I saw the ad in front of Myer Sydney CBD.

For every $500 gift card you purchase, you will get $50 bonus gift card
For every $1000 gift card you purchase, you will get $100 bonus gift card
i.e. 10% off. It could be useful for easter shopping or wait until financial year end sale.

Deals last until 29/03/2009

Normally, gift cards expiry after 2 years since date of purchase.

It says 10% off for Sony and Canon digital camera, SLR, camcorders.

So you can get 10% off + another 10% from buying these gift card.
End up the price Should be cheaper than what you can get in local camera store or JBHifi

    Myer is very competitive in pricing (when they are on special), I bought my last two laptops there cheapest than any stores on StaticIce

    agreed with davo111. I got the cheapest iMac from Myer plus 12 months interest free. Just get the gift card and wait for big sale or clearance to use it.

    only reason i ask is that i plan to use gift cards to buy a laptop to slaray package which requires me to turn in a purchase reciept.

    gstfree…yes, Myer does price match and sometimes better than other retailers.

    Iplau…I think you'll still get usual tax invoice as if you pay with cash or credit card. You can ring Myer to confirm though. As wicked, it'll be great if you are planning to do big purchase in near future.

        they refund in the form of a gift card (if u bought it using one). But if the guy had half a brain he would take the other gift card (or subtract it from the refunded item). Just like how they take your flybuys off when u return items.

      I'm with you on this one. It seems to me, that if you're able to throw down $500 on something from a department store, then $50 probably isn't that much of a concern to you. I know if I had $500, I wouldn't be looking to splurge it all at once at Myers, regardless of a gift card… Still, if you're a regular shopper there, or you intend to buy some expensive gear from there in the future and can afford to now … Go for it! +/- vote from me.

    Just a note with Myer, if you are buying a laptop or something in excess of $1000 and taking it overseas. please be aware that your GST refund could be in danger and Myer can never issue a tax invoice with your personal details on it as required. Mine has been rejected and now spent weeks chasing up and even the office representative told me that Myer is issueing illegitimate tax invoice. Good luck with it, but keep you purchase under $1000 if possible.

    good deal. got it on saturday. purchased stuff that was already on sale (and asked them to price match 1 item from elsewhere) and already half my $500 is gone lol.

    Got 2 yrs to use it.

    By the way, the $50 card comes separate so it can also be given as a gift to someone.

    Nice one. Seems to me this is a nice way to get a free $50 Myer gift card:

    1. Buy 2x 500 gift cards and get 2 free $50 cards.
    2. Wait till the offer expires, then sell the 2x$500 cards for $1000 and include one $50 card as an incentive - who doesn't like free money :)
    3. Keep the other $50 card and go nuts!
