And prints are from $600 each for wallet size?

    • It only provides 8x10" framed photo with the price and you also get a $100 voucher towards products

      • more of an epicFAILphotography.com.au deal to me

        • -3

How on earth is it a ripoff?? Surely an 8x10 in a frame is worth close to $30, and how many other experiences do you get an hour and a half for $30. All these people screaming about it but it seems like fun to me.
Only issue I have is that what seems to be the same thing is $10 cheaper on groupon lol

        • The groupon deal is $10 cheaper because it offers $250 towards any collection package
OR $100 towards additional product where as the deal on MushY Deals you Receive a $100 voucher towards products AND get a $250 voucher towards a collection package both, so that's where the difference is, and is definitely worth for $29.

        • Well, we've had customers who bought this deal and are very happy with what they got and the service received :) No extra costs were involved and they were not a rip off :D

  • The company's website lists this as a "gift voucher":

    http://www.epicphotography.com.au/buy-a-gift-voucher/

    Except it offers 1.5 hours.

All these photo 'deals' are terrible ripoffs.

    • -1

that doesn't seem to include the framed print….

      • I guess in that sense it is a deal - but should be advertised as a free framed print offer, normally $yourfirstbornchild

    • we've had customers who bought this deal and are very happy with what they got and the service received :) No extra costs were involved and they were not a rip off :D

  • +8

something tells me this won't end well

    paging jv

  • I totally understand..because I have been rip off before :( yeah photos come out to be $500 each later and they will show their unhappiness if you insist on picking just that 1 free 8X10 lol

  • for this to be a real deal, at the end they should give you the digital images. Otherwise it is $29 for an 8x10 print. But everyone knows that is not how they make their money.

    • -1

That's really stupid, demanding that. Even for OzBargain.

      • Where is he demanding anything?

    • Couple shot is cheaper because that photo shoot is only for two people. This a family, so more than two people For example : 5 or 6 people in the family.Definitely worth for $29 :)

  • do not buy this kind of photo deal.
total rip off $7000 for an album

    • Well, we've had customers who bought this deal and are very happy with what they got and the service received :) No extra costs were involved and they were not a rip off :D

  • for $29 ( value upto $740)

-ve vote for misleading claims. Not a bargain.

  • We got a free 1 hr session after spending over $250 at Mothercare years ago.
(Really, they should be free anyway)
It came with 1 free 10x15

When we went back 2 weeks later for the 'viewing' , I knew the hard sell was going to be on.
The photos were fantastic I must admit, but don't bring the wife !
We were left in a room with a 28inch apple monitor while the photos cycled through with the ambient music in the background.
If I had said yes, the wife would have bought every single photo and we would have had a 2nd mortgage.
Each photo was something like $50 (or more, cant remember) for 1 unframed and then packages if you wanted more, in the thousands
We ended up getting just the free one, and paid the $20 or whatever it was to have it framed.

on a presonal preference thing, i've seen the results of many family studio shoots.
I think they suck! So staged in every way. It can't be avoided….you are literally on a stage.
Get one outdoors in nature, much nicer

  • People who purchase photography services based on the cheapness of a coupon or deal deserve the crap they end up getting.

    • Well, not really! We've had customers who were very happy with the photography services they received and they had a good experience during the photo shoot. Everything published on the deal was followed and no extra costs were involved.

    • I disagree to a point, I also offer photography services and my family package is only $200 and for that you get

      Unlimited time
      Unlimited photos
      20 photos burnt to DVD/Blu-ray
      2 8x12 photos printed

In fact about to post that now as a deal.

Ok seriously, enough with going on about how you've had customers who were happy and how there are no extra costs. The entire point of getting a photo shoot is to buy photos. The fact that you don't list the prices of the photos well and truly shows that there in fact are hidden costs.

  • I agree with all the criticism….in general terms. These sorts of deals are generally a marketing trick to get more and more money. I'm not sure if the OP is guilty in this regard or not so maybe the criticism of the OP is and maybe it is not warranted. But it is always a case of BUYER BEWARE with these deals….and I say that having posted a photography deal myself.

Usually I would give full disclosure but this time I'm not because to do so in this instance would take away from the point I am making and turn it to mere self promotion….which is not what I want.

It annoys me that the photography industry can get away with these marketing cons…to say it is $10 knowing that the plan is to con them into taking out a second mortgage to buy all the rest of the prints. I believe that every photographer should be legally required to provide a reasonable list of their print prices and disclose the likely costs associated with "FREE" or close to free deals. Or to say it is a certain "VALUE" when that value cannot be substantiated is also unethical. I also don;t like the idea of only selling photos in packages because they also state a "VALUE" but its a airy fairy value.

To me the value of anything can only be substantiated by itemised pricing. Photographers should be legally required to provide itemised pricing
