Would make sense to compare prizes before posting a deal. Many stores offer it for 100.- or more less

    $711 =

*55" LCD LED Smart TV or
*Super Gaming PC with top of the ling Graphics or
*Super fast portable Laptop PC with 10 point multi touch or

A Tini small mobile phone that's worthless in 2 years.

Is it me or do mobiles phones seam overpriced?

    • "Top of the line" graphics cards cost much more than you think…

    • Look at how fast TVs go down in price, look at how quickly PC specs get outdated, same goes with laptops.
You can't say a phone will be outdated when that is the same story with all technology, especially the ones you listed.

You won't get a top of the line PC for $700 anyway.

    • You're talking as if those other items don't depreciate. Have you tried selling a used TV or PC? When they are used they are pretty much "worthless" after 2 years as well.

Used Galaxy SII's (over 2 years old) go for around $200 on eBay, the same will probably be the case for S4s in over 2 years time. Depreciation sucks but that's what happens when new tech gets released in yearly cycles.

Side note: please find me a 'Super Gaming PC with top of the ling Graphics' for $711.

  • Can we please confirm the warranty… Because HN Cranbourne were selling them out at $700 (Aus stock), but stated that it was only 12 month warranty with Samsung unless on a contract!. I've yet to confirm this with Samsung!!!

    • On the warranty brochere in the box it specifically states 24 months from Samsung.

for $11 you get s-view cover + free screen protector :)

      • +1, but, $12 ;)

  • What's the difference between grey import and Au stock?

    • Basically, if there's something wrong with it you can take it to a local Samsung store and they'll replace it. They won't do this if it's a grey import. (I've had an awkward moment trying to get them to repair a friend's grey import)

      Otherwise it's the same phone.

      • Could you pls explain what is the awkward moment? Where we can fix the phone if its still under warranty? Cant we just go to Samsung store for the grey import like Kogan website?
If they dont want to fix it, then what is the local warranty for?

        • grey import won't have local warranty on them. So if you bought a grey import phone from Kogan, you'll have to send the phone back to them under warranty issues.

interesting, there's an ad for $670 on gumtree that look like from the same shop. Can rep shed some light on this?

    http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/reservoir/mobile-phones/brand…

    • pickup and CASH only price.

      • does it really cost 41 dollars to post from melbourne to sydney (or other cities in Australia) though?…

      • fair enough, and I'll be a grumpy old chump and put this out there: it'd be nice if you put the "cash" price in title as well.

  • Is the S-viewer also Samsung OEM ?

  • so, for Victorians, if you flying overseas in the next 60 days, the cost of the phone can be brought down to $578.64, I'll pull the trigger if I were you.

    • +1

Not sure how it comes down to $578.64

      $711 delivered: 711/11 = 64.63 711-64.63= 646.37

      0r

      $670 pickup: 670/11 = 60.90 670-60.90=609.1

      am I missing something?

        officeworks is the magic word

        • In that case, your comment should read "for Melbournians" and not "for Victorians"…just saying…

Anyway thanks for the info tio.

        • They would only price match the web store price of $700 right. The $670 price is cash only, and only on ebay/gumtree.

        • I'd try using the eBay ad, since officeworks will match online sellers that have a store front for "identical" product, I'd try to price match using the eBay ad.

        • +2

Just got back from Officeworks Fitzroy, thay would not go anywhere near the $700 web price, made some crap story up about it not being the same phone, when I asked what was different about it his response was "we just don't price match idroid,as reqested by head office" Will just go and pick one up "cash only" from their store tomorrow.

        • that's bullock. I priced match mine with ITGLOBALSALE a while ago when it was $719 a while ago without any issue. I know morally I wouldn't be ducked and buy from other cheaper retailer rather than go back having a fist fight with Officeworks, but if they throw the same bs at me like they did to you, I'll report the matter to authority.

        • Bullshit. I price matched one today. (Punchbowl store, in Sydney).

        • @spazmo - would you mind to upload your OW receipt from the Punchbowl store?

        • Sure thing. As soon as I get a chance.

        • Can I get it as well please? Need to get one soon before my friend flies off overseas.

        • @spazmo — Sorry to pester, you've teased us with the killer deal you scored … Any chance you can upload that OW receipt

Sorry for the delay, guys. Been really busy at work.

        • Thank you!

        • You are lucky that they didn't take the delivery cost in to account.

        • Yes. Yes I am.

They looked up delivery cost, but didn't really know how to use the sites. They saw that local pick up was available and left it at that.

      • Forgot the extra 5% from Officeworks :p

  • Sview flip cover is the generic one from idroid's website.

    • generic

  • New platform to base OW price matches.

  • Does the price including GST?

    • Probably. All things sold in Australia must be advertised with GST included.

  • may be we can do a price match at officeworks. :)
