Leadtek GTX 670 $299 Centrecom

520

Great price as the gtx 670 averages around $400. I bought one from Centrecom Sunshine and The guy was surprised it was selling for that low. Also mentioned there was heaps in stock.

DUnno what shipping would be though.

I just went there earlier this morning and i got the 7950 instead, this is a great deal for SLI though!

They also have the Gigabyte WF2 version for $329, a pretty good deal too. They must be being cleared out to make room for the gtx 700 series… I hope some more deals like this come :)

Pretty good. Asus one here for $289 tho

But I would be getting the 770 from here:

    • Did you read the description for the top one. They want double that price!

    • Does the ASUS gtx 670 the overclock edition? HOw'd you find the $289 price?

      • Read the comment above yours, it is $578

        • top different from overclock, top is already discontinued.

  • I don't know if this applies to all centrecom's but the Sunshine store adds a 2% CC on VISA/MC and 4% surcharge on AMEX.

  • Note that some gtx 670 brands like gainward and palit are using the nvidia reference pcb which is shorter than the gtx 680, for better cooling its good to have the one with 680 pcb and 2 fans.

Not sure about leadtek, can't find any reference images.

I bought the 7950 yesterday, this is probably a better deal. Slightly more money for the 670, but a slightly better card too. But a lot better in a couple of games I like, Skyrim and Shogun Total War.

Just adding in the Asus DirectCU II version of either Nvidia or AMD graphics cards get some of the best reviews, their usually quieter and run cooler than their competitors.

        • To make myself feel better, I'm telling myself mine came with 3 games and overclocks well… helps a little with the bitter sting.

I'm starting to think that quieter cards are worth the extra cash, though the 7950 I bought is quieter than the 6950 I was using, even when overclocked. Which is a nice plus. The other fans in the case are louder than the GPU now, probably should swap them out for better quality/quieter ones.

never settle bundle is amazing value, too bad I already got most of the games in the bundle. I wonder if switching to nVidia is worth it for their physx?

        • Below is a list of the games that support hardware accelerated PhysX, I personally think that in a lot of games the extra PhysX effects are detrimental to the gaming experience, though in Arkham Asylum it looked good. In a game like Borderlands 2 and a few other you can enable the PhysX visuals by just modifying a config file, the load is then placed on the CPU which mine could handle without issue.

  • i have a gigabyte GTX670 that i've had for ages and it's a great card, it's the O/C version but either way, the Leadtek is definitely worth this price - i paid around $420 for my GB version months back.

Here's the picture of the card in real life:

    • Do you know if these are based on a reference PCB? The reason that I want to know is that I am tempted to get 2 of these to add to my current 2 X 670 SLI, but I will be water cooling them so I need to know if there is a block that will fit them.

the leadtek is based on the nvidia ref pcb, notice the length of the pcb is shorter than the fan enclosure. but most of other brands are based on gtx 680 ref pcb which run through the same length as the fan enclosure.

see below for 7 brands of 670:

  • Excellent price. Umart are about $30-40 more at the moment… this might make them drop their price further before I purchase my new PC from them. Was going to go with the 660Ti but if the price is right…

Got email from umart. They won't price match it.

  • Is this card a good upgrade from my 6870? Too hold me for a while? Or should I wait for next gen?

    • it's a good upgrade as 6870 is 40nm based while 670 is 28nm keppler based, its one gen up. But if you got more budget 770 is 670 on hyper-steroid, around $460-500 atm.

      • Hmmm alright thanks for the advice, I might lay low and see how the prices react when AMD releases theirs.

        • I read AMD are releasing end of year to early 2014, when I read that I decided not too wait. I want top notch graphics now!

  • My advice and the advise of many others I know of.
    BUY IT INSTORE,
centrecom has bad rep of overselling stock and it's the online buyers that cop the no stock massive delay/refund email. :((

    Good luck nice price :)

    • I wonder if any Sydney based store will follow suit the < $300 price mark for gtx 670. MSY still selling around $400.
