  • Note that these dont have an internal battery - you need to use an ac adaptor or car power lead.

I got a DSE set a couple of years back, and it can play one unit on a built in battery, but you need power to run a second screen.

It looks like the same one, but maybe it isn't ???

those one's had a product recall for safety issues regarding battery overheating, I think you can still get a refund if you have one - I believe these new ones are almost identical but without a battery

        • thanks, i'll check that out…

        • I found out I have the GE4205 which has not been recalled but does have an internal battery…

Shame… It would have been good to get a refund and get a newer model… :(

  • Cheap way to keep the kids quiet on long drives… Good Find…

      gaffa tape is still cheaper

  • Anyone know if they have built in speakers?

  • Op, does the main screen have the player built in or is it a separate unit?

    • @Wm and ricodbn

      Have a nice evening

  • Just bought last week. Do you think I could return for a refund? (of the difference)

    • If you still have packaging. 14 days to refund. Make sure your store has plenty more to buy again at reduced price.

  • For $40 stop asking questions and start buying before sold out

  • Online Click and Collect, too easy. Thanks OP, perfect timing, I was looking for a cheap replacement as the kids have already destroyed the existing one.

  • 7inch seems tiny? But for the price, probably worth the compromise.

  • Good find. Thanks OP. Job done!

  • If I burn 1000 MP3s onto a blank DVD, will this thing play them?

  • How does this work wothout internal battery? Do you have to have the wire all the way to your dashboard from the backseat?

    • yes, unless you have an outlet in the back seat, of course.

  • Can anyone advise do these unit work independantly ie can play two seperate movies via usb?

    • No the second unit is slave display/speaker only.

      • Actually you can if you have another external source, you can play the slave unit on av in.

Sadly it seems you can't play the master on an external source. The manual shows an av in port on the master, but its not there on the actual device.

  • I bought one. Anyone else have it that the main unit screen is a lower screen resolution than the slave unit? The picture on the slave unit is much smoother than the main unit. Otherwise it works well for the price

  • damnit i bought the olin ones from junglejumble for 65+5 shipping these would have been heaps better!

though they do have a battery at least which is good for stops in the car when your waiting for something i guess… still 25 bux more though! guess i could have bought a decent back up battery for that price though…

  • I bought one today. The guy at they store didn't believe the price and went to check it. The slave unit isn't as clear as thesis unit. Not sure if its the AV out or the fact that the 9v runs with the audio and video.

I tried it with a USB HDD and it worked well. I intend to fill the drive for our holiday.

Reading the manual, I think that the video out is also the video in, but I haven't tested it.

    • What kind of USB HDD did u try? Mine did what work. Maxtor 80G usb2.0

    • fat32 or ntfs?

      • Can anyone shed light on my issue?

    • Thanks for posting the recall.
