  • The HTC 8S is way better and available via Telstra for only 129.- incl. delivery.

    • In what way?
They seem more or less identical.

      • Better battery, better CPU, 21.1 Mbit/s vs 42.2 Mbit/s, Bluetooth 3 vs 3.1 …
Small details but they make the difference

        • You forget the main difference, 8S only has 4GB of rom, and if you rule out the 1.5GB taken by the OS, there really isn't much left for apps.

      • Unless u don't know that HTC just focucs on their Android phone right now.

    • HTC 8X is way better than both for $149 if you can still get it:

  • the nokia 520 is officially the most popular WP of all time due to its price point, it has sold millions overseas. I would get this for a kid or mum/dad. otherwise think about the htc 8x in the other deal.

  • Again, remember that Nokia phones get all the exclusive apps from Nokia that the HTC phones don't and can't get. It's almost pointless buying a non-nokia phone if the option is there and within a few dollars.

  • Got one of these a few weeks ago for $168. Great phone for the price! I'd definitely choose it over the 8S as well, if only for the Nokia apps.

  • Interesting how they now put Whatsapp on the home screen as an app.
I guess to reassure people that you won't be cutoff from the apps you love.

  • Bought this just to try out and play with WP8, mostly because I would like to get the Lumia 1020 later for its camera. 520 is certainly a great little smartphone for the price. But comparing it my Samsung Galaxy Note II and Android, it's a bit painful how limited some of the apps and the OS itself are. Especially I miss the functional widgets from Android. Obviously the Note II is about four times the price, but the main differences are not because of that, but rather because of the operating system itself. I wanted to like WP8, but I just can't.

  • Not a bad phone-but don't get water on it or under the LCD as mine was ruined that away after left in a washing machine. Mine was 109 pounds from Phones4U. The 620 is nice too-has a LED flash for night shots for a little more on sale sometimes.
