$50/ $100 Free Credit for Switching to Momentum Energy [VIC]

40

You can check their electricity rates on the page which is handy. They are quite competitive and you can always ring them up and they usually beat what you have. I'm already with them, I saw this in the newspaper: http://i.imgur.com/AqKafIl.png

$100 - Business Customers
$50 - Residential

  • im planning to switch, whats the penalty for leaving momentum within the 36 months?

    • I assume between $20-40. That's how much it usually costs for these things.

Good: Local Call centre & "green" energy
Bad: They bill monthly (blaming smart meters), really hard to deal with when moving to another supplier. We also had lots of trouble with them when hooking up Solar, they refused to give us the form (they had to call back to record the info & that would take 20 biz days), said it was take 2-3mths for the distributor to re-program out smart meter (Jemena did it in 2 days after Momentum bothered to submit the forms (which was about 2wks after they took the recording.

I wouldn't recommend them for solar customers, I think AGL/Diamond energy pay the highest feedin.

    • Not really a bad.. More a isolated issue to you.

  • Do a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). one time $100 may not be that attactive when you calculate your bill based on your usage and what discount you get (I got 16% discount on both Gas and Electricity and that was far better).

    • Momentum has no % discount. Just cheap base rates.

  • I recently got $100 credit off my first electricity bill to stay with AGL (residential, NSW). Good discounts, 24 month contract.

    • Agl rate are like the highest around. Even with discount ur getting shafted. But NSw may be a diff story. Vic being with the right retailer matters

      • I'm pretty sure the rates here are set by NSW Govt, because they are the same for all the providers I looked at. Discounts, contract terms, credits differ.

  • I'm with momentum last 3 months and they are great. Best rates on the market and no carbon tax hikes.

No discount/pay on time with them but when u do the sums they work out cheaper even compared to 25% discount. +1

    • I agree! I have a spreadsheet with the exact amount I use and get charged. Comparisons to AGL and Origin (both whom I was with before) makes it much cheaper to be with Momentum

  • "An early termination fee (ETF) applies if you terminate your energy retail contract with Momentum for
the new NMI prior to the 36 months term elapsing. The ETF will be calculated in accordance with the ETF
clauses of your energy retail contract with Momentumfor the new NMI plus a pro-rata recoupment of
    the value of the Incentive"

Anyone have a contract with the ETF clauses?

    • Holy Smoke!

    • It's 20$. Big whoop
