Sizzler - Two Legendary Salad Bars for the Price of One (Tuesdays Only - All Restaurants)

590

Sizzler - Buy One Salad Bar, Get One Free (Tuesdays only)

Available at all restaurants (previously it was only Perth - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101304)

Found this deal from their Facebook page however you don't need to go through their FB app - I have uploaded the generic coupon.

Deal expires 23th July 2013.
Salad Bar price starts from $16.50/pp (lunch) and ~$25.00/pp (dinner)

IMO - the quality of food varies from store to store, but its much 'cleaner' these days after they had the 'rat poison' saga few years back.

I wish we still had sizzler in Adelaide :(

wish they still had them in Melbourne.

    • Contacted them few years ago and they said they don't have plan to open in Melbourne :(

Also Sushi Tei, great sushi resto who have franchises everywhere, but not opening in Oz.

Melbourne is famous for its gourmet food and lots of foodies, but I am still curious why in Melbourne we don't have decent AYCE (All-you-can-eat) restaurant! the numbers are also very limited!!!

      • +1

I also wrote to them a few years back. I used to Looooove sizzler as a kid. That and pizza hut AYCE. Actually AYCA stuff seems like such a 90s trend now!

It's cultural warfare. foodies are to AYCE like yuppies are to bogans

      • mponderosa, I'm guessing you are Indonesian.
        Sizzler, sushi tei… :)

  • Only 3 restaurants in NSW!

    Crap!

  • Legendary?

    • +1

      Thats what they claim…

    • Legend has it Sizzler once was good
      And reasonably priced.

Their salad bar is great. Lots of varieties.

IMO until know I never see a restaurant in Oz that can serve better salad bar with great varieties like that.

However my last experience was in Perth, 1997. Don't know if Sizzler is still great these days.

Cheers OP, will probably use one today. For offers like this I often print out extra vouchers and give them to people in line, seems to make their day.

    • -8

      Lonely much?

  • Awesome… thanks! :)

  • +8

HERE is 10 vouchers on one page. It aint purdy but it'll do, quickly threw it together so those that want to can share with fellow patrons.

    Mmmmm, cheese bread! ggaaaarrgggh….

also, don't order drinks. They give you a cup for water anyway and you can help yourself to all you can drink soft drink. Save an extra $3.95 or whatever.

    • not supposed to. if you get a power-hungry waiter/waitress then you're in trouble.

    • +4

Come to think of it, just take 30 people with you.. they have plates there so they can eat free!!!

Seriously, the last drink comment would be better filed under another term rather than free - theft

  • I recall sizzler was really good back in the 90s. Now not even a single one is near metro

Used to work in Sizzler as a kitchen hand where I will stay back and wash up the restaurant after every shift.

In the salad preparation room, hosing the back and under the fridges will always yield small baby cockroaches. Every. Damn. Time.

Would not eat at that place ever. At least at the one branch in WA.

    • +1

      name and shame.

      • No wonder they went out of business (I mean close to)

    • Which Sizzler store? I hope it isn't the Riverton one :(

      • :(

        • omg…….. :(

        • I left a few years ago, so they might have up their shit.

        • Haha I hope so! I have had heaps of friends work there, as recent as early this year. I may ask him what's up in the kitchen :P

Isn't the World Health Organization encouraging people to eat more insects?

    • LOL, I used to work at one here in Melbourne first as a kitchen hand (dish pig) then as a waiter. We never really had any pest problems, but boy were there some funky smells and odd growths from some corners of the back end. I wanted to go to one when we were in QLD a few weeks ago for nostalgic purposes, but then I remembered what it was like working there. :-O

  • Oddly enough there's a sizzler in my regional town, never ate there, only ever ate at the US version which are cheap and terrible imo. Sizzler seems very expensive here for what it is, hence probably why hardly any stores operating anymore.

Edit: this seems like a really good deal for the price.

I think Masterchef & the abundance of other cooking shows has also had a huge effect regarding this. Many ppl are learning to cook at home & may view restaurants as only for special occasions etc. or it just may be the convenience of fast food…

  • +1

I used this the last time they had the deal for WA only. Epic deal, friend and I ate for $17. Excellent deal this one, considering our alternative would be to buy kebabs for $11. Sizzler > Kebabs or other fast food in general, especially at this price!

    Edit: $11 each

  • The last time I've been a sizzler was almost 20 years ago before they closed most of their restaurants in NSW. Tempted to go back just to reminiscent the good old days.

    • I always thought of them as a affordable fancy pantsish consumer eatery. Used to eat frequently at the Penrith one right outside Panthers then we would go in & play at KAOS a few hours & indulge on the free tea n' coffee & coke from the dispensers! :P

  • +3

Yeah I missed the local all you can eat pizza hut restaurant, they tore it down and put up officeworks. lol

    • My former local all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut is now a car dealership.

    • Lake haven pizza hut is aall you can eat. But pizza inn at gosford train station is much better. Premium pizzas all you can eat on monday nights for under $10. What I miss is northern rd penrith kfc used to be all you can eat

    • and a day care center

  • Anyone know if we can order the grill item with this BOGOF promo? i.e. we top up the price difference between the grills and the salad bar?

    • +1

You can add on anything you want, they're not going to refuse a sale.

  • Has anyone been to one of their remaining Sydney restaurants lately? Are they any good? Or is it like all the other old favourites who went downhill and never really recovered.

I do want to go and try them out but it's far away so only worth going if they're still good :)

  • Sizzlers have 2 prices for the sald bar, lunch time $16.50 and dinner time $25.00

@$25 tonight for my extended family of 6 which i have to myself for is it worth it ??

Good deal in any case, sizzler is a bit overated

  • -4

The reason that sizzler is going out of business since in 2006 all the restaurants had rat poison in there good, many people because ill from it.

    • +1

      Never go full retard.

      • +1

That reminds me to watch Tropic Thunder again.

  • So… full….

  • I had this for lunch today, I prefer the local rsl or pub for a cheap feed, but can't really complain at $8.25 + $3.50 for unlimited drinks. :) I wouldn't go there at full price though. There's also some lunch time promotion going where you can get a small meal plus one trip to salad bar for $13.95 or something like that.
