I've been to the one in Japan and they do free gait analysis, it would be good if they can do it here as well
Asics do provide a free gait analysis when you come into the SYDNEY QVB store.
Great! My gait hasn't been closing properly recently so the dog has been escaping.
Gait is the way your foot moves when you run. Layman's terms, your footstep during running, analysed, using a slow-mo camera placed behind you.

I got one this morning and also tried out their gait analysis machine while I was there. However I found out that the pair of shoes I was recommended which was on special for $160 can be had for US$90 on Amazon so I won't be buying from the Asics store here any time soon.
Be wary of purchasing abroad (internet) as ASICS has limited overseas shipping, also in store they are able to help and professionally fit shoes to the individual, as well as resolve any future issues you may have.
Haha, the well-informed OzBargainer will get the shoe fitted instore and purchase online to save money.
The risk you run for purchasing online is the wrong size, by visiting a store you reduce that risk.
The price you pay instore in Australia includes the customer service experience and warranty against abnormal defects.
I sell shoes too, and I'm very aware of online's normal prices.
You just got to make sure your service, your advice instore is enough to turn a customer from heading online, to purchase instore instead, rather than plain scare-campaigning.
Also with full knowledge someone isn't going to buy from you now (using physical stores as a showroom), I still serve them to the best of my ability, but I also give priority to other customers, and because they already have that 'going to get it online' mentality, they usually don't mind you're hopping between customers to make sure everyone is served.
At least they know your store is there and has good customer service should they ever decide to buy something not available online.
