    Sorry OP and others be warned, bought 2 JBL Roxy headphones from catch of the day, for only $5 each and one would say that was a bargain but they break with little or no use and the sound just went from Stereo to Mono for no reason at all after a few weeks use on both!! So yeah, the JBL quality is NOT what it used to be, at least not for these ones anyway.

      COTD… Were they even real JBL product? I bought Asics runners from catch of the day but they don't look real to me or are seconds and good luck trying to get in touch with COTD customer service as they don't respond…and $5 sounds too good to be true (real)…

        They sure looked original, came in a retail box and has even the little zip case to put the headphones. I doubt anyone would bother to do a cheap imitation of a Roxy-JBL as counterfeit only tends to do with popular ones like Sennheiser etc (by the way I bought it for my daughter). Anyway hope yours work fine if you bought one as there is no returns only exchange if faulty. Given I bought 2 and both are faulty dont like the chances….but maybe someone has better luck?
        I am no expert but I think you can do some google cache search from them from Crap of the day who sold it at $5.

    A $4 lightning to 30 pin adapter will sort this problem out and it works with your iPhone 5. Don't buy the $35 apple adapter one, the $4 one from ebay is fine. Apple why did you change this…

      the $4 one doesnt have the bits that are needed for it to work on a dock, it just does the charging.

      these are purely for charging. Apple's 'expensive' adapter includes a DAC.

      IPhone 4s +4 and all 3 no problems. IPod touch 5th generation no problems. All downwards compatible.
      IPhone 5 get lightning adapter for a few bucks from Ebay or even better as lahiruwan suggested grab the bluetooth adapter for wireless free operation. Also 3.5mm audio cable works but I'm actually going to experiment with the rasperry pi and this dock which should work really well anywhere in the house.

    The Folks who've received their unit, does your unit give out a vibrating noise when you increase the volume above 4?

      I read some reviews on the internet and other people have had the same experience with this unit.
      I sent mine back couple of weeks ago and I hadnt heard from them.
      So I contacted them and then they shipped a replacement today. Im likely to receive it tomorrow.
      Lets see if the replacement unit does the same!

    $19.95 is the right price for this device. In terms of sound quality, that is what it's worth. I pity anyone who paid $99.95 because they got done.
