Great price. Shame Bunnings and Masters drove our local Mitre 10 out of business :(

So they should have! My local Mitre 10 (which also closed down) was more expensive than Bunnings. They had a 40% off closing down sale and the prices were still slightly higher than Bunnings (especially the little bits such as grinding discs and tools

Do you not realise that this is their long term plan? Wipe out the smaller local competition around the country by undercutting them, then slowly ramp up the prices till you end up paying more in the end. And you sit there screaming that Mitre10 should have shut down… yeah, retail competition is bad eh?

Mitre 10 aren't even a real company - it's just a common name that a bunch of independent hardware stores use to try and make it look like they're a chain like Bunnings. This might have worked in their heyday back in the 70s and 80s but people are smarter these days.

Wow economics 101. You'll be sorry when bunnings is the only store left. It's a well known fact the only cheap items at bunnings are the ones local competitors have to push them out and the one or two they advertise the hell out of that week to get you in their store.
