Hey guys, this one looks like a bargain set of over-ear cans - might be a good alternative to the creaking Sony DJ ones from SmithyDick. Supposed to have clear mids and controlled bass (good for female vocals) and comes with a coiled cable. Apparently you need to burn them in first and it also benefits from amplification.

Price is $39.99 (lowest price ever on CCC) + $12.97 for delivery but you need to select Amazon as the seller on the right hand side, otherwise you pay full price. Also a bonus $2 Amazon MP3 Credit if you have an account.

Once again, please use my affiliate link if you find this deal useful. Thanks!

I paid about $80 for these headphones nearly a year ago. They aren't particularly amazing in any single way but they are not bad in any way at all. Summary:

    Goods
    - They are fairly balanced, with slightly weak bass.
    - They are comfy and don't squeeze your head too much.
    - They don't leak much.
    - Light weight
    - Relatively stylish (mostly metal)
    - Coiled cable.
    - Mono/stereo switch is useful for when you find a youtube video with only left or right channel.
    - Don't really need amplification. A lot of articles will say that they sound a lot better with an amp, but so do most headphones. If you use an equalizer favour the bass a bit and they are more than fine.

    Not so goods
    - They don't isolate well for close headphones.
    - Open headphones around the same price will sound better.
    - The pads aren't great.

If you want a cheap set of cans to use in an office environment, are somewhat portable, somewhat sturdy, block some noise and don't annoy the people around you; look no further. If you want a set for home use look into an open set.

    • Great, thanks for the feedback!

  • I bought these headphones from Amazon in January for $55. Not a bad headphone. I use it with my Creative X-Fi Titanium HD sound card.

Seems that amazon.com has sold out of stock. There's a 2 to 4 week wait for delivery.

Also speaking of that Sony DJ headphone from Dick Smith that the OP is talking about. They're on clearance currently for $49.50 at half price which ends today. Seems a fair few stores still have that headphone in stock.
