Keep in mind this is the old 2012 model and has been superseded today by the new 2013 Macbook air that offers a 128gb SSD and much better battery life…

for $200 more u can get all of those stats mentioned above.

The battery life is quite a concern for me… Also I'd probably recommend the $934 model with the 128gb SSD, $45 extra for double the SSD is great value…

Agreed, and considering that portability is the main selling point of the air, it's well worth getting the 2013 model.

Or, get it from the refurb store for $889 delivered http://store.apple.com/au/product/FD224X/A/refurbished-macbo…

Thanks! Added to the post :)

how many additional minutes are we talking?

the irony when windows 7 posted this!

        • double the current battery life

        • For the 11" model it goes up from 5 hours to 9 hours so quite a big jump. The processing power stays almost the same (only a 3-8% improvement). The SSD is also slightly faster as well and it has 802.11 AC wifi, but no major changes except for the battery life…

        • +1

Plus maybe some better graphics performance.

        • ahh i should have known it's all about the haswells… intel and apple are like lovebirds now

i'm praying hard that luck will be on AMD's side this year just to lift this monotonous lifestyle

For those considering this, I don't understand why you wouldn't go for Haswell (the 2013 version) for a measly $163 more?

As well as battery life, it also offers significant gpu improvements the last I heard.

        • +2

$163 is 15% saving, when people are running around pricematching at OW and using ING paywave to save 5% I don't really call it measly…

That said the better battery life and reasle value of the 2013 model has me convinced… Now I just have to wait until JB stocks them so I can use my 28degrees card and then use the 6 month price protection the next time they have a 10% off apple sale…

        • The latest base (128gb) model is only 1099, with 10% off still easily around, you are looking at $990, surely i cannot see a deal for $934 model…

        • +1

Not to mention the new model is the first consumer device with PCI-e SSD - there's a massive performance increase from that.

        • I'd like to see some independent reports re: battery life

agreed no deal given djs 10% of macs
the new haswell 128 is $1099 retail easily get 10% off 990 for double battery lufe and faster ssd is worth $60 more

    • definitely…

Damnnnnn you guys are a bit on the hard side this morning!

It's probably better if you post a counter bargain to refute this one, instead of just saying there are better deals around etc etc. People come here to look for bargains, so show them where they can get it!

Anyway, I just checked the David Jones website, they no longer show any Macbook Air 11 (a couple of weeks ago they still showed 2 or 3 different 11" models, probably sold out). the cheapest one is the Apple MacBook Air 13" 1.8GHZ MD231X/A for $1349. You can still use WELCOME10 code to get 10% off.

Quite possibly the new models are already on display in-store, but not sure if you can get 10% off with the new ones. The clearance sale is to get rid of old stock to make way for new ones. If you can get the new 2013 models for 10% please post them here.

pre-order? all apple = all apple no exclusions :)

  • do you think DJ will do a price match and then the Welcome10 for the mac airs?

    • no, price-match is always final price
