the typical australian rip-off price $249.99

  • Are you sure about the RRP? There are also several Outdoor Expedition jackets for Men (e.g. black ultimate and black utopia) for the same price.

    • It sure is RRP of $249.99. It is printed on the price tag of the jacket I have right beside me that I bought this morning. If you had gone into the shop just yesterday that is what you would have paid for it. But in saying that I wouldn't pay that much nor would most the population. Unless your stupid. Its like it was priced high to be purposefully discounted. That's camping stores for you.

        jk

  • I don't have time to post the details but the hiking shoes are also especially cheap. Especially the ladies shoes. Worth checking out. I got two pairs of Columbias for $28 dollars each at the Camperdown Sydney store this morning.

    • those especially cheap shoes are very ugly, imo.

also, dont waste money on those "hi-tech" branded shoes. these shoes are nice but sold much cheaper in usa.

      • I agree somewhat but the Columbias are good value and quality at $28. And my ladies Columbias, considering they are a hiking shoe, look good.

  • Good deal, but who holds their arms like that?

  • You're in Newtown - you can walk to their store and save $5.49 (where's your ozbargain principles?)

Yeah I did walk to the store but seeing it was my first ever post the guidelines said I should give an idea of freight costs. Go figure.

  • I think the Freight for me to Sydney (2000) is $9.80. so the jacket is now $28.80

  • Blue one has Freight to 2113 : $40 ………………….
    Black is $5.49

congratulation on your first post jane

    • Thanks cornbeef, I had a pretty busy arvo and really wanted to share and if you look at the mens jackets posting you wouldn't think they appreciated the insiders tip. So thanks again for your congrats. I appreciate your appreciation.

  • Just got my order through a few minutes ago so while checkout is slow it's still working.

Also there seems to be an extra 6.5% discount on the store for 'vip members' which I think you just have to sign up for when making an account (and claims to be free). May have to sign up for an account before putting an order through though.

  • Thanks for the post - I went to the Balcatta store in WA and got the Columbia Bugaboo ski pants for $36.46! I'd link to them, but the website isn't loading.

Balcatta had a reasonable amount of stock in many of the sale items - not heaps, but I spotted a lot of the online items instore.

  • If you get sick of the horrid online checkout system (and live/work in the Eastern Suburbs of Melb) … they still (at store close on Thursday) have about 1/2 dozen of these in various sizes (and the blue-coloured men's jackets) on a rack just inside the front doors at the Nudawadding store.

  • Ladies jacket? Not here mate.

  • this is another good deal

    http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Merrellā€¦

$29 in store, $79 through Amazon

    but limited sizes.

  • so i just came back from the store and apparently they giving such huge discounts because they are given a budget to get rid of old stocks (2-year-old stocks apparently).

  • They don't have stock, they are going to refund the order.
