Painful isn't it. No doubt this is Gerry's doing.

      • hahahaha that bitter old man

  • Bless you Tmart - take my money!

  • I just bought one of these and paid by paypal. Is it normal for a tmart to automatically create an account just because I bought something ? I don't really want an account with them and I've had to ask for it to be deleted as they don't seem to give you the option to delete your own account

Trust me, you'll be back. And in greater numbers.

  • I've got one of these. Great piece of kit. Goes well with the GoPro…

    63% off?
Just keep in mind the savings are way over-inflated. Most stores do this to suck you in. T-mart is doing it here.

Same product at competitor's store (normal price without coupon is USD $2.20, so add a few cents more to get AUD):
    http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/details/car-camera-dashboar…

For more reference, this same item is USD $3.70 at dx.com
    http://dx.com/p/universal-car-swivel-mount-holder-for-camera…

T-mart claim that the normal price is AUD$5.95 at their store. That's at least $2 more than other stores like dx.com, and at least USD $3.50 more than a cheaper Chinese competitor. So that's quite a bit of talking poop, in my opinion.

Especially when t-mart sell the black version of the identical product for AUD$4.24
    http://www.tmart.com/Mini-Camera-Suction-Mount-Tripod-Holder…

So, don't go spastic over the (claimed) savings, in my opinion. Dishonesty is the norm here. It still becomes a decent buy after the coupon but only saves you a few cents over a cheaper competitor's normal price. You aren't making great savings.

    more info on the item
This item has great suction. Keep in mind the round tripod plate is made out of plastic and can crack, but only if you are a heavy user (or simply mount something too heavy on it). The rest of the construction is up to snuff. Oddly, silver paint is used on this item even though the ball mount and the 'cage' around it is metal too. This 'cage' around the ball mount is painted with a thin coat of silver paint that can wear off with use to reveal…a near-identical colouring underneath of the metal. It seems they used silver paint to better match the silver paint used on the plastic tripod 'plate' part that surrounds the tripod screw. Odd and unnecessary choice. Anyway, rough use will reveal some silver paint coming off, but probably won't be noticed by most casual users since they won't give it enough use.

Over-all, it's a very good item (minus the unnecessary silver paint job). Suction is very good and all parts are well-constructed. To say it's just made out of plastic is actually doing the part injustice. It's plastic but all the good bits are metal, aside from that tripod plate part. This can be replaced with a metal one if it cracks if with rough use since it's a standard screw thread. The part can be sourced from most Chinese vendors selling this type of stuff, so don't fret if this part cracks. Anyway, with normal use it shouldn't.

  • How to apply discount coupon?

Nothing before paypal and I know after paypal, I've paid the 5.95 so…

    Edit: Wait, I got it.

For anyone else having the same trouble: http://www.tmart.com/HelpCenter/Discount-Coupon.html

  • Paid AUD2.22 Looking great. apply coupon at paypal section. just before confirm

  • Paid $0.21 - I had 180 tmart points available. I've never used DX points, except to tip people who post good info.

So another reason to go tmart over dx (although I know they're all tarred with the same brush, and will go bad at some stage)

  • Bought one of these last time they were on the front page.. I couldn't get it to stick to anything for more than a minute.

    • On glass I found mine to be really strong. I bought multiple units; all strong on glass.
