Thanks eug. I will go have a sit

  • My fingers are twitching,
I'll sleep over it and if I still feel like buying it tomorrow, it's a done deal. Also this will come handy as this is almost tax time.

Don't want to drop a 1000$ so casually. Hopefully it's still in stock.

    How's the delivery to melbourne

Edit: Melbourne Pick up possible from store:

  • Great deal.
    Great chair.
Mine is 13 years old now and like new.

If you haven't sat in one for an 8 hour shift, you do not know what you are talking about or what you are missing.

Having said all that, mine now sits in the corner mostly since I moved to a stand-up-desk.

  • Got this for $870 at their Brisbane competitor during the last sale and I am loving it!
Slightly put off when I realised it was made in China though. Don't get me wrong but for this price I thought it would have been made in us.

    • Strange, I wonder when they moved it. Mine was manufactured in 2007 and is made in the USA.

    • Sounds like a replica to me…

    • Which store did you buy it from? Is it listed as a dealer on their website? http://www.hermanmiller.com.au/Contact/DealerLocator

I've never seen a Made in China Aeron, so I'm just a little concerned for your sake that you might have got a replica/counterfeit. :)

      • +4

A counterfeit would say Made in USA too …

        • I would have to agree on this :)

      • Thank you all for the replies. Yeah, it's Innerspace Brisbane which is on the list.

I found "Made in China" on the box. Probably it's just the box was made in China.

I just had a look at my chair but I was not able to find a location on the chair itself though.

        • It should be on the date-of-birth sticker under the big bulge under the seat pan.

        • It was not on the date of birth sticker.. I will check with the retailer tomorrow.

        • People just be aware chairs could be made in both China and US and this varies from batch to batch. if u have any preference u need to figure this out before purchase.

  • I have never sat in one of these, but I'm content with my ErgoHuman.

  • $1000 for a chair? no thanks. $1000 for a chair that turns into a bed so you can keep your eye out on ozbargain, yes plz!

Here's what I sit on. I won it in a game.

  • if i claim this as a 100% work expense would this need to be spread across 3 years?

  • The only thing that I dont like is the central pole too close to the ground, scratching things.

And I replaced the castors with bigger ones.

      Your floor isn't flat?

Bought one of these from the last sale at living edge in Richmond and I am very happy with the chair
However, the service at living edge was terrible
I was extremely disappointed when they practically pushed me out the backdoor and closed it on me leaving me in an alleyway with my chair
I had to roll it along the rocks and pebbles (scuffing the plastic casters) and load it into the car myself :[

That's crazy I called the store now and they said they unbox it before they deliver it ,
      why do they do that.

      • +1

The box is that big, you'd think there was a double door refrigerator inside!

  • +1

Is this chair 9 times better than the other ones?

    • +2

      Are $100 running shoes 50x better than $2 flip-flops?

      If you run, yes.
      If you don't, no.

      It depends on the person.

  • Damn, no stores in Adelaide to sit on one.

  • I thought $890+ gst was the normal special price for these

    • Where did you see this? lowest in store I have seen is $1200

      • InnerSpace seems to have this as their normal price.

    • $890 plus GST ($89) would end up at pretty much the same price as this special…just a tad less.

A part of me tells me to buy this because I can now comfortably afford it. The other part tells me to not be an idiot. This is quite the dilemma.

    • +3

One part tells me that I should buy this because it's a brilliant investment for my shitty back. The other part tells me I can't afford it and I will be left with 20 dollars in my account after purchase.

Seems like you and I are polar opposites :D/

      • I find the comments here that is bad for your back. One of the reason I bought this, was that it was good for my bad back.

Having sat on my current Mirra for a years, it feels better than a normal stiff chair.

I believe the bottom netting helps take the load of your lower back and the back rest forces you into a better posture.

  • Make sure you take the chair for a spin before purchasing, it does not fit every single person.

Getting a second hand one would be much cheaper, half the price most of the time.

  • These things are $1000?! I've sat in hundreds of these across various customers offices, not to mention the ATO. Now I know how WE charge so much!

  • just found that they are rated to support upto 300 pounds (~136kg)
good news for us fat desk jockey's stuck behind a desk all day

    • They also come in three sizes. You can tell what size a chair is by feeling the lumps under the lip on the backrest.

WOW THIS IS A BARGAIN IM GOING TO GET 100000 of these.

  • Dilemma….Aeron quality seems undisputed but I am still not 100% convince yet to pay nearly twice the price difference to ErgohumanV1 for $519 (@officefurnituredirect).
Can anyone with experience or bought the V1 Or V2 advice why there does not even seem to be an Australian site or Manufacturer direct contact no and it is supposedly made in Australia according to officefurnituredirect site???….Seems a bit strange.
Add on top of some fellow OZB saying officefurnituredirect could be selling fakes worries me a bit….any advice from those bought the Ergohuman from them? As I am sick of replacing my generic china crap chair every ~2 years.
Any ideas peeps; or shall I just bite the bullet for the Aeron?

  • It’s actually made in China, but it’s pretty good chair:)

    • Thanks, I actually rang Raynor in the US and they are quite helpful, I gave them site address and they confirmed that it is a fake they are selling at officefurnituredirect, in fact as far as the rep knows there are none authorised Ergohuman seller in Australia!!! so it is the Aeron for me!

      • Fake or unauthorised import?

If there are no authorised dealers, the chairs must be parallel-imported. That means they could be 100% genuine - just unofficially imported.
