  • OP, I hope you meant delivery in JULY.

    • Yes, I guess that is right… I just copied it straight off their site.

    • +1

Its July… we will have stock in a few days and can ship them out :)))))

      • Cheers rep bought one

  • no Its AUGUST… yes it is right.. :(

"Please note: Estimated delivery for orders is mid-next week 31st August "

    • This doesn't make sense.

      • I write the songs that make the whole world sing.
        (I don't proof Megabuy copy) :+)

      • It's from never buy. Makes total sense!

      Hi Guys,

      It is July, NOT August… sorry… :)

  • Thanks OP, just bought one for my brother as I've been very happy with mine (paid over $200 direct from apple 2 years ago)

  • Is this just a router or does it have a modem in it as well?

    • You'll need a modem

    • Overview
      Easy wireless networking.
Connect your DSL or cable modem to the AirPort Extreme Base Station, then quickly set it up with the easy-to-use AirPort Utility, which is available as download for iOS, Mac OS X and Windows. In minutes, you and up to 50 others can use your Mac computers or PCs to surf the web, stream video, share photos and more — without wires.1

      Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi.
For maximum range and compatibility, AirPort Extreme works simultaneously on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, allowing all the devices on the network to use the most efficient band automatically. It uses the latest 802.11n wireless technology, so you can enjoy up to five times the Wi-Fi performance and up to twice the range of 802.11g wireless networks.2

      Guest networking.
Set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password for your visitors. Simply enable the guest networking feature, and your guests can use the Internet but can’t access other parts of your private network, such as your computers, printers and attached hard drives.

      Print without wires.
Have several computers in your home or office but only one printer? No problem. Just connect a compatible printer to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme Base Station, and the printer instantly becomes available to all the computers (Mac and PC) on your wireless or wired network. (See system requirements.)

      Share your hard drive.
You can share an external USB hard drive over your wireless and wired networks by simply connecting it to the USB port on your AirPort Extreme Base Station. This feature is perfect for sharing files and more. If you use Back to My Mac with OS X Lion or later, you can even access the files on the drive over the Internet.

      Strong security and access controls.
Rest easy — AirPort Extreme takes strong measures to prevent unauthorised intrusion into your wireless network. It offers a built-in firewall and supports industry-standard encryption technologies including WPA/WPA2 and 128-bit WEP. Yet it’s still easy for authorised users to connect to the base station, thanks to its simple set-up utility and powerful access controls.

Works with iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and more.
AirPort Extreme works with Mac computers, PCs, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Apple TV and virtually all 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless devices — all at the same time.

  • Thanks op

  • I've ordered an Airport Extreme to accompany my new rMBP from Megabuy. :-)

While I have an older Time Capsule, the 2011+ Airport Extreme has been tested for NBN throughput and should deliver close to 100mbps without issue…

  • Yet to receive mine (8th Aug)? Any one received theirs?

    • +1

Nope. Just sent an email asking wtf is going on…

I rang earlier today and was told that they had difficulty obtaining stock, but that it should ship on Monday.

I've kept an eye on stock levels and noticed that they went from low stock yesterday to being in stock today. So hopefully this prediction will come to pass…

      • Cheers for the info melso

    • I called them on the 5th and they said it would be coming in that day and I should have it by the 8th. When I called them, they were showing 1 in stock. I gave it a week and called them again this morning (12th) and they said that it would ship some time this week, but they didn't actually have any on hand. So no idea when it will actually show up, but I certainly don't trust their online stock levels.

      • Which seems to be against the law. Advertising something and taking money when you have no stock and no reasonable idea if you'll ever have stock. Not good form.

        • It's certainly sailing close to a breach of section 36(3) and/or (4) of the Australian Consumer Law (which relate to accepting payment without being able to supply in the time specified (or a reasonable time)).

If it was the fault of a third party supplier, the question arises as to whether Megabuy exercised sufficient due diligence and took reasonable precautions to avoid the failure to supply that has occurred thusfar…

What really annoys me is that I was eyeing off a 3TB Time Capsule in Dick Smith in Melbourne for $249, but it sold while I was waiting for this to come in (I prefer an Airport Extreme though because this will sit in my bedroom and the hard drive of my existing Time Capsule keeps me awake).

  • Got an email saying it's shipped (at last), so hopefully it'll be here by Thursday.

  • Received mine today so it looks like finally they are posting them out.

    • So did I, 19 days after ordering…

While I like Megabuy's pricing, I now understand why it can be frustrating ordering with them: they over-promise and under-deliver with respect to dispatch times…

In this case, they shouldn't have taken people's money until they had the Airports in stock. Then, they would've shipped them after two days and everyone would've raved like they did with the cheap rMBP on offer recently…

  • Still available (and it should be in stock), but no free shipping: http://www.megabuy.com.au/apple-md031xa-airport-extreme-base…

  • Rec'd 16/8 @ 10:30 A.C.S.T.

    • Got the shipping email tuesday but still nothing… and I'm in the same city as them…
