Great deal, I already bought and then cancelled a red one yesterday as the wife changed her mind (I have an XL and kids have regular models)

There's also the possibility of another free game if you play your cards right guys. I've just downloaded a copy this morning.

    http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Misc-/Campaigns/Monster-Hunter-Gif…

    • apparently my product code is expired even though i just bought monster hunter? :(

      • Game and account must be UK, won't work with Aus versions. Perhaps your game is from another EU region? Use the appropriate store if so.

        • What about games? Can 3DS game purchased in AU be registered in UK account?

        • Not very often, some games use the same codes but most do not.

        • Thank you.
I have AU Nintendo ID. It looks like I could not change the region for Nintendo ID.
How do you register UK Nintendo ID?

  • Nice! Have been looking at 3DSXLs all morning trying to find the cheapest option.

Initially came up with one from BestBuy US @ $175 + ~$25 shipping from PriceUSA. US games seem to be about $10-15 cheaper on than UK games.

Then again you could get 2 games with this so HMM..

    • +1

There's also the So Many Games promo as well

      http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Misc-/Nintendo-3DS-So-Many-Games-P…

      • Well, just ordered this deal. Came out to $188. Now to set up a tent near the mailbox..

        • +1

Then you gonna stay in that tent for at least couple of days, I guess? :-)

        • A while actually!

Cancelled my first order to re-order with a screen protector and it went from "in stock" to "Usually ships within 1-4 weeks". Oops. Oh well, still a bargain. :)

        • Just letting you know, it took my 3ds almost 3 weeks after purchase from amazon uk.

    • How do you get 2 games with the amazon deal? I only count 1 (Super Mario)

Also, I assume you were going to get the US version to access the US nintendo shop which is cheaper or did you mean the physical USA region copies are cheaper? If physical, wouldn't that have high postage anyway to negate the savings?

  • Sigh bought a vita other day. I want this too.. What do I do!

    • Just buy it first because of its cheap, you surely can find a way to use it, a generous gift for some beloved?

      • Haha thanks for the push… I think. My finger was hovering over the confirm button for a few seconds.

What's with the 3rd-17th July expected delivery?

    • Do it trump, I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and its great for the first party Nintendo stuff and Monster Hunter. This is dirt cheap.

      • -1

        .

      • The deed has been done breakeroo. So how do I claim these free games? Or will it be too late by the time it arrives?? ( expected date 3-17/7)

        • +2

There is still time, promo ends June 30th.

So Many Games Promo - Basically buy 3 games from list, register them all on UK Club Nintendo Site and they will give you a redeem code for a free digital game from the same list.

Monster Hunter Promo - Buy Monster Hunter and redeem code on an account (Lets call it account A) then register your new UK 3DS to a different UK account (Account B) and then send yourself a recommendation code from the Monster Hunter account (A) to the 3DS registered account (B) and you get a download code for a digital copy of MH3U.

I bought 3 games from ozgameshop (Monster Hunter, Donkey Kong and Fire Emblem) for $123 and got two downloaded games free (MH3U and Animal Crossing [comes out 15/6]) So all up I got 5 brand new titles that would cost $300 here for less than half that.

        • Don't you end up with 2 copies of Monster Hunter then?

        • cheaper way is to get hold of a Monster hunter club nintendo code (which go for about 15 bucks atm cause of the so many games promo) then do what the guy above said…or you could just sell the physical copy

        • Yes. I wanted a second copy for multiplayer.

        • That would be correct. Beakeroo mentioned in same post that there are multiple 3DS consoles the household ("kids" = at least 3). So, won't be a wasted download.
Could sell physical copy anyway = profit.

        • Where are these $15 Monster Hunter codes you speak of bgbrendan?
          Thanks :)

You could probably Bid this guy roughly $40 for three and it would be a very cheap way of buying digital games, just keep making accounts and getting the redeem codes.

        • Hmm, I'm tempted to give it a go. It'll work with an existing Aussie 3DS (I know I can change the region to use the download code)?

          Thanks again!

        • Yep, mine is an Aussie 3DS XL. I just changed the region in Settings>Other Settings>Profile/Region

  • +2

Nooooo i just bought on on friday from the same store!!!

    • So did I. So do we miss out? Or was the only way to buy them at the same time?

      • +2

        Contact Amazon customer service ASAP.

        • +1

Cheers. Sent 'em an email and they said they they would refund the game if I bought it.

        • Yep can confirm, talked to Amazon and they said if I buy the game in a separate order they'll refund the cost after it's dispatched. Gotta love Amazon's customer service.

  • +3

Remember you will still need a charger as these don't come with any

    • Ahh good point! Any suggestions on where to pick up a compatible charger locally?

      • I haven't been able to find an official Nintendo branded charger locally. Seems they're included with the systems here. You can get third party ones from JB/DSE/wherever though.

I got this one off eBay. Not local and a plug adapter will be required but it is official! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290846…

        • $20 delivered direct from Nintendo

      • Ebay yourself a 3ds -> usb cable and plug it into any usb power supply. And its ridiculously cheap too (got mine for $3).

  • +1

Do you know the region of the 3DS? AFAIK the 3DS has region locking, which is a PITA…

    • +7

It's PAL so it's compatible with all EU and AU games.

    • Region locking exists for japanese 3ds (ntsc jp), na (ntsc na) and eu (pal). We fall under eu so all is good.

  • Thanks I bought one. With 28 degrees card it turned out to be $180 AUD.

  • Do you have to buy a wall charger? I mean can you charge the 3DS XL with a USB cable (like how you charge an iPhone)?

    • Yes but not officially. You can get a third party cable on ebay which has the 3dsxl plug on one end and usb on the other. They cost around $3 shipped.

    • Sure can, have a look at eb's website for cheap 3ds charger kits

  • Got sucked in and bought it. Let's hope nothing better comes up anytime soon! :)

  • Just ordered the Silver Model.

Anyone else get order confirmation and have it say the game is in stock and will be sent but no shipping date confirmed for the 3DS itself?

Actually.. just checked again and the order has disappeared from Amazon My Orders Section.

  • Can you have both a UK and AUS Club Nintendo account linked to one console? I'm thinking I only want 2 games, Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter, so I was thinking of buying locally to get Animal Crossing for free (http://www.nintendo.com.au/great-games-promo/) and then using the Monster Hunter Promo mentioned above on the UK site to get a copy for a friend as well?

    • +2

No, but you don't need the accounts to both be linked. You can link one and then another and keep switching.
Nintendo give you a download code to use when you enter these promos. You can then use that code on any 3DS that is using the store of that given region (If you get a free game code from AU Nintendo you use the AU eShop to download that game, if you get a free game from the UK eShop you can then change the eShop region on your 3DS to the UK and redeem that code)
Also once a game is downloaded to your system it is locked to that system, not an account.

      • Awesome, thanks beakeroo! You know your 3DS facts!

    • You won't save much money by buying a 3ds here over this 3ds-xl.

      • Yep, agreed. I'd buy a UK XL.

        • I'm not a true OzBargainer, I'd rather spend the extra $10 (after staff discount, yay) on getting a local 3DS XL with a game I actually want (Animal Crossing, yeah!). For some reason at Target the XL is cheaper than the original too. Good on 'em.

        • +2

The problem with this is that the 3DS XL is excluded from the Aus promo.

          T&C:

          1. For the purposes of this promotion an eligible Nintendo 3DS system does not include:
            A Nintendo 3DS XL system
        • Welllll whose stupid idea was that. Thanks for pointing it out for me ;-_-
          *Goes to Amazon*

        • +4

A distributor that can't shift depreciated stock. :D

  • +1

FYI, you can still buy the blue and red colours at 99GBP if you select amazon as the seller

  • Seems you get a copy of Mario with any 3ds xl purchase. Was tempted to get the special ed animal crossing one before. Don't know if this will be enough to push me over the line though since platformers aren't for me.

Also interested in Fire emblem and Monster hunter. With all the promotions (register monster hunter, gift one to a friend free, buy any 3 of 8 listed titles get one free http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Misc-/Nintendo-3DS-So-Many-Games-P… , this amazon UK deal) anyone come up with a convoluted way to get a whole bunch of offers overlapping? :p

The one I came up with requires a bunch of trading which I don't want to deal with but, buy animal crossing 3ds, get animal crossing and Mario, trade Mario for monster hunter, register, get friend monster hunter code, trade that for fire emblem. registered animal crossing monster hunter and fire emblem gets a 4th game :p. Probably even better if you just buy the fire emblem 3ds instead.

Also you may as well order a charger while you're at it if you're ok with a UK plug. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Power-Adapter-3DS/dp/B008DS…

  • I have a 3ds AC charger. Can I use it for 3ds xl?

    • Yes, nintendo has changed their charger since DSi i believe.

      • I just realised my typo in that

        Nintendo hasn't *

  • cant get the shopping cart to update the mario game as free?!?!

anyone know how to do it?

  • Has the price gone up to 164.99 euro which equates to $231 Aussie or am I trippin?

    • +1

Try another colour. Last I saw of was only silver left at this price.

    • +1

If you go to checkout, the Mario game should be discounted.

  • The cheapest xl in the list is 160.90 euro so I assume the cheaper stock is sold out?

  • In the list of sellers, does 'New' by Amazon mean that it's Brand New? Because I saw that some of the other sellers that are listed as more expensive say that they're Brand New but Amazon doesn't specify.

The default seller for Red/Black (Cargobox) off the link provided wasn't allowing me to get it shipped to Australia. Choosing the Amazon option makes it add up to $189.24 total after the discount on Mario Bros.

Just wanted to check if this is kind of what everyone's been doing (or…?) to get the right price. Thanks!

  • ok I bit the bullet, got a blue/black and Mario Bros 2 for £110.64

    • Alright, that seems to be the same price I'm looking at for Red/Black. Did you use Amazon as the seller for the 3DS?

      • +1

Yep. Yes "New" is brand new.

        • Thanks!

Bit the bullet and ordered one, first time buying something thanks to Ozbargain. :)

  • +3

WOWWWW. I asked Amazon to combine my existing 3D Blu-Ray and 3DS XL order and the girl gave me a super massive discount when I asked her to apply the Mario discount on the combined order 0_o I think she must have done it wrong and given me a bigger discount than I was meant to get.

    My 3D Blu-ray order was £59
    3DS XL order was £110.64

After she combined it and applied discounts to everything (??) the total combined order was £117 or $192 AUD!
The 3DS XL on the order is listed as £71. Score!

    • what blurays were they?

      • +1

bunch of 3D blu-rays that are going to be released soon

  • +2

Make sure you check out your local target. Managed to get kid icarus, street fighter and star Fox for $14 each at the target stores near me. Had resident evil too but wasn't interested in that

  • was wondering for those who ordered not in stock, did they charge you for the game since it was going to be sent out first?

    • i meant, did anyone get their Super Mario 2 shipped out first? If so, was there a charge on your account for this?

      • doesn't that depend on the option you choose near the end? if it got shipped for you then it most likely did charge.

mine seems to be waiting til june 24th til dispatch :/

        • I chose group items together but they split my order shipping the game first。order total was still £110.64 though but dunno why they charged for the game first since it was free. They said it was a pre authorisation, but for the full amount of the game?

        • I guess it may your first purchase on amazon then. Is it?

        • Nope. Thanks anyways

        • I got the same thing actually. Not sure why that is. Have you found out anything about it?

        • +1

You will find that they couldn't ship it out without taking a payment so they will reduce the cost of the 3DS XL to around 70 pounds when they send it out.

        • Ah that makes sense. The guy i spoke to via instant chat kept on saying it wasnt a charge only a pre authorisation to see if i had funds and wont be charged. I even emailed them to double check but the same guy replied to my email too haha.

          thanks for the info.

  • So with this "so many games" promo - you buy 3 games and you get a code for a fourth one free? I think the promo expires this month. I'm guessing we can't do it if 3DS XL is meant to arrive in mid july right? Do you need to have a 3DS XL for this promo at the time or can you register the games online?

Also cutting it too close… i'd hate to have 2 games then a shop takes too long to deliver the third game. I'm guessing we have to buy UK version games also? Or is it any version games including AU?

    • +1

All must be UK games, you don't need a 3DS to register them. Simply register online at http://club.nintendo.co.uk The promo ends on June 30th but you have 1 or 2 months to claim your free game (you'll have to check that yourself)

      • oh cool. is wowhd.com.au australian or UK based 3D games? Also would it be too late to buy UK games to get here on time?
Also it's asking for a product code? What should I put for a UK 3DS XL?
        http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/club_nintendo/join_the_c…

        • You need to wait for the 3DS to arrive, inside there is a red slip of paper that says Club Nintendo, use the code from that.

Wow sell UK games but don't rely on their delivery service to arrive in time. Go with Ozgameshop, DVD.co.uk or Amazon.co.uk

        • Ahh well, no point then. The 3DS is scheduled to arrive 10th-15th July, after the promo finishes.

        • You may be surprised by how quick it comes, often Amazon place a redonkulous expected date of delivery and then it turns up on your door a few days later.

        • Does each account need to be registered to a separate 3DS XL? Just asking because of the necessity for two in order to get the Monster Hunter promo to work.

        • No. The only reason I say to register the account is because you get 500 more Club Nintendo points for registering a digital game (only way to register digital games is to be sure account is linked to your 3DS before downloading.

  • When I added the console to my basket from that page it added the console from the wrong seller whose price is very high and doesn't ship to Australia. Just something to be aware of for anyone having troubles as I did at the beginning. Add the one sold by Amazon and delete any others.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been looking out for a good 3DS XL deal for many weeks now. Cheers.

  • Having a bit of trouble here :( Everytime I choose a 3DS XL and the New Super Mario Bros game, I get to the checkout and it says it will cost $220.65 delivered. Can someone help us to find out where I'm going wrong.

    Thanks

    • +1

Yikes, looks like you missed out. They upped the price of the 3ds xl :-(

It's worth trying to contact Amazon support and see if they can do something about it.

      • +1

        Ahh ok then :(

I did what you said and contacted them via live chat and the cheapest I could get the red console and New Super Mario Bros 2 was for $209 delivered. Still happy with that.

        Thanks for the help Fry

        • No problem. Glad they lowered the price. Still a pretty sweet deal. Have fun. Any games you want to play first?
