mini project, but I can see this becoming a dust magnet over time. All those nooks and crannies.

    • Good point. I hadn't thought of that. I guess I will find out after I put it up. The numbers are made of foam with double-sided tape at the back, for anyone who wants to know. I am sure I can take them down and rinse them or something.

    • +3

Just put aside time every week to keep it clean.

  • Paint a couple of hands on the wall. It will show the right time twice a day. :)

Wait, when will you know when it's showing the right time. Err…

    out of stock now

You can always try in store. I have seen a few items that were out of stock online, but there was stock in my local store. It's a shame they don't show stock level like Dick Smith's website.

hey just a thought, if you put the numbers up in reverse order will time go backwards ?

    • +1

I wish it did so I could go back and get all the deals I missed out on lol

    • -1

Only if you look at it via a mirror.

      • If you look at it in a mirror with the numbers backwards then it will go the right way.

  • +1

  • So tempted to pick one up and set it up 180 degrees to normal (12 o'clock at the bottom, and follow the numbers normally all facing the right way up)

  • Just picked one up from glen, still couple left

  • Was just at Hornsby target and can confirm there was at least 2 left. Didn't get one but just happened to see it on my way through.

  • Still a few in stock at Capalaba Park (Qld) as well as the butterfly ones

  • I got the 2nd last one at Miranda. Well, the 2nd last numbers one. There were stacks of the butterfly ones. Sorry to whoever was obviously trying to hide the numbers ones at the back.

  • I was at Toombul, Brisbane this afternoon, and they had about 7 still in stock.
They also had heaps of bins (8 litre and smaller) for $2.

  • this shouldnt be expired, still available in store, went into Target Armadale and more than 20+ still available, however the numbers are obviously cheap and i opted for another clock that was on sale from $39 > $7 when scanned with no numbers, black face and silver hands.

Btw 40% off all clocks, canvas and mirrors! Some good deals on cheap canvas art too if your interested
