  • Don't own Sony BRAVIA, however a + for the good deal.

I got the last one at Myer for just $1.00.

I saw JBHIFI selling it for $35 still.

  • Turns out that I own a HX800. My lucky day!

    What does this do???

Seems to turn these Sony Bravia HX800 and HX900 series TV into full 3D televisions. How i've got no idea.

  • If you don't already own some Sony 3D glasses, this is the cheapest I could find after a quick search. I'm sure someone can direct you to a cheaper pair though.

  • How does this make a TV 3D?

  • Basically I think the HX800 and HX900 require this to transmit the 3D signal to the glasses so while this doesn't actually turn the TV into a 3D TV, it's basically used like an antenna for the 3D glasses. Why they didn't build this into the TV and require an extra transmitter is beyond me.

Correct. The TVs are already capable of displaying a 3D signal; all that is needed for that is a high enough refresh rate (120hz?) so it can quickly change from the left image to the right image and back again. This additional hardware is required to tell the 3D glasses which eye to allow to see the image at what time - so your vision is synced to the images.

  • You can get universal 3D glasses now

    Think they are branded xpand?

  • Ordered this on Monday night and it came on Wednesday morning. Great!
