spend the extra and get the amperior

  • the original line up of xB headphones
    xb300/500/700 (supra aural,circum, circum)

were some of the most accalimed headphones but are now discontinued. they had massive bass at low prices

the 400 600 900 are the successers to each but are now only supraaural. they're not as good but still decent. they look better and are more compact.

source: i am owner of a broken set of xb500s

    • Can't forget the xb1000's. They rock my head.

Just out of curiosity why'd you give $101.00? :)

Good spotting. My guess is he/she handed over $95 paper and 3x $2 gold coins…

What they should have done is pay with ING PayWave (which JB has) and scored $5 instant cash back !

  • What, me worry?

Just wanted to say, this is a decent price but these aren't exactly the best sounding hedphones.

They are definitely bassy but also lack definition in the high frequencies to the point of sound muffled. The clamping pressure is also somewhat high to the point of possible discomfort. Build quality is okay (and relatively good for $100) but overall a little plasticky.

If you can stretch to the $199 Amperior it would be an infinitely more durable and satisfying option, though they may be even less comfortable…

Here's my review of the XB900 if you wanted some more detail :)

  • No thanx, i grabbed a pair of XBA3's and 2x XBA2's last week during sony's 85% IEM sale ;) $130 spent for $850 worth of IEMs :D
