      Thanks for the reminder OP saw this and wanted to get it but forgot about it.

      This is just a cam viewer distance between devices will be anywhere you can put an ip cam (anywhere theres internet for the camera ) and anywhere you can get internet (for the viewer).

      Now to make use of some of those Telstra credits

        Ah, you didn't answer the question. How is it powered?? Does it need USB connection, batteries, mains, what exactly. Presumably it doesn't run on fresh air…..

          ahh true I didn't answer that question.

          so this app is just a cam viewer it does not use your camera on your phone when running this app to turn it into an ip cam.
          It's just a video feed viewer with a pretty UI.

          The way of powering your IP cam will depend on what your ipcam uses it could be Mains power/Battery and will need to connect to your internal network either Wirelessly or via Lan.

          You could make use of Ip webcam a very basic ip cam app to turn your android phone tablet into a wireless ip cam.

          Pair this Cam viewer and the Ip webcam app and a bunch of wirelessly connected cheap android phones (Telstra LG Optimus L3 @ $34.50) and you have a cheap security camera system.

    Reading some FAQ's it can be used with Apple too via EvoCam 4.2.1.
