  • $399 is where it will be in a month IMO.

Ah well. Ultimately whenever something is about to be released, the price of the old will drop :p

Inevitably HTC One and S4 will hit under $500 soon. So if you're not in a hurry, they're probably more worth the money.

    • Not Australian stock, even grey import Sony Xperia Z isn't under 500 yet, why do you think two newer better phones will drop under 500 soon?

    • +1

Yeah, but by that time the next set of smartphones will be out. So you're effectively in the same boat again. Will you buy the S4/One, or will you wait again?

That's totally dependent on opinion not fact.

920 camera has much better than the HTC One. (It's also a little better than the S4 in certain situations)
HTC One has better speakers which are on the front too.
HTC One has a bigger screen by .2 inches.
920 has a smaller battery but in turn uses less power so I'm not sure how they measure up.
While the One has 1GB more ram, WP8 OS doesn't require large amounts of RAM to run smoothly (it runs extremely smooth on lower end phones).
Android has a larger selection of apps than WP8.

If you're thinking of getting a new phone you should try it and the OS out in a store first anyway to see if you like it and which you like better.

Also as the other guy said, the the new lines of phones from each brand should come out in less than 6 months anyway, so you might want to wait. Next Lumia series should be in November/September judging from the last release, same goes with the Galaxy series and whatever series HTC will use next.

      • As the owner of a Lumia for 6 months I find it hard to recommend. Its great for what it is, but it is locked in to not only windows for uploading your media etc, but files that you download are totally locked away.

on top of that the app store is still thin on the ice, and apps that are there are clearly immature. The os is fluid and IE is pretty good, but so is android and chrome. Finally it costs more.

  • I still think the HTC 8X $269 deal was just so much better (even the $299 one was very good, which I got)

  • let me just say that this is one of the greatest phones on the market

  • Nokia has just released the 925 so prices should drop lower. The specs and looks of 925 look great.

  • Commented last time as well.. But I've had three Nokia replacements for pretty much three different issues. Not saying everyone will have problems.. But the 920 has its fair share of problems

    Here is a simple tip…

Buy S4 when S5 is released or HTC One when HTC Two is released. The prices will be much more affordable.

I did the same I.e. got myself a S3 after the release of S4.

    • Or just buy a S4 or One when it's still new, sell it when the next gen comes out.

It's possible that this is the best actual phone as in use for phone calls etc.
