TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 ($78 + Shipping @ MSY) Buy 1 Get 1 USB Adapter Free (TL-WDN3200)

70

Was trying to check the router firmware update for my WDR3600, and found that TP-LINK is GOING to do a promo.

Buy a TP-LINK WDR3600, get one WDN3200 N600 dual band dongle for free (RRP $49)
At MSY (if it's authorised retailer?) WDR3600 is selling for $78, so for this price you can get
a router + matching dual band dongle. (Or you can try to find a cheaper deal from other retailer :P )

I think it's not bad, given that I spent $8x for router only a while ago.

I know this may not be as tempting as the $29 WD N750 router at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/104901,
but for TP-LINK, I think it's still a good deal.

    • Benefit?

  • Is it just me or is MSY not listed as one of its stores?

    • As I can see they have a term like:
"You cannot redeem product(s) purchased from E-Bay or Grey Import. Your S/N will be validated against our records."
Which I believe the TP-Link from MSY should be qualify?

  • I changed the firmware on my netgear to gargoyle so I could see detailed data transfer on each connected device. Not hard, but also the gui can become less intuitive.
I would run stock until you hit problems or features you want then see what firmware has them and is stable.

    • I found Gargoyle very good for creating bridges (with a TP-Link TP-WR1043ND). I asked dd-wrt to bridge and it wouldn't do it, even after I slapped it around a bit. Bridging was not even an option in stock :(
