Was $699, only concern I have is the VIA processor, which I think may not be as good as the Atom in most netbooks. Still you get some free software too.

  • Can't find reference to this laptop anywhere on the manufacturer's website:

    http://www.pioneercomputers.com.au/products/products.asp?c1=…

The only one that comes close is DreamBook Lite IL3 with the 10" screen and that is definitely an Intel Atom not VIA C7 - The original DreamBook (VIA) comes in a 7" and 8.9" so not too sure what BigW is selling (assuming its not a typo).

  • haha wow ok so now im a bit red in the face - not sure how i missed that…

  • Every time I see these deals it just makes me think I should have bought the EEE PC 1000H for $499 when I had a chance..

  • cyssero, I agree, the Eee PC 1000H 160Gb a couple of months ago was a bargain at $599 or less and the 80Gb at $499 is close to unbeatable, for now.

If the Dell 12" netbook is $749, the 10" makers need to keep their offerings attractive or risk losing some sales.
Some of the 10" buyers could go for the 12" alternative.

    What do you think?

  • If it comes with VIA processor, you might as well get the HP Mini-note 2133 which is a much better package overall.

  • I think that going VIA C7 over atom is a big mistake:

And considering MSI wind is at around the same price with atom and everything else pretty much the same, this is not a good deal.
