Think this was the same as the $199 sold at DSE.

No it's not… the one at $199 DSE is a 4.5 inch version called xpop.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/EM5193/

Also, this Mpop one runs a single core low end 1ghz MTK processor. For $49 more it is very much worth getting the Xpop — which has a larger screen, 540 x 960 resolution and runs a dual core MTK6577.

Otherwise, spend $50 less and get the Huawei G300+. It has a similar 1ghz processor with very similar specs, including battery size, screen resolution and internal memory.

The MTK6577 series is not a very powerful SOC, so don't expect the phone to play higher end games. Dead Trigger is playable but lags a fair bit.

    • Good suggestion if the Huawei G300 was still available at that price. Somebody needs to mention that this handset is for the Telstra network too, even though the OP lifted the info above from GSMArena which suggests it may work on either.

    • There's also the dual-core 4" Huawei Y300 with JB for $129: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/EM5202/telstra-huawei-ascend… . Not sure if DSE is accurate or not but lists it with dual-sim too. Better value than this deal.
