      I read the rules
-The original deal is a long list of items and the item is not contained in the title or first line of the original deal.
      It wasn't even mentioned.

  • tempting…

  • I'm tempted by the 480…

I was too, but seems it may be slightly slower, with a higher failure rate:

      240GB (SDSSDX-240G-G25)
      550 MB/s read, 520 MB/s write, 33K random read IOPS, 83K random write IOPS
      MTBF – 2 million hours
Power: 0.5W Active, 1.9W Max Operating, .5W Idle, .3W Slumber
      Weight – 78g

      VS

      480GB (SDSSDX-480G-G25)
      540 MB/s read, 460 MB/s write, 44K random read IOPS, 46K random write IOPS
      MTBF – 1.4 million hours
Power: 0.6W Active, 2.2W Max Operating, .6W Idle, .5W Slumber
      Weight – 83g

Another option: buy 2 240s and run them in RAID0?

Probably only a problem if you plan on using it for more than 159 years continuously (1,400,000 Hours Mean Time Before Failure)

        • +1

I usually only buy electronics with at least 228 years MTBF, so 240GB suits me better :P

$157.98 USD ($163~ AUD) if you don't use the amazon currency converter.

    • my bank charged me 4.92 as a foreign import fee. so it totalled to 168$

I have two of these. One in the main PC and the other in the MacBook Pro.
Good reputation for being very reliable, which stands true in my experience (one is 6 months old, the other is about 2 or 3), firmware is quite mature at this stage. No worries here!

Thanks just purchased one. Hope it performs well. Was tossing up between the Samsung 840 Pro but the cost was simply too much for me right now.

    NOTE WELL:

these may require a firmware update immediately to make TRIM support work. Or you are severely degrading the lifetime. Especially if shipping with the r201 firmware. This can be done with a sandisk USB boot tool.

Hard disk power saving features in windows may need to be adjusted, or this drive will lock at 100% io for ~30seconds, making everything non responsive.

(My housemates loading time for games was slower with this drive than her primary)
(I installed windows on the exact same model on the weekend and encountered both the above issues)

  • I got the 240 GB SSD + 64 GB micro SD for $216.46 delivered. Wife's laptop will finally get an SSD drive.

  • how come im getting 179.99??

  • +1

I'm getting " We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order.
" when trying to ship to Sydney.

  • Yep, looks like this size no longer ships to Australia. 120GB and 480GB seem to still go through though.

    • This is because the 240GB is shipped via TigerDirect

The 120GB and 480 are shipped by Amazon themselves.

  • It's a shame as SSD prices have risen slightly since Q4 2012. Or at least there aren't as many discounts on them.
Paid less for my 120GB on shoppingexpress Oct last year.

    Now only $149.99 shipped…

    • $149.99 plus shipping? I think this is what the OP posted anyway, only with dodgy amazon currency conversion. I too got one for $158USD (~$164AUD) when it was posted. Shipped by Amazon.

  • Sold by Amazon not Tiger so just placed order.
    Thanks Tyson64 for the update!

  • Just got it for USD 157.98 shipped to Sydney. Shipping was $7.99 for AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping (averages 8-16 business days).

  • The pricing is all over the place. I just refreshed and it went from 171.xx to 182.xx. Dont' want to buy when I can see other users getting it for even less shipped.

    • Prices change based on supply and demand. So when fresh supplies are available price is low. As purchases are made depending how many are made the price goes up at set levels of stock remaining. It might actually drop again once their new stock starts depleting to the last 10% of units remaining. There are other factors at play as well but the model above is pretty common even across other sectors too.

  • Does Amazon have a local warehouse? Just received my SSD today, so just over a week from payment to delivery.
